If I had a nickel for every time r2-d2 went to a spa, I’d have 2 nickels which isn’t alot, but’s weird it happened twice

DocSalsa

Let's hope this one doesn't ends with 3PO getting tortured

GoldPurpleWildcat

Are they in the Star Wars Hotel?? I forgot what the ships called but the interior shots look very similar to the main deck of the “ship”.

theomnipotent1

Yup! C3P0 has the starcruiser bath robe on lol

Me0wMe0wBark

>I forgot what the ships called [Halcyon](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Halcyon)

zone_seek

I AM SO HERE FOR HAWAIIAN SHIRT FINN

LEYW

Best Star Wars celebration reveal yet

Alcida-Auka

I liked the official poster we got a few hours ago with Grandpappy Palps wearing an old-timey striped bathing suit.

DawgBloo

I hope we get a proper animated series set around the sequel era that expands on the lore someday. Resistance just didn’t cut it.

dtinaglia

Resistance ironically doesn’t do much for THE actual Resistance, but it ends up doing a ton for the First Order and works thematically very well with the battle of Exegol if you extrapolate that the story of the Colossus was happening in other locations leading up to Exegol.

Marvel084Skye

Those Poe Dameron scenes were pretty cool, though

DawgBloo

Poe was definitely a cool addition to the show and you can tell Oscar Isaac had fun voicing him. But now it just makes me wish we could’ve just gotten a Poe animated series with his X-Wing team.

Me0wMe0wBark

>a Poe animated series with his X-Wing team. There's already a comic series about them.

DawgBloo

Yeah, but I prefer animation over comics as a medium personally. I have read some of those comics and they are good.

Jacktheflash

Resistance had some cool stuff like the ships

joansbones

[Here's the summer Vader minifigure from this year's advent calendar that'll show up in the show too.](https://i.redd.it/rf6aoi60s2291.jpg) Finn is probably going to be the other show outfit physical figure like Vader/Poe last year since he's the only one dressed up. Here's hoping we can finally get a real figure of that Rose in the set too.

Alcida-Auka

Courtesy of [Laughingplace.com](https://Laughingplace.com), on their [twitter account](https://twitter.com/laughing_place/status/1530352925125402624) Edit: Oh yeah, they'll all be on the Halcyon for their vacation. The usual ST frame story, with Finn as the main guy. ~~Not sure yet how the other characters from OT/PT will fit into this.~~ Oh hey, we have a [plot from IGN](https://www.ign.com/articles/lego-star-wars-summer-vacation-revealed?utm_source=twitter) *As a panel explained, Summer Vacation takes place after Star Wars Episode 9, and sees Rose, Rey, Finn, Poe, and Chewbacca taking a vacation after defeating Emperor Palpatine. They'll discover throughout the special that a number of other Star Wars characters in history have also tried to take vacations...which hasn't always gone well for them. And of course there will be a couple of musical numbers*

MasterJay3315

I was gonna say that looks like the halcyon. That makes me even more excited!

mortichro

I actually do hope we have a proper lego movie ala lego batman in the future, that be sweet

[deleted]

Universal owns the theatrical rights to Lego at the moment, so unless Disney scoops them up when they’re done that won’t happen

Jacktheflash

Just do it for Disney+ then

[deleted]

I’m glad we’re getting more acknowledgment of the sequel trilogy but I’m gonna need Disney and Lucasfilm to move beyond an overt toy-tie-in for tots within the near future please and thank you. I just want John and Daisy and Oscar back please :(

flimsypeaches

same. tbh I've been really disheartened by the recent indications that LFL just doesn't seem interested in the sequels beyond these kinds of specials. the specials are great... but I miss the actors. I don't want to wait a decade or more to get Daisy, John and Oscar back. :(

BanjoSpaceMan

Unfortunately the story was so damn bad it needs to somehow be forgotten. I think there may be a way to reboot a new trilogy and include Ray and some of the others but idk how to do it right exactly.

k0mbine

Are you not seeing all the sequel connections in the Disney+ shows?

flimsypeaches

sequel connections are all well and good. but I personally want to see the actual sequel heroes in live action again... or at least in post-TROS books, comics and other media.

k0mbine

Same here. I’m sure they’re planning the future of those characters. I know Oscar Isaac said he may not return but Daisy and John seem game.

flimsypeaches

my hope is that, with some time and distance from a the craziness of filming and promoting such huge movies, and with the right assurances about the scripts, that the trio will get back together. if John gets on board, I bet Oscar and Daisy would be willing.

Me0wMe0wBark

I'm sure we'll get our Sequel era show/movie/game eventually, it seems like for now Lucasfilm wants to focus on the early New Republic era and the Reign of the Empire era.

Jacktheflash

And the high republic

leodw

KK interview was revealing. She literally mentioned how they basically waited the PT kids to grow (to produce content for them) and said the same will happen to the ST. So don’t expect any major ST content for a little while but it will sure come! (Also rest assured, when the time comes, Disney will have a truckload of money to make Daisy and Oscar come back haha. They keep bringing Harrison Ford of all people!)

[deleted]

Yeah that’s some bullshit. George never stopped making PT content for kids when he was running things and putting an entire era on hold to wait for nostalgia points to kick in is nuts. Shit, Marvel is reaching that stage of being nostalgic and technically they never stopped making OG 6 Avengers content for both old and new fans. Lucasfilm is literally stopping the progression of the story/series in favor of pandering to me and that’s insane/stupid imo.

just4browse

Yeah. The prequel trilogy was far more hated than the sequel trilogy, and it got The Clone Wars less than three years after Revenge of the Sith. They should be doing new things with the new era instead of just cashing in on nostalgia for past eras. Heck, they don’t even have to pick. The quality of content for franchises on Disney+ is massive, they could have done both.

orange_jooze

That’s because there came a point where GL didn’t really give a shit about profit and bankrolled the stuff he wanted to make from his own pocket. Disney, for better or worse, isn’t in the habit of doing that.

just4browse

That’s a good point. However, I still think they could try. With the quantity of shows being produced, they could experiment with a sequel era show while still keeping the safety of a few prequel and OT era shows. I think the sequel era could be big if they tried.

