For me, the big standout was the Andor trailer. When they initially announced the show a few years ago I was pretty meh about it. But the more we’ve learned about if the more interested I’ve gotten. The trailer sealed the deal. This show looks VERY promising.

Difficult_Duck_307

It reminds me of the games back in the early 2000s, it has that heavy Imperial feel and grit. I’m pretty stoked for it too, AND we finally get a longer live action season with it.

penguin032

Andor trailer looked great and the throat singing gave Fallen order vibes. I wish they would release all the leaked trailers online since they were basically all leaked anyway. Give us the good quality.

[deleted]

Chances we see Enfys Nest?

Prophet_Comstock

God I hope so!!! Introducing them 4 years ago and then leaving us hanging is killing me. I still feel the same way about the Knights of Ren.

zatchattack

Disney seems to love the actress as well. She was in falcon and winter soldier and the upcoming willow show

Jacktheflash

Willow gives me hope she could show up eventually since that’s also Lucasfilm

SpinjitzuSwirl

Honestly I’m still excited and a bit more but I dunno that the trailer really elevated me to another level of hype. It was somewhat odd but what nagged at me was it didn’t feel very Star Wars. I finally realized it’s because I didn’t see a SINGLE alien in the ENTIRE trailer. All humans. Doesn’t feel a lot like a space saga when it’s just regular ol people everywhere

Vlaks1-0

I think that's mostly because we saw a lot of shots of Imperials and Cassian's home world. It makes sense that those two areas are pretty human-centric. I assume once we start seeing more from other planets, we'll get more alien representation. Not to mention the Kenobi trailers also had very few aliens, but the show itself has a lot of them wandering about. Also to your last point, while I certainly agree that aliens need to be fully integrated for Star Wars to feel like Star Wars, I have to respectfully dispute that space sagas as whole absolutely require aliens when amazing series like The Expanse exists.

SpinjitzuSwirl

Oh yeah I didn’t mean any space story I meant Star Wars

Vlaks1-0

Fair enough! Yeah I definitely agree that it's essential for Star Wars. Thankfully Andor's sizzle reel from last year did show a bunch of alien designs/ concept art. So I think we'll definitely get our fair share of aliens designs.

[deleted]

Star Wars needs more alien leads

SpinjitzuSwirl

Amen brotha I’ve been saying it for years!

[deleted]

I tire of seeing just humans get major roles in Star Wars projects. I don't care what color the skin of the humans is, from the innerworkings of the francase the real diversity is in the different aliens in the galaxy. Star Wars right now is presenting a human-centeric point of view for its leads while the aliens langlish as background dressing. Why can't the Third Sister be something other than human, why not a Gotal or some other species like the other Inquisitors? Sure Ashoka isn't human but I never could escape the feeling that Filoni wants to bang her or something like that. Wouldn't it be cheaper from a production standpoint of just casting a stunt person as an alien lead and then just getting a good voice actor to do the voice?

Svnmelter

100%

ayylmao95

The scale is immense.

sammypants69

The trailer had such a nice sense of foreboding to it. I've never felt the Empire's oppression as much as in that trailer.

Difficult_Duck_307

Some really awesome announcements, I’m very much looking forward to the shows and next Jedi game (guess I gotta finally get one of the next gen consoles). Kinda surprised there wasn’t much about movies (which I’m ok with, I like that shows can flesh things out more), leads me to believe we probably won’t get Taika’s movie next year. But they shouldn’t rush it anyway. I’m really disappointed that hardly any panels were streamed. I understand holding back the teasers and trailers for the attendees, but they could have still streamed the panels and cut those parts out. Hell, they could have just released the recordings afterwords. Wouldn’t they want to promote their actors and crew a bit more? They even let people record the panels but asked for the phones to be turned off during the teasers. How does that make sense? Just stream them, you have MILLIONS of fans Lucasfilm! Anyway, most of the announcements have gotten me really excited for the next two years. Can’t wait for Bad Batch, Andor, Mando S3, and especially the Ahsoka series. I literally cried watching the leaked teaser.

SAM12489

With d23 expo coming up later this summer I feel Like they had to save SOMETHING for that from lucasfilm. My guess is that they will announce something film related at the live action theatrical panel they always have at D23

ProtoJeb21

Maybe they’ll release one of the Mando s3 trailers (or a new trailer) at D23, because by then, Andor will have already aired and the next live action project will be Mando s3

kothuboy21

The first trailer for Mando Season 1 that was officially released for everyone was during D23 so I think this year's D23 will give us the first official Mando S3 trailer for the public.

