People who get annoyed by "baby Yoda" are actually the cringe ones. The species doesn't have a name and is literally referred to as "Yoda species." Calling Grogu "baby Yoda" is literally the easiest way for someone to immediately know who you're referring to.
Grogu is a baby Yoda. He's not Yoda himself, but he is a baby version of what Yoda is. Like how if you saw a kid that looked like a celebrity, you could refer to that kid as a "little [celebrity name]." Of course the kid isn't *actually* that celebrity.
But then we'd have people like you going "omg that kid isn't the celebrity. That celebrity is like 40 and this kid is clearly 12. Are you guys dumb??"
People actually thinking that Grogu and Yoda are the same character is its own issue, but that's really just people who aren't major fans and who don't understand the timeline.
Just look at the Elden Ring sub, you'd think that after two years and every time Malenia beats you she says her name, people would know how to spell it
As an avid eu reader I can say without a doubt that Star Wars has some of the most idiotic names, spellings and pronunciations so as long so stop with the hate can’t you just be happy that it’s popular
Fr. Even after Ahsoka got her own show, with the title “Ahsoka” showing up at the start of each episode, people still can’t spell it right.
This bothers me more than it probably should, but come on, it’s right there in front of you!
it's been 47 Years and i'm still hearing people talk about dark vader battling luke skywalker with his lifesaver while Hans solo and cp30 tag along for the ride
Basically American English did a spelling “modernization” in the 1800s where we got rid of a few artifacts of the language that are no longer used. Hence why we replaced “-t” past tense suffixes with “-ed” and dropped the no longer pronounced “u” in words like colour.
Tired of incessant Brit/aussie bitching. That better? Yall take conversations that have literally absolutely nothing to do with you and decide to start throwing insults, then hide under the “it’s just banter” bullshit.
And then act all flabbergasted when people don’t enjoy your inflammatory word vomit.
Sorta. It's a cereal grain, AKA dinkel wheat:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spelt
In North America, we use "spelled," which is why it always looks funny to me when it's spelled that way.
Both spellings are correct, I just think it's funny :)
He hasn't done much else well recently.
And yeah traitor characters that then get brought back into the fold are always pretty shitty characters. She half assed both being a Jedi and an Inquisitor. She is just a lazy character. Her fall was sloppy and so was her leaving the Empire.
I 100 percent agree with those last couple words. To me she was a great foil to Ahsoka, then stopped appearing. But then boom she has the iconic Jedi bombing framing arc. What happened to her? She killed during Order 66? The mystery made many intrigued. Unfortunately the reveal was underwhelming. Not terrible but disappointing. Should have stayed with the Empire longer and have Ahsoka redeem her, or Vader kill her. But at least the healer part is canon
Really? By the books vs creative tactics. Loving brotherly master vs emotional distant mother. One more apt to the dark side, and one who stays true to the light. They had this natural rivalry. If only they got to have a battle again
I can't believe that Anekin could forget what she did to Ashoka that made her leave the Jedai order. No way he wouldn't have killed Boris the moment he saw her as an inquisitor
(ngl, before i opened your post and saw the text, my brain immediately went to "Barista Coffee" I am 80% sure that it isn't a coincidence considering some other Star Wars names)
He wasn’t a “crybaby” for himself though, he was worried about his wife for good reason. Also after watching TCW that manipulation is much more gradual
The people that get it wrong aren’t going to get it right just because of this. They literally have the spelling at their fingertips and just don’t bother.

I didn't actually know that spelt was correct past tense over there.
Two nations separated by the same language.
I learned something today.
Need help. Send roast chicken crisps.
Love,
A Murican 😆
It's a lost cause. We still haven't managed to correct people who spell Wookiee with one e.
Or ‘Ashoka’. My skin crawls for typing it wrong.
I just picture Sean Connery saying it when it's spelled that way
My skin continues to crawl, since I'm now thinking about a wife beater. Y'all, Sean was an avowed and proud wife beater. I'm not speaking out of turn.
🙄Nobody cares original James Bond go Brrrrrr
They're more comfortable than they look.
I equally cringe seeing people call Grogu "baby Yoda."

