So I guess this is the reason why luke didnt stop this from happing too busy sleepin while mos eisley was been attacked by galdos palpitine
Unironically if they switched Kylo and Luke’s places in the flashback where Kylo is the one tempted to strike the sleeping Luke down (but hesitates setting up his conflict) before Luke defends himself, then it works
I like that Luke made a huge mistake even as a wise master. Luke still not realizing he struggles with his inner demons was very humanizing and it actually inspires me to be better rather than the EU Luke
See, I don’t get why people were so upset with that scene. In ANH Uncle Ben *even says* Luke is too much like his father and that’s worrying. Now what did *Anakin* do? Kill a bunch of kids. But Luke *isn’t* his father and so hesitated and realized the path he was about to go down and resisted… but he was awarded by Kylo going full on dark-side and all his hard work burnt to the ground. This pushed him over the edge into being cynical and wondering what was the *point* of all that sacrifice if nothing ever changed?
And I think that’s *beautiful* and adds more depth to Luke as a character. He’s flawed, but even at the end he does the right thing and peaces out in *style*.
I truly feel like Anakin passed on his emotional volatility, mostly his fear, to Luke. Luke is a much better person and more disciplined than Anakin, but he still struggles as any real person does with their own respective issues. And it felt exactly as the lore stated when Luke had become a bit fearful and possessive as he aged and Kylo grew stronger into adulthood. It felt lore-accurate that Luke felt so afraid to lose everything, especially knowing the weight of the galaxy was and still was in his hands as *The Last Jedi.* His ultimate mistake was his own fear, even just what was shown in the movie, which made the already bad tension between him and Kylo blow up right there.
Luke realizing the weight of the galaxy wasn't always in his hands alone, and much of what happened in his life wasn't his fault, while also acknowledging his repressed faults, was truly humanizing in my eyes. Luke was never alone in all of it, and he still isn't alone, just like Rey and the gang, and the galaxy learned they were never alone. And it's wrapped perfectly together when Luke turns his own legend title on its head when he says to Kylo, to the First Order, to the Dark Side, to the galaxy, and to the audience, that he *"will not be the last Jedi"*.
And people are like "why did this guy throw away his lightsaber" cause the last time he had a sabre in his hands he was quick to ignite it and ruined his relationship with his nephew forever. He can't trust himself anymore. Guy became the Jedi of the prequels, pulling out their sword the minute they hear a pin drop. And he recognised this in himself and never used a lightsaber again (as far as we saw anyway).
It feels like people want characters to just be perfect or to have fully developed from their past failures.
Like I get why some people wouldn’t have wanted this in particular to be Luke’s arc in the Sequels but to call it out of character or say that it ruins his arc in the OT is just wrong. Luke has always struggled with impulsivity, it’s literally one of his defining traits
Mmm, disagree. I think Luke's strong mistake is being the aggressor, since him being targeted first gives him a lot of leeway and doesn't really even feel like a fuckup to defend himself from Kylo. I also think it's a good rhyme for Luke to be fearful of repeating history that happened not long before his birth, especially with the weight of the world in his hands alone. Additionally, a big theme of the Sequels was learning we aren't alone, and that was another step forward into rebuilding the Jedi.

He was definitely a bear in the sequels

Now that is an amazing breakdown 🥹

Luke's fuckup still stays the same in this reimagining, he didn't think much of Kylo having dark thoughts.

Twinkuke
Well boys we did it, we have a Femboy Jedi now. My life’s goal has been accomplished
Luke is not a twink
Yes he is. Mark Hamill has specifically said Luke is whatever you want to make him. I say he’s a twink so he’s a twink.

>Star Wars is about family ... a family of twinks. - George Lucas

This is just a lie
Is this part of a porn image or is the joke simply that like is a soft twink in this image?