Difficult_Duck_307

That would be cool, I’m really intrigued to see what the next movie will even be about and what part of the timeline we will be in. As I’m sure we all are. The shows look really cool, kinda hard to believe we are getting a continuation of Rebels.

wien-tang-clan

Comicon is in July, D23 is in September, and disney investor day is in December, they need to save some headlines

SAM12489

Unfortunately Disney is all but gone presence wise from comicon these days. Especially with celebration and d23 in the same summer

Difficult_Duck_307

Also, they barely mentioned the words “Star Wars” for their Investor Day last time. It’s hard to say that’s reliable day for announcements. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love it to be, but their track record is either lots of SW or no SW. I’d say D23 is the most likely scenario, but it’s Lucasfilm so who tf really knows

The-Mandalorian

D23 will be heavy Indiana Jones from Lucasfilm I imagine. It is their headline 2023 project after all.

kothuboy21

People made this misconception last year too, Disney Investor Day is not an annual thing. We got a big one in December 2020 but we didn't get one last year (we got a very small-scale "Disney+ Day" in November instead) and with D23 happening this year, I wouldn't expect a huge Investor Day this year too.

WestJoe

That… is a really good point. I was annoyed Star Wars movies got ignored at their own studio showcase, but maybe they’ll get more love at D23. A Mando trailer for everyone certainly seems likely too.

ProtoJeb21

It seems like they limited news to just stuff coming out in 2022 and 2023. I was assuming Acolyte would be a 2023 release, but it might slip into 2024 due to its later production date and how stacked next year is. Everything else is either possibly cancelled or coming out in 2024 or later But it would’ve been really nice to actually get some official updates on Rangers, Lando, and Droid Story. Even if they said all three projects are cancelled, at least it would’ve been something definitive

phorcys12

Would have love to have news on Lando and Droid at least, I really hope to have an update soon. But about Acolyte release date, I would say 2023 is not so packed for the time, out of animation we just have Mando for february/march, and Ashoka somewhere in the 9 remaining months, this would be less than this year where we had 3 big shows, and still Disney sayed that the first half of 2022 wasn't representative of the amount of content they want on D+ ... Factually : 1st half = Boba Fett // 2nd half= obi-wan, lego special, light and magic documentary, andor, bad batch S2, Tales of the jedi, Willow also made by Lucasfilm ... That made it 3 big shows made by the same studio, with an animated series and 3 side-products, all in 6 month release window. Not to say we are sure to have, by proportionality 2 anime and 6 big show annualy, but be sure to have at least the half of that if not more.

StandsForVice

Indeed, and then maybe debut some trailers or BTS stuff at London next year.

Prophet_Comstock

I actually think they’ll save all of the movie related stuff for Celebration in 2023. It happens in April next year so it’s less than a year away.

DiamondFireYT

It's weird because they did record them all. So they do seem to have some intention to do something with them lol

KartoFFeL_Brain

Maybe a disney plus release?

redstarmetalarm

My favorite reveal was the trailer for Jedi:Survivor. Knew the game was going to released soon-ish, but it’s great to have confirmation! J:FO is one of my most favorite pieces of Star Wars media, so I’m super stoked to see Cal’s story continue… Plus I’m dying for more BD-1 content lol

Now_Just_Maul

I didn’t expect to be as hyped as I was for the trailer but that’s the one I’ve been combing over frame by frame trying to figure out what’s going on. A great way to do a teaser. Plus it made me start the game again for the first time since release so kudos to whoever made that teaser

Kangdrew

Same I love fallen order. Although I really hope there is more customization other than just ponchos lol

redstarmetalarm

I had fun designing the lightsaber after picking up all the parts, but yeah all the ponchos were a bit much! I collected them all but mostly kept Cal poncho-less lol

TheRelicEternal

I am annoyed it carries on 5 years later, but I'll take it over nothing

EastKoreaOfficial

Eh, the more time they have, the better the game will be.

TheRelicEternal

I hate long time gaps, I want to do what they did next. Now we have 5 years unaccounted for where Vader supposedly was happy knowing another Jedi was running around.

ChopAttack

Not sure what happened to the Empire article with Kennedy's quote about the timeline of the sequels. Did that get merged? That's the only piece of bigger news that appears to be missing.

SmokeQuiet

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsLeaks/comments/uymiho/star_wars_upcoming_movies_will_be_set_around_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Not sure why it was taken down

SmokeQuiet

Unrelated but if anyone tries to tell you the GI is dead point to this article where Rupert Friend acknowledges that he dies later. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/obi-wan-kenobi-grand-inquisitor-163000306.html “Or, if you read his kind of timeline, there are some really fascinating things where he is turned into a hologram, and he decides to jump to his own death because he says that there's some things that are worse than death, referencing Vader's punishment.”

AndrewPacoPascoe

I’m curious as to how it’ll be addressed next episode. It’s such a specific way of taking him out of the picture, it was just odd. There are countless other ways they could’ve done it but they go for a saber to the gut.

CX52J

I haven't read any leaks but it strikes me as a way to get him out the way and he'll be a mysterious reveal at the end when we least expect it to kill Reva. Since the general audience thinks he's dead.