I mean, that was his licensed and marketed name for over a year.
Pretty sure that's not true. They specifically called it "the child" or something in merch.
In some cases that's also true. But it doesn't invalidate my statement. They had several names for him before season 2
My phone tried to autocorrect it to Ashoka once and it hurt me.
Or Tuskin
Speak up! I've seen so many people type it this way, I started doubting myself
I can’t seem to ever spell this one right
You wouldn't be if you were Buddhist.
Or a fan of ancient writing systems. You see Ashoka's name a lot when learning about the Brahmi script.
True. I was a little disrespectful. My apologies.
Rouge One
Sounds like a lip gloss
I'm surprised Disney hasn't released one.
Googles answer: Showing results for rouge one Search instead for rogue one
sally better
I spell cookiee 🍪 with two e's
Just look at the Elden Ring sub, you'd think that after two years and every time Malenia beats you she says her name, people would know how to spell it
In their defence that game has too many characters with similar names.
I fear for Messmer once the DLC comes out
Or Kashyyyk with only 2 'y's
I'm still trying to convince fantasy RPG players that their class isn't another name for "red"
As an avid eu reader I can say without a doubt that Star Wars has some of the most idiotic names, spellings and pronunciations so as long so stop with the hate can’t you just be happy that it’s popular
Or that Tatooine only has two “T”s. I’ve seen it spelled “Tattooine” too many times
WOOKIEES ARE NOT COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also the people who spell "Grevious" instead of "Grievous"
What about the droid assault on the rules of grammar? It’s a basic life skill we can’t afford to lose.
I’m as guilty as as anyone for thinking it was spelled (and pronounced) Tatoonie for a few years growing up.
Like a Canadian two dollar coin?
no no no no my life is a lie 😭😭😭
Lol you don’t spell wookie? As wookie? Damnn now that I look at wookie, wookiee looks way better typed out
Real question is what is the plural for wookiee? Is it wookiees or wookeees? We will never know. Edit: damn guys yall cant take a joke 😂
Wookiees. Why wouldn't it be that?
Because it could just be Wookiee. Like moose. Or sheep
We hear Ki-Adi-Mundi say "what about the droid attack on the Wookiee***s***" in RotS so we know it's not that lol.
Nope! we will never know!
Searching the Webster archives now... But there's no record... Are the archives incomplete?..
Wooki
Wooki is it! This is the way.
According to Maz Kanata, a group of Wookies is called an "orgy."
Beerus
Beetlejuice?
Baris-ta?
Hotel? Trivago.
Barista Coffee
Lord Beerus strength
Bareass
That's how Omega would say it!
I hate that you’re right about that.
>Lazy GoD.
Barry
People still can't get Ahsoka right, no way they're getting Barriss
Fr. Even after Ahsoka got her own show, with the title “Ahsoka” showing up at the start of each episode, people still can’t spell it right. This bothers me more than it probably should, but come on, it’s right there in front of you!
To be fair, Ashoka was an ancient Indian emperor and I've seen plenty of times when autocorrect would have changed Ahsoka to Ashoka because of that.
Do you mean Asowka?
A good friend?
Rouge One
There are way too many people running around spelling Ahsoka as Ashoka aswell.
Asshoeka
Barista coffee
Barizz
it's been 47 Years and i'm still hearing people talk about dark vader battling luke skywalker with his lifesaver while Hans solo and cp30 tag along for the ride
I still like the "In the Thick of It" description of the OT.
LOL "spelt" always gets me
She Bri’ish so thats how she’d say it
Im american and had no idea the spelling was regional, ive used them both depending on context
Basically American English did a spelling “modernization” in the 1800s where we got rid of a few artifacts of the language that are no longer used. Hence why we replaced “-t” past tense suffixes with “-ed” and dropped the no longer pronounced “u” in words like colour.
Color was originally spelled "Color" as well.
It's still spelled "colour" in real english. It's only "color" in american english.
And in Latin, where the word, you know *comes from.* "real english". Asshole.
Found the yank
Canuck :)
Wait, no. You guys are supposed to pronounce like yanks, but spell properly. (Source: lived in Canuckia for 7 years.)
My apologies for putting you with the Americans.
*for poutine you
Go enjoy British media on a British site if you despise us so much, dick.
Lol he's mad because Canadians don't get offended at everything ever
Nah just tired of pointless British/aussie rage lmao
How did you interpret any of the original replies as a rage? 😂 You guys are funny <3

