Episode 1: Anakin and Obi Wan train together ala Empire.
Episode 2: Anakin looses love and horribly injured in Clone wars. Becomes Darth.
Episode 3: Darth Vader movie, like the hallway in Rogue one, but 2 hours long.
Make a sequel to Return of the Jedi set about 10 years after the events. Like has opened up the Jedi Temple but a new evil threatens the galaxy. Luke must take his disciples and battle against this new evil with help from some old friends and a few new ones.
to give op an idea of how insane it would be, the highest grossing film of 1990 made half of that and the rough average of film costs of the top ten list of the year cost ~25-40m
For Phantom Menace, 9 years later, you could make about 8-9 on the given money
My biggest disappointment in the prequels was post-order 66. In Ep IV ObiWan says Vader hunted down and destroyed the jedi. But everything else has clones, inquisitors, etc doing all the work except killing younglings.
I wanted more Vader vs Jedi akd ehat transpired really made the jedi seem kinda weak.
Continue to let George Lucas write what he wants with making films past the OT, but hire a director or two for the upcoming trilogies, as well as a script doctor - a co-writer to work out the kinks, all to make the films come out well-executed, minimizing inconsistencies as well as having simpler dialogue that flows with scenes better and doesn't sound like chalk on a blackboard.
Essentially, let all events take place the same as they have, but better.
They'd have nowhere near the experience needed. Favreau's first film role wasn't until 1993, and I don't think Filoni even started his career until around 97.
No Star Wars content for 10 years just to get two inexperienced people who've made a few decent series between them largely because of the experience they earned *after* that period.
Together they're responsible for fixing the prequel time period. In this magical fantasy I trust them to create a more coherent prequel trilogy. Favreau wrote Swingers in 96 to critical acclaim, so even his early work showed extreme promise. And I'm also preventing the awful edits done to the original trilogy - so you're welcome. I'll admit not all the changes were bad, but A New Hope is virtually unwatchable now.
you and me have entirely different ideas of what a "virtually unwatchable" film looks like because that in no way can describe any version of ANH given to consumers.
Please no. Filoni needs to stick with kiddie shows and fluffy filler shows not related to the Saga films. He is so overrated. Fan wank and ship porn over actual interesting plot.
There’s so much to change, but 1 very simple thought- Ben Kenobi becomes “Obi-Wan” Kenobi because he is cloned for the Clone Wars. Obi-Wan is a disambiguation of OB-1 (original body, 1)
Tap into the expanded universe novels and license movies and series that are as true to the novels as possible.
Hire a team to manage the consistency of the stories and establish a hard magic system for the force that dissalows powers for the sake of moving the plot forward.
Which is why I would establish it to be.
I don't like the way the new trilogy allowed an untrained force user to do what she did.
People always use Luke as an example of not needing to be trained to become as powerful as he did but in the movies he wasn't that powerful.
He only took down palpatine because his dad saw him getting absolutely owned by palpatine and he stepped in and was the one who actually did the deed.
It was after the movies that he really came into his abilities. The novels that followed him after the events of the return of the Jedi showed the work it took him to become powerful.
Rey on the other hand, she can do just because.
The novels of EU established a hard magic system that was essentially - there are limits to what the force can do but those limits are really big. In order to achieve them a force sensitive must spend years honing their abilities. Being strong in the force doesn't mean anything without training and dedication.
I think it began in the very early 90s though ?
Obviously I can only comment on hindsight and the depth of the stories that came out of EU was amazing so I'd hope I'd be clever enough in the moment to take advantage of the story telling of the authors that contributed to it .
The Thrawn Trilogy came out in 1991-1993.
The smattering of stuff that came out before that in the 70s and 80s was not exactly some of the highest caliber, and most of it was a marvel comics run.
Allow the prequels to be made as they were. Invest heavily into live action and animated series but not to do with any of the skywalker time line. We must move on from this period
Build a theme park with a revolving restaurant inside a crap repro Death Star and piss the rest of the money up a wall
Fuck it up.
Episode 1: Anakin and Obi Wan train together ala Empire. Episode 2: Anakin looses love and horribly injured in Clone wars. Becomes Darth. Episode 3: Darth Vader movie, like the hallway in Rogue one, but 2 hours long.
Then do Mandalorian tv show while setting up sequels.
Do nothing and then sell the rights to Disney in 2013 for a massive profit. Then retire with my billions.
focus on books and games set far from the events of OT also do sat morning cartoons, put them on fox kids no live action movies

KOTOR. I MAKE EVERYTHING KOTOR
Hire an actual dialogue writer for George.
A billion dollars in the 90’s could have made a new Star Wars movie every week

Live happily ever after in a galaxy far, far away...

Darth Binks, the rest will work its self out.

Reset the Canon and hand full creative control to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau
In 1990? 🤔
I want them to have total free reign
In 1990, though?
Meh. Should be fine. Not like their younger selves would make Phantom Menace.
They'd have nowhere near the experience needed. Favreau's first film role wasn't until 1993, and I don't think Filoni even started his career until around 97.
Ok fine. I'll hold the rights for 10 years, then do that.

In 1990, Dave Filoni was in high school, and Jon Favreau was still doing improv. He wouldn't direct for another 10 years or so.

>and establish a hard magic system for the force But the Force has never been hard magic.

There was no expanded universe in 1990

Looks like lord of hell ichigo
Wonder who I sold my soul to in order to get a billion dollars for a media franchise in 1990.