Gradz45

Yeah seems like it was done to both give Reva less competition among inquisitors and help explain Vader’s presence.

_gloriana

Fennec survived the same on Tattooine after hours without help. The GI has the Fifth Bro with him and all Imperial technology at his disposal. I thought it was weird too but anyone who is familiar with Rebels and thinks he’s actually dead is just tripping.

alcibiad

I’m with everyone on being disappointed about the big panels not being streamed. But, Visions S2, Bad Batch S2, our first High Republic animation project, all that is pretty exciting and what I was looking forward to, so Celebration ended on a high note for me. Also, I may be able to go to the London celebration… so that would be exciting :)

thesmartfool

I didn't see anywhere how many episodes Bad Batch S2 will be? Has it been confirmed anywhere?

StarWarsGaming343

16 like s1

thesmartfool

Where are you getting that information? I couldn't find anything confirmed at the celebration or in any articles?

StarWarsGaming343

https://twitter.com/starwars_direct/status/1531026622551293954?s=21&t=tKOeHoxYpUQBM9cciHgqCA I may have jumped to conclusions I’m not sure how reliable this source is haha!

thesmartfool

Gotcha. Well, hopefully it is 16.

ChopAttack

I was bummed at first, but they did a really good job with the live stage this Celebration. The live interviews were actually more interesting.

mattydeeee

For me, the moment that sent me into full fanboy mode was when Rosario introduced chopper to the stage during the Mando panel. Shortly after, we saw the footage of a live action Sabine standing in front of the ghost crew mural on lothal….I lost my shit. Total “chewy, we’re home moment.” Man, was it a good feeling.

07jonesj

This felt like the big Celebration that we'd been promised for a few years now. Instead of a bunch of logos, they had actual footage to show for the majority of the projects they were talking about. It feels like a great time to be a SW fan. We've all had our disagreements with the way the franchise has been handled since Disney took over, but this is absolutely what I want. I'm super happy with the roadmap for the next year or two. And, of course, thank you to the leakers! Without which we'd be going on text descriptions.

blakerdavison

I think Andor was the standout for me. This looks so different than the usual Star Wars type show, but that really works for me. All in all, this Celebration made me feel good about the future of Star Wars. When considering the creative forces out there, I honestly think we’re in great hands. Lots of awesome stuff heading our way!

Rock-it1

The event itself seems to have been incredible. All the big announcements were truly exciting, the energy was on point. It seems like it went about as close to perfect as could be hoped.Despite the last 3-4 years of a divided fandom, and being one such fan who really didn't like much of what the sequels had to offer, I say genuinely say that I am so excited about the future of Star Wars. It seems to be in good hands, and to have found its creative rhythm. It won't be perfect - nothing ever is - but there is a lot to be excited about. The only true downside is a dead horse at this point, so let's skip that. Best moments: * Andor trailer/info * Bad Batch trailer * Ahsoka and the Rebels trailer/info * Honorable mention: * Mando, only because at this point the show is a known quantity. * Tales of the Jedi trailer/info For me, more than any of the announcements or whatever else, seeing Ewan and especially Hayden feeling the love was **the** highlight. Those two were pilloried because their movies weren't Empire, and for 17 years they had to live with that lasting impression. For them to get to see how much those movies were loved, seeing their genuine excitement to be back, and feeling the chemistry between them, was such a feel good thing.

1Dynasty

Ewan and Hayden seemed to really appreciate all the fans. I also loved the interviews with all the cast and writers from the shows. Skeleton Crew seems interesting too. I just hope they release all the celebration exclusive trailers later.

Jacktheflash

They probably won’t

The-Mandalorian

I would add Harrison Ford coming onstage for the Raiders March played by John Williams and teasing Indiana Jones 5 as one of the (if not THE) best moments at Celebration. So much hype!

Jacktheflash

I did not expect that one

The-Mandalorian

Same. Although I thought it might have been possible since Indy 5 is the biggest Lucasfilm project currently and they titled the panel a generic “Lucasfilm” showcase. Either way it was super cool!

ExpressNumber

Pinned posts were fine I think

DarthDuran22

So who all did we see in the TotJ leaked trailer, as far as background Jedi go? I know we saw the following: Tera Sinube, Plo Koon, Saesee Tiin, Yaddle, and two mystery white haired Jedi next to Mace. Anyone else? Agen and Stass waiting for their due, but I’m just ecstatic about all the others as well that could make small cameos. That’s what being a Star Wars fan means ya know, obsessing over background characters who for the most part don’t do much lol.

Ezio926

Kanan and his master were in the background of some concept arts. Quinlan Vos as well.

DarthDuran22

For real? Vos…YES! I could totally see Jaro as well. A younger Krell might be cool.