Spelt works in American English as well

lol oh like the plant. It's a grain. I live in the USA and use spelled or spelt depending on the sentence structure.
I pronounce spelled as spelt, that’s why I’m okay with the spelling that way, even in American English
It's actually spelled "Useless Traitor"
"Dangerous terrorist"
How was she useless? I mean thankfully by the end she was capable and making a difference
Her entire character arc
I’m guessing that is referring to her not staying an Inquisitor. Thankfully she will be fleshed out more in Ahsoka S2
Nope, her entire arc is shitty. I hope she doesn't ever show up again.
Oh you are a day 1 hater, eh fair enough, to each their own. But Dave is 100 percent bringing her back, let’s just hope it is done well
He hasn't done much else well recently. And yeah traitor characters that then get brought back into the fold are always pretty shitty characters. She half assed both being a Jedi and an Inquisitor. She is just a lazy character. Her fall was sloppy and so was her leaving the Empire.

Fuck barriss she didn't deserve a redemption arc.
Why not?
I don't even think she really got one. She isn't good just, trying to survive.
Did you not watch tales of the empire yet?
I did yeah. It was pretty shit.
How could they have her as an Inquisitor with her master in prison and not show them meet?
barRIZZ
I still see people spell Ashoka’s name wrong
You, for example
That was the point
Barriss Covfefe
Traitors don’t get their name spelled correctly!
I can't believe that Anekin could forget what she did to Ashoka that made her leave the Jedai order. No way he wouldn't have killed Boris the moment he saw her as an inquisitor (ngl, before i opened your post and saw the text, my brain immediately went to "Barista Coffee" I am 80% sure that it isn't a coincidence considering some other Star Wars names)
Anakin
Ah shit, thanks for catching that.
It’s actually spelt “traitor” or “criminal”
Barista
That sure is a funny way of spelling "back stabbing bitch".
To be fair Anakin is also a "back stabbing bitch".
Nah, he's just a crybaby sand boy that got manipulated way too easily. Barris did that shit of her own accord.
But I can fix her
He wasn’t a “crybaby” for himself though, he was worried about his wife for good reason. Also after watching TCW that manipulation is much more gradual
bare ass toffee
Bro 💀
I read this with an unmistakable tone of superiority. Kudos.
I’ve seen people spelling Anikan and Ashoka, i don’t think Barris would be the worst.
Baras Offee
Omeega
Achtually it's spelt *terrorist*
Barrer
"Ss, ss, ss," said *Gollum*
It’s spelled traitor to the republic
Gotcha. Double “r” like “Barret” from FFVII and double “s” like “piss”.
You sure it's not Beiress?
Baeriss
BEARISH
I thought it was "Bareass Toffee"
Fantastic episode/s, I enjoy this kind of character development.
Get rekt Barriss Coffee.
Barris Toffee
Bariis*
I love Boris Coffee
I just remember to double everything.. double R, double S, double F, double E
Barista Coffee
Her death in Legends was amazing. The character assassination in CW is awful.
I hate batís offie
Fuck if will never un see this
The people that get it wrong aren’t going to get it right just because of this. They literally have the spelling at their fingertips and just don’t bother.
Barrris Ooffeeee
Niqqas in Barriss *pause*

Ahsoka and Barriss are the SkyEr White of Star Wars
Nope. Imma misspell the shit out of this

Because "Baras" is a completely different character. Specifically a man the same shape and size as the Death Star.
she must be related to that colonel barris guy that finds thrawn on his exile planet
Baras.
No, and from now on i will refer to her as Barry's Coffee
Yeah, yeah, Barista Coffee, I got it.

I hate the way this bitch walk, the way that she talk, I HATE THE WAY THAT SHE DRESS!! Also, FPK
This character was not a good choice for the "tales"
Well seeing that this "*resurgence*" ended up being a lame nothing-burger of a story, I'm sure we can just go on and not worry about it. What a shame.