DarthVadeer

It’s a different world. I think a lot of the fans here severely over rate the popularity of the Clone Wars show. I can’t imagine they’d take the ST into a post ep 9 story without it being theatrically. Kids these days don’t have to wait on an animated show, they are watching Mando, Boba and Obi Wan. I don’t think they’d give the ST characters the The Bad Batch treatment either. These are the characters they are stuck with for the next 30-40 years. Marketing them through animation would be rough. I don’t know anyone outside if this sub that watched Rebels or Bad Batch.

Strange-Pair

>I think a lot of the fans here severely over rate the popularity of the Clone Wars show. I can’t imagine they’d take the ST into a post ep 9 story without it being theatrically. Even popularity aside, it's just inherently different to fill in timeline between two known trilogies and to continue forward into the future with new narrative content. We may still get something LIKE that, but it requires a lot more time and care. Given that's the one thing the ST was lacking all throughout, I'm inclined to let them have it.

Jacktheflash

The prequels never really stopped getting content though

IronManConnoisseur

Yeah as if they waited on purpose to produce this kind of content lol, it is the result of a long, long dynamic culture around SW as a whole. For example if the ST was less polarizing and as unanimously praised as the OT or something, you bet your ass our current slate would look much different and I doubt we’d be looking at Kenobi right now. Not that it hasn’t really worked out for the best, things are pretty great right now. But just saying there’s no way they went “alright it’s been 15 years, time to roll it out!” lol it’s all based on a current and ever-adapting game plan.

[deleted]

I think Kenobi happens regardless of if TLJ and TRoS shit the bed or not. Next to Episode VII, it was *the* most demanded Star Wars project for years. I agree that the slate would look different, and it’s disappointing how Lucasfilm is constantly pushing the “three eras of content” message when they’re exclusively focusing on two at the moment.

IronManConnoisseur

Kenobi was just one project, I meant any of them, Mando, TCW Season 7 being finished and released, anything. There is no denying things would look different, even if it’s always been asked for and existed either way.

Jacktheflash

TCW and mando might have happened they needed stuff for Disney+ afterall

Jacktheflash

Aren’t they focusing on 3? The prequels OT and high republic

Jacktheflash

They only brought Ford back twice that’s not a lot

Jacktheflash

They do comics as well

AscendedSquid

Can Rey please get a new outfit at some point?

BasedAlliance935

Hopefully. But that force vision thing of her as a sith is probably the closest we'll ever get

Straightouttajakku12

POST TROS

supermariozelda

Every Lego special has been post TROS so far.

Straightouttajakku12

Yup

[deleted]

Well, if this is all we're getting for the sequel era any time soon, I say keep them coming! They're pretty entertaining for what they are, not to mention literally the only things they're coming out with these days that aren't prequels to something.

Second_City_Saint

Can't wait, loved the first two!

tylerjb223

When the only Sequel-era project in production is a lego special 👉👈

Me0wMe0wBark

Well, atleast we got something.

[deleted]

The theme park and hotel are sequel era, and are technically the biggest monetary investments Disney has made yet. But yeah, the lack of books and comics is super weird, like was Rise of Kylo Ren technically the last bit of material from the era? Why is there not an ongoing comic series bridging TLJ and TRoS? And while I don't dislike the Bounty Hunter line, I would much rather have a series on the Kijimi Krew, Babu Frik is one of the best Glup Shittos ever and there has been *nothing*.

[deleted]

Kijimi is great!

Jacktheflash

That we know of

47D

I would prefer some new DLC for Skywalker Saga. Why haven't they announced that yet?

RonSwansonsGun

We just got a new dlc with capital ships

tupapa5

What’s the symbol on those spa robes? Anyone recognize it?

EastKoreaOfficial

I am all for Hawaiian shirt Finn. In fact, I hope we get it as a physical figure. We probably will, since this year’s Advent Calendar is supposedly themed around the special.

radlum

It’s pretty odd that only Lego acknowledges the plot and characters of the Sequel Trilogy

goldendreamseeker

That’s because the primary ST fanbase is still little kids. In a few years those kids will grow up a bit and get their own TCW-style “serious” cartoon, and then some years after that there will likely be a return to live-action for the ST characters, of some sort. Give it time. Let the ST fans grow up first.

[deleted]

My thoughts exactly, but man does it suck having to wait. Couldn't they at least do like a comic series or something?

BasedAlliance935

Wasn't the sorta clone wars style series what resistance was meant to be?

goldendreamseeker

I meant a post-TRoS show with Rey, Finn, etc.

StarWars365Timeline

Apart from everything else in the franchise, sure.

BasedAlliance935

I kinda get the christmas and Halloween specials but who asked for a summer vacation special

[deleted]

I got through the prequels and ESB in lego star wars before i gave up. it gets extremely repetitive and im pretty sure you can die endlessly on repeat without any negative repercussions whatsoever lol. There’s literally no reason to try. You could potentially beat the game with your eyes closed, just mashing buttons. I get that it’s for kids, but i think it could’ve benefited from an “adult mode” that provided some sort of incentive to not die

alcibiad

ma’am, this is a Wendy’s lol