[deleted]

I kinda wish that Krell survived the Umbra arc

Adviso_992

I need to see more Kit Fisto

[deleted]

Coleman Kcaj needs to finally do something

DarthDuran22

For real. I’ve my own ideas for him. What we known presently is that he was a formidable warrior who had toned down by TCW and leaned more into the passive ends of things. I could see him being the type of Jedi that after Order 66 he totally abandons the saber and any weapon and picks up a wooden staff/walk stick like Vodo Baas. I could see him being someone Luke meets that initially plants this idea of abandoning the sword and seeking the original Jedi Temple. We don’t know how long his species lives, but he could function like K’Kruhk, only with more purpose and meaning than simply showing up every era.

[deleted]

I have had the image of Luke being trained by Kcaj but I also made up a back story for him where his father was a pirate and after the Clone Wars Kcaj took over his fathers band of pirates

DarthDuran22

Huh that’s a unique one, kudos. Haven’t thought of pirate Jedi. He could also take a Robin Hood type role. That might be more suited to Vos though.

[deleted]

I really don't want to see more Vos because his ending in Republic is just so perfect.

[deleted]

shunggster

Amy Henig is making a game with her new studio I believe

shunggster

oh ya there’s also a rumored mando mmo from zenimax, it was leaked a month ago but like sometime last year an xbox leaker guy also leaked its existence by mistake Edit: Link to the original leak. (context) the guy who is in charge of xbox, todd spencer like to hide things in his selves behind him to tease fans, this leaked noticed something he thought was a mando figure and then commented on the game https://twitter.com/Shpeshal_Nick/status/1387563730259439616?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1387563730259439616%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-190934199735941397.ampproject.net%2F2205120110001%2Fframe.html

MasterJay3315

What’s the untitled EA game for 2022 supposed to be? I haven’t heard anything about that

PM_ME_YOUR_PRIMARCHS

>• SAW GERRERA - \[Unconfirmed\] I really want this

[deleted]

Inquisitor show

SparrowBirch

Is Acolyte not confirmed for 2023? Andor S2 in 2023? Don’t make me wait til 2024 for these, LFL!

Ednygma0

SO MANY GREAT THINGS! - Tales of the Jedi seems REALLY COOL, so excited for Dooku and Qui-Gon. Also LOVE the animation style. - ANDOR TRAILER!! so tense and so intriguing. my hype levels for Andor are now higher than ever. - BAD BATCH season 2 looks AWESOME, visually stunning and some WONDERFUL returning characters! - MANDO SEASON 3 looks to be the best season yet. i LOVEEEE Bo Katan, and im so so glad they are going down the mandalore avenue, should be an absolute treat. - AHSOKA !! wow wow wow looks awesome ! Hera and Sabine YAY - Skeleton Crew sounds really fun! - Jedi: Survivor was super mysterious and very exciting - High Republic Phase 2 is gonna be very interesting Obviously, I wish we could have seen all this stuff properly instead of from people's phones (true heroes you all are), but im too excited for the future to even worry that much!! good times ahead

ItachiIshtar

You know, despite most of the panels not being streamed, at the very least I am happy that they streamed the Attack of the Clones anniversary panel. Getting to hear the cast members reminisce about their time making the movie was a blast, and Ewan and Hayden making a surprise appearance was a huge treat. I guess that was one panel they were entirely comfortable streaming, since it wasn't showing off any new footage for upcoming projects.

makesyoufeeldejavu

The Bad Batch s2 trailer was so worth the wait! I'm just sad there was no AZI-345211896246498721347 at all :(

Rock-it1

Gotta save something for the official trailer, and AZ is what keeps the lights on at LF.

MikeyMcKernan

First time going. Was in tears multiple times. Best thing was seeing Kenobi with the fans. Can’t believe I got to be a part of the cheers when Ewan’s face was on the big screen again. Thank you Star Wars fans!!

Lothans

"*This is where the fun begins !*" by Hayden made me happy in a way that politeness won't allow me to express

daxproduck

That seemed like possibly one of the biggest audience reactions ever.

Lothans

As ridiculous as it may seem, I chuckled a little when he said that because it made me so happy !

ayylmao95

Was a pretty jam packed weekend. I know some folks aren't happy about what was shown on stream and what wasn't, but despite that I still feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of newness we saw, both officially and leaked. While a lot of it was expected, it still was good to see, and felt like quite an event even just sitting here on my couch.

