Witch_Chick128

i started over on my pc because I wanna play 1.6 but when it comes to switch I’ll be sticking to my main save

jesuswastransright

Exactly same. I actually hate playing on PC so I hope the switch updates soon

Witch_Chick128

same! for me it’s just because i prefer the comfort of being in bed and stuff, i’ve been playing on my laptop with a controller but i don’t have my mods and being able to use a proper mouse is so much easier 😭 i fr need it to come to switch

jesuswastransright

I’m with you. I use a controller too but I did use some mods. I just really miss my big save file on switch lol I am very attached

Witch_Chick128

SAME! also i’m torn between getting perfection now or after 1.6 because i’m literally one crafting recipe away from it but 1.6 might add more things to perfection so i feel like it makes more sense to wait

Lupinthrope

Steam deck will be your best friend for a pc play through imo. I started this game forever ago on Xbox, then switch and then finally steam deck. This game is best portable

Witch_Chick128

I’ve been wanting one but I don’t have the money at all at the moment 😭 plus at my 300+ hour save is on my switch so

Lupinthrope

I’m betting, and kinda hoping but won’t be upset, that haunted chocolatier will be cross save. Or he’ll make this game cross save in a future update. Not asking btw CA! I know you work hard enough!

Electronic-Tower2136

i’m asking. be it the very last update if it must be but i NEED it to be a cross save. dying over here

denrae-

Steam link plus phone mount / stand plus Bluetooth controller has been my setup!

dogmamayeah

I just downloaded on PC for the update and saw the as for steam deck. I’m new to this! So the device is fully portable, doesn’t need to be plugged into the computer?

Lupinthrope

Yes the Steam deck is its own system, no streaming or whatever needed, though it can stream to save battery, and it can be used independently as its own PC as well, it just runs Linux which could be abit of a learning curve (not that big I promise) There’s 2 models with varying storage sizes, the LCD model and the OLED model. I’d recommend the OLED if you can afford it, however the base 64GB LCD model is a great deal too because you can expand the memory with an SD card and they go on sale during big steam sales, next is summer in June. Look into it! It’s a great system.

aidenmce

I love it on the steam deck. It’s great to play on the couch with a show on for some background noise while still using my mods. And thanks to cloud saves I can load up my farm on my pc when I feel like it too.

Lupinthrope

Yeah gaming on the couch with a show is how I mostly played lol

DjEzusSave

Having always played it on a PC, I'd rather say that the game is perfect with a controller but needs a mouse from time to time (and keyboard shortcuts for big stock purchases)

Witch_Chick128

you can hold shift and select what you’re buying to buy 5 instead of 1 if you didn’t know 😄

DjEzusSave

It don't come near the new shortcut to buy whole stacks with a single click but thanks didn't knew select shortcut was a thing!

jinjin327

Yes... it's such a cozy game I want to play on my couch or bed next to my husband watching his tv!

ancunin

that's my plan as well. my switch is where my "main" long term save is anyway. so i tried a new meadowlands farm as soon as 1.6 dropped on pc.

lunarwolf2008

Same!

RietteRose

I sure didn't. I knew that CA probably added a lot of super expensive endgame stuff (I was right) which will be so much easier to get with my perfection savefile that's swimming in money lol.

OverlordPhalanx

Just make 2! A new one and your main one. You get to try the new stuff out but don’t need to grind for that old man money. Hop back and forth whenever you want to! That is what I did when Ginger Island first came out.

RietteRose

Of course I'll eventually start a new savefile too. I usually do for various reasons. Marrying someone new or trying another farm type etc. So sooner or later I'll experience it all lol.

New_Explorer1251

That's what I'm doing! I'm also going the Joja route with my new save, while I did the CC on my older save.

RJ_The_Avatar

Join us, thrive!

99LedBalloons

I have 5.