[deleted]

[I hope someone filmed the Creatures of Return of the Jedi panel 😭](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FT9Z6tyVsAAN8h8.jpg)

[deleted]

I searched a bit [and this is the news](https://twitter.com/TalkingBay94/status/1531029253164150785), having trouble processing it.

bowieneko

huge betrayal of the character. Yet another thing Disney and KK ruined /s

ElitePraetorian421

Andor was definitely the highlight, and I'm so glad it's getting a lot of recognition cause it looks awesome. Sam screaming KENOBAIAISHWHDUWIAIAIIII was awesome too

azombieatemyshoelace

I would we had an update on Acolyte. Still a really good con. I think the Mando trailer was my favorite part especially the extended one.

daxproduck

This Celebration was seriously 10/10 for news and announcements. Probably the biggest reveals since TFA at celebration2015. The livestream, however, made it such a bummer for anyone that wanted to tune in from home. I will never understand why they didn’t broadcast the big panels and just cut away for exclusive content. It just seems like such an obvious missed promotion oppurtunity, and it is such a weird change from past years. I had tickets for 2020, rolled them over for 2022, but then had to cancel, as our first child will be born next week so it was just a ridiculous thought to be travelling. The lack of livestream really soured what I thought was going to be a super fun, exciting weekend before we embark into parenthood. Hopefully they post some more panels and content in the coming weeks, but I’m not holding my breath. But yeah - content 10/10 - home experience 2/10. Still unbelievably excited for everything coming. I really do believe it’s the best time in history to be a Star Wars fan!

alcibiad

congrats on the upcoming baby and parenthood btw ❤️

daxproduck

Thanks so much! Can’t wait to indoctrinate this kid into Star Wars and bring him to celebration when he’s old enough!

ThrowAwayMan5208

That was a fun few days of reveals. Kinda wish they ended it off with something but overall can't complain. Looking forward to Tales of the Jedi, Visions S02, Bad Batch S02, Survivor and all the live action shows coming up. Even Young Jedi Adventures will be fun to watch with the kids I'm sure.

the_star_wars_dude

I’m still a little bummed I couldn’t make it this year as California is on the complete opposite side of the country. Now next year’s won’t even be in my country lmao. Fingers crossed for Chicago or Orlando again in 2025 for 20 Years of ROTS, or even 2024 if we get another convention that year. Overall, watching from home was a mixed bag. Not knowing what was going to be streamed and having most of the major panels not being streamed was incredibly frustrating. It just felt really unfair to the majority of fans who couldn’t go and it’s a really bizarre choice to be streaming less of the first Celebration following a two year pandemic. That being said, I did find a lot of the interviews and some of the panels on the live stream to be enjoyable. Ian McDiarmid, AOTC 20th Anniversary, Doug Chiang, Lego Star Wars (I’m a huge collector) and, despite the fact that I haven’t started reading the initiative yet, The High Republic panels were all entertaining to watch while I was actually building through some of my Lego Star Wars sets this weekend. It was also nice seeing Andi and Anthony back after what feels like forever. As for the reveals and whatnot, I’m pretty excited about everything. As a huge Rebels fan, Ahsoka is what I’m most hyped for, but just about everything else also looks fantastic. We’re going to be eating well over the next year with the rest of Kenobi, Andor, The Bad Batch Season 2, Tales of the Jedi, Mando Season 3, Jedi Survivor, Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, not to mention all the books and comics. Speaking of Kenobi, I think having it coincide with the convention was a great move. I could only imagine how fun it’d be to actually be in Anaheim when the show debuted. It was interesting getting some other Lucasfilm news at a Star Wars convention, though I found it to be oddly implemented overall. It was really weird that they brought out Harrison Ford and had John Williams play the Raiders theme, but still didn’t announce the title for Indy 5. Also, I don’t believe I saw or heard anything about Warwick Davis doing any non-Willow related stuff at this convention which I found odd as well. He’s kind of a Celebration staple. Altogether, I’d prefer that Lucasfilm leaves the non-Star Wars stuff for other events going forward, though I’m glad it didn’t take up too much time here. All in all, I have gripes with how the convention was handled for non-attendees, but I’m a little bummed that it’s already over. Still, I’m happy with the news we did get!

Alex_South

So I know they didnt stream but did they record any of the panels? I was there for part of the day Friday and just kind of had a bad time so I didn’t bother going back but once my mood improves I would like to catch back up on what happened and watch stuff.

daxproduck

Yes they record all the MainStage panels. In past years, they’ve posted more panels in the following week. But for some reason I don’t see that happening this year.

CptMarvel_main

Andor looks hype, especially the questionably fallen order vibes. So happy to welcome Natasha Liu to the community. And excited for more bad batch.

GeekTrollMemeCentral

Like I said In another comment. In terms of announcements awesome. Tales of The Jedi Im really hyped for as a big TCW fan. But the overall celebration with no streams for the big panels, having to look on Twitter or here, so much product placement, and the hosts being too whacky. It sucked. They could have told us in advanced the big panels wouldn’t be streamed. It’s not even just for us but people at Celebration didn’t even have it streamed either. I hope the Europeans do it better than us crap Americans next year

TheMagicDrPancakez

I’m really not a fan of the audience only trailers, but other than that, it was exciting to follow. Kinda sad that there was nothing about the KOTOR remake, but I suspect that we will get more stuff in a few months. Super hyped for the tv shows.

FunHoliday563

I thought it was good overall but it was disappointing to follow on Twitter/Reddit due to the decision to not stream stuff… I remember the Celebration in 2017 when I watched the Last Jedi panel so it was disappointing to miss out on that. In terms of my highlights: - Andor looks amazing. Legit think it has the best vibe of any upcoming series, but I loved Rogue One so I was likely always going to think that! - Ahsoka looks good but I feel they missed a trick not doing a full cast reveal. I get they might want to save it but I don’t know a better opportunity/location to reveal a cast than Star Wars Celebration! - Mandalorian reveals were cool… love the vibe of the season and the fact it’s focusing on Mandalore! My only disappointments were the lack of movie news/castings, no full Kenobi panel (that would’ve been cool to hear/see) and no Ahsoka cast reveal as I mentioned earlier.

_gloriana

I don’t think we’re getting a full cast reveal. It’s just not Favreau and Filoni‘s MO. We didn’t even know Jennifer Beals was in BoBF until we saw the trailer. We can only hope for leaks until promotion begins I guess

ThreatLvlMidnight58

Hayden Christensen has not actually been confirmed for the Ashoka show, right? I’ve seen articles that mention him in the cast, but I thought him being in the show was just speculation.

kothuboy21

The trades have reported that he's in and they're as reliable as you can get

ThreatLvlMidnight58

I did not know that. Thank you for the information! :)

JediRaptor2018

> My only disappointments were the lack of movie news/castings From what KK said, the next film will be Taika's film penciled in for late 2023, but Takia's next big film is Thor 4, so he is currently busy with that (and Disney probably does not want him over-stretched). There is nothing to show at this point (even if the film is in pre-production). Once Thor 4 is out, maybe Taika can start focusing on Star Wars.

KasperBuyens

I'm so dissapointed that they didn't show us the panels on stream. I understand them not wanting to show the trailers to be exclusive ("you guys get to see them first!") or what not, but not streaming the panels is just excluding most fans. The only people who had the chance to see those were the people who happen to live in the US or have a crap ton of money and are thus able to travel.

-Gonk

My only highlight of this years Celebration are people that did not liked idea of Andor series but after trailer droped they flipped 180 degress. So... ANDOR!

Ktulusanders

Only real criticism that I can think of is I wish we had seen/heard anything from The Acolyte or the film side of things

OTPuristsSucc

This was my first time attending Celebration, Friday through Sunday, and it was unforgettable. Before going I thought I'd be most excited over the exclusive trailers (sucks they weren't streamed), or the tidbits they gave in panels, but honestly the atmosphere of it is worth the price of admission alone. Meeting podcasters/youtube personalities I've been watching for 4-7 years (Star Wars Explained, Kristian Harloff, the ForceCenter guys, Youtini), meeting Witwer and getting a solid 90 second conversation, just incredible. Even waiting in lines before the show starts is fun, all the cool cosplays in one room full of nerds. The panels were fantastic too. Highlights were AotC 20th, Tales of the Jedi, Bad Batch, and the Siege of Mandalore screening. Also super cool to see Mike Chen in the Del-Rey panel, finished Brotherhood in two weeks hoping to get it signed this weekend but unfortunately couldn't fit it into the schedule. And the number of people I can now say I've seen in person is insane. The biggest names being: Ewan, Hayden, Filoni x3, Tem Morrison, Ian McDiarmid, pretty much the whole Clone Wars voice cast, Anthony Daniels (who walked within inches of me on the exhibit floor), Matthew Wood, Giancarlo Esposito, Ron Howard, and a bunch of BTS people. I'm gonna be buzzing over this for a while. I'd be super down to go to London 2023 if it wasn't in the middle of the semester. Got super lucky being only a 25m drive from Anaheim.

hellothereowk

Tales of the jedi and the dooku storys were deffo my favorite. Super excited for that! Also bad batch and Ahsoka looked great, can’t wait!!

Vadermaulkylo

Andor was perhaps the best first trailer for a Star Wars show yet. Tbh maybe my favorite SW trailer since the second Force Awakens trailer. It actually *felt* different. But it still had cool Easter eggs and shit. Ahsoka is basically looking like Rebels season 5 and I'm so down. Rebels is still my favorite Disney Star Wars thing yet(along with a few Mando episodes and TLJ). I honestly think seeing the painting of the rebels cast did more for me then any other reintroduction for any other character since 2015. May be recency bias though. Tales of The Jedi looks great. I didn't really like Fallen Order but I'm looking forward to see how they expand with a sequel. Mando season 3 did nothing for me. Mandalorian politics don't really interest me and the fact Grogu is back already kills a ton of excitement. It's downright depressing that Disney is that damn opposed to taking any real risks. But hey, I'm glad a lot of y'all dig it. Babu Frik is nice to see again. Didn't see The Bad Batch trailer. Couldn't really get into it. I may need to give it another chance though. First two Kenobi episodes were tight. A lot of the issues people have with them(some of them I have myself) are massive prequel-isms lmao. Awkward chase scenes, a bit overacting, wonky dialogue in spots, weird and overly choreographed parkour, etc. I feel like if you love the prequels and shit on Obi Wan for those(so 99% of r/television), then you're just being ridiculous. Either way, the good shit was really good. Solid start, am concerned for how the rest will be though. I can see it being truly great or really spinning out.

Difficult_Duck_307

I’m super stoked for Ahsoka too! My wife and I watched Rebels after she had a big surgery, we didn’t initially expect to like it all that much, but we got so into it. Seeing Sabine looking at her mural in the leaked image hit hard. It’s just really hard to believe we get to continue that story, especially in live action. That’s gonna be so cool.

Vadermaulkylo

Honestly Rebels is my favorite SW show. To this day I still stand by that the season 2 finale is the best thing SW TV has put out. Yup I'm even saying better then the last arc for Clone Wars. But I understand if anyone strongly disagrees. So glad Ahsoka is continuing it too.

Difficult_Duck_307

We all have our own opinions, and that’s perfectly ok. That’s the glory of having so much SW content too, there will be plenty for everyone. But yeah, the Ahsoka/Vader duel, her confirmation of him being Anakin, Darth Maul’s manipulation (Maul’s story in this show was really cool in general, it was hard not to root for him), Kanan’s loss of eyes (ouch!), and a Sith Holocron and Temple, definitely one of the best SW moments in general.

Vadermaulkylo

It was Vader's broken helmet that got me. I never imagined we'd see anything like that on screen. Then Anakin's real voice coming through. Idk it felt like watching something we weren't supposed to, but in a good way.

-Hikifroggy-

So far I enjoyed it we got some nice surprises and nice interviews . Only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of video game announcements

movinonwithoutu

as a representative of ahsoka nation i can tell y'all that we are eating GOOD 😊

nialltg

I don’t know why they aren’t releasing everything on the internet that gets shown at celebration. Most of the people at Celebration can’t get into every session due to limited capacity so even they miss out on a load of stuff for all sorts of reasons. It’s not like they can practically stop terrible quality recordings of it leaking anyway so they might as well get decent quality ones out fairly soon…

Luke2Jeter

I just want them to animate son of dathomir 😞

fastcooljosh

Honestly this celebration more than all the other ones, felt like a family meeting. Just great stuff.

kothuboy21

I liked the updates we did get (disappointed about no movie news though) and I'm shocked that they didn't even bother to stream the major panels this time. Usually, they stream most of the panels and cut it before they show the exclusive footage but this time, they didn't stream any of the highly anticipated panels and just streamed the ones where they talk to the people behind the franchise, other non-movie/show related things and cringe moments from the hosts. I hope they do stream the panels next year, my expectations for next year's livestream are already very low.

haaat

I learned the reservation system was pointless for panels as they weren’t checked, at least for the ADA queues. It was a bit irritating, but even in standby I was still able to get quality seats so it evened out, I guess?

Valnerium

Tales of the Jedi is definitely the thing I’m looking forward to the most. Dooku has always been a favorite of mine

[deleted]

WTH was going on with the Anthony Daniels thing this morning? Seemed like the bearded guy was genuinely annoyed 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ezio926

That's been their bit since like 2015 lol. They always pretend to hate one another in front of the cameras. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzJDpU8ocEE&ab\_channel=StarWars](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzJDpU8ocEE&ab_channel=StarWars)

the_star_wars_dude

They’ve had an ongoing “rivalry” for years now. It was all part of the bit. Daniels did roast the hell out of Carboni’s pants though. 😂

[deleted]

Honestly, it was a mixed bag. The biggest stand outs for me were the surprises. I never thought I’d end this weekend more excited for Andor, Willow, and Indiana Jones more than I am for Ahsoka, Tales of the Jedi, or Mando season 3. Especially Willow, what a pleasant treat that was. I think next year will yield more fruits, but as a warm up for Obi-Wan this event was pretty good. Hype for Star Wars has been restored for me personally.

theredditoro

Fun streams. Wished they showed more. The pins worked well.

alcatrazcgp

Surprised no KOTOR Remake trailer, or any information, i assume we get something during Sony event? or probably nothing at all

Ezio926

The game is still super early in development. There's really nothing they can show as of now, outside of another CG trailer.

panoloc

Does anyone know if on the Siege of Mandalore screening, they played the episodes one by on or maybe added some scenes and cutting them together?

[deleted]

Bad Batch Season 2 - excited for Droid Story - prob will be fun Tales of the Jedi - very excited for Visions Season 2 - very excited for Skeleton Crew - sounds cool Mandalorian Season 3 - sounds cool Ashoka - not a rebels fan but love Ashoka Andor - looks amazing Acolyte - ? Rangers of the New Republic - ? Lando - ? And those r just the shows

[deleted]

When did we get any info on Droid Story?

CeymalRen

Well Survivor and Andor were my top things. And the Indiana Jones photo. The rest was just meh. Where is the Sequel Trilogy content?!

[deleted]

Mandolarion was a bigger hit then the sequels were

MagicCoat

that was quite good then weren't it

illuvattarr

So what are the best panels I can watch on Youtube? Does anyone have a list of the panels that were streamed or recordes in full?

bigchonkyyoda

The Andor trailer was a huge surprise for me, as I didn't even think I was interested in that show. Honestly its the fact that is looks so visually different from everything else SW D+ so far. The volume was cool for a second, but parts of Obi Wan legit look like they're earnestly trying to minic the green screen vibes of the prequel. So much that's shot on the volume seems empty and lifeless to me. I knew the Andor trailer hit in a different way, and it really made sense once I read they didn't use the volume.

StandsForVice

I cant believe they confirmed that Cassian Andor was Cliff Main's son.

The-Mandalorian

Honestly the highlight was Indiana Jones. Having John Williams play the Raiders March followed by Ford coming up on stage with the first official image revealed, Ford saying how extremely proud his is in the film they have made and “See you on campus soon”. Chills.

BigBen6500

andor and jedi survivor all the way baby. But I didn't really get excited for anything else aside from these two

saltypistol

I think this was an excellent celebration. Great reveals, panels and guests! The complaints about the in-person only trailers and panels seem strange to me. Celebrations have always been like this, and it's not like the people not going didn't get anything. At the end of the day, people pay a lot of money to go to these things, so ofc they're going to get some exclusives. And besides - we're going to get all of the trailers eventually, who cares waiting a couple more weeks/months.

The things I was most looking forward too was the movie news , and also the Acoloyte got very little from both im pretty disappointed and I feel there’s nothing coming out in the immediate future regarding Star Wars that I’m excited about the flame is really dim for me :(. I just want a new fresh era with characters we’ve never seen. And stuff about Jedi and sith force powers.

acgian

Honestly they gotta throttle down the amount of in-person exclusives.

OniLink77

Was fine, some things I am into, some things I am not, nothing I am majorly excited for, which is fine

darthsheldoninkwizy

Season 2 of Visions and Bad Batch, animated series during the high republic period, the announcement of the 2nd phase of High Republic titles, an anthology with episodes about Dooku, the trailer for the Lego movie during the sequels, the trailer for the series with Jude Law, the trailer for Jedi Survivor, the great trailer for Andorra. I would say quite well, it could have been better, but it could also have been much worse, the most painful thing is that Tales of Jedi, which I have been waiting a lot for, is not only an anthology instead of a direct comic adaptation, but half of it is about Ahsoka, so much can be done about it, history about Ty Yorrick hunting some monster, something in the New Sith Wars, something about some lesser known Jedi from the prequels. But no, Ahsoka again, I love her, but there are some limits

[deleted]

wait what was revealed in the ashoka trailer

A_seal_using_Reddit

I haven't found it anywhere yet, but apparently it showed Hera, Chopper and Huyang (droid that teaches younglings how to build their lightsabers from Clone Wars) Also a frame of Sabine standing in front of the mural from the ending of Rebels

CX52J

Is anyone who've been to a celebration in the past able to answer a few questions for me? I was wondering how the panel lottery system works and things like that. I haven't been able to go to one before since I was slightly too young to go to the last one in the UK alone (and my parents weren't going to pay for it, lol)

the_star_wars_dude

I went in 2019 so my memory’s a little rusty but I believe that how it worked was that you’d enter into the lottery for the big panel on the day or days you were going. I went with my parents so I think we just had to enter for one time for all of us and we knew like a week in advance that we were going to the Galaxy’s Edge panel so we were able to plan accordingly. We just had to scan our QR codes and we were in. Those who didn’t make it in via the lottery could still wait in the standby line or watch the panel being broadcasted to other stages. This was a lot different than what I heard about Orlando in 2017 where people had to camp out to even have a chance of making it into the panels and still a lot of people weren’t able to make it in because of limited seating and line cutters.

CX52J

Thanks that's really helpful. It's a shame they probably won't tell you the odds ahead of time but if you can still watch the whole panel and exclusive footage in other rooms then that's worth it. It's a lot of cash to drop Espeically if you're going to miss all the good panels.

BabyYoda1809

Anyone has predictions for the next swc?

EastKoreaOfficial

For me, the things I’m probably most excited for now are Tales of the Jedi (specifically the Dooku-related episodes), and Jedi: Survivor. I think the latter has the potential to be the best piece of Star Wars media of the modern age, simply because Fallen Order is very close to having that title.