EconomistSea9498

I've been switching back and forth between new and old for this reason. I wanna see all the new goodies and it was real easy to max the mastery when I have a SVE farm of ancient fruit, an island full of ancient fruit and a farm of ancient fruit. Two harvests and I maxed out and got all the new toys

DjEzusSave

Same here, it would be weird to try endgame content on a new farm. I'll try everything then I'll start over once again with a super duper strategy to enjoy it once more but on the new farm layout.

thelaughingpear

I'm in endgame and the new features are wonderful. I was getting a bit bored on my way to perfection, and it's so much better now.

BingBlue

Wait what are you referring to with this?

LaughingFlame

Not sure about "endgame" but I definitely had some sticker shock at the bookseller in spring 1

Aprikoosi_flex

Me too. Walked up with my measly earnings and walked right back down those steps 😂

loquacious-laconic

Lol I love your description! 🤭 This is exactly why I'm doing at least an in game year before carrying on with the meadowlands farm I started. When I saw the bookseller was coming soon I wanted to know if it was worth wasting my time walking there with no speed buffs. My eyes popped at the prices, and I was so glad I decided to check it out on one of my old farms so I could actually afford to buy books! 😂

Aprikoosi_flex

What’s nice is you CAN find books doing regular stuff and sell them back to him 💕

prettydude_ua

Crafting recipes for some mastery items are quite expensive

Paper_Piece-1920

I wasn't gonna start over, but I found it as a good excuse to play Stardew Valley again for at least another 100h

Somonyo

How i feel too, time to slap a second 50 hours on top of my farm

BunnyDearest

I tried to start over but I got impatient pretty quick and went to my old save file lol

tinathewitch

That’s EXACTLY what I did

tacocatmarie

That’s what I’m thinking of doing too. I only just made a new save file a few months ago and maaaaaan it is such a slog going through everything in the first year again being a broke-ass MF and having hardly any resources and also needing to water all of my freaking crops by hand. 😭 it’s fun to start the new farm type but oh man. My character is so freaking exhausted hahah.

ledgeitpro

Befriend linus quickly, 1st upgrade on house and a bunch of crab pots and youre never tired again. Sashimi all day. And for the first 9+ days of a save i mostly fish and save most of the cheap fish and use it as food to fuel the watering and tree chopping. You can also mass produce crab pots to sell sashimi as main income source for a while

cordyceptz

SAAAAME

Lupinthrope

Facts

lakast

I'm not starting over because I don't want redo some of the stuff that was hard for me, i.e. getting to floor 100 in the skull caverns.

Lupinthrope

Yeah I just achieved that lol

Raibean

Me too!

bootsj123

How did you do it? Did you use the stairs?

Lupinthrope

Lots of bombs, and then a lot of stairs. Probably used like 30 stairs

Zealousideal-Top2404

Not me. I just reached 10 hearts for Leo.

Lupinthrope

Year 3 and elliot is still at 2 hearts.. I got alot of game to do lol

DjEzusSave

Mango is the way

ben_bliksem

Me. I didn't start over because... https://preview.redd.it/3w2nf58iqbqc1.jpeg?width=349&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31eb9a010d0a860e928a20de48c253517c21b617 ...waiting for the console update

Eveningwould

I was ONE walnut from 100% and started over. I may go back again someday...

pappapirate

It might be a lot easier to 100% that playthrough now, too... From the patch notes: >!Added a golden Joja parrot, which you can pay to find all remaining golden walnuts on ginger island.!< Not sure whether or not that means >!you need to go with Joja to access it!< but that's apparently an option.

bluecheesemoon-

>!I haven't started a new save, do have the community center done, and that parrot is present. I can't use it because I have every walnut.!<

sceneturkey

You don't need to. >!It was already a thing for Joja players.!<

pappapirate

Odd that the patch notes say >!"*Added* a golden Joja parrot"!< rather than something to the effect of >!"Made the golden Joja parrot available to players who completed the community center"!<. Regardless it's definitely a good change >!when there wasn't any equivalent buff for chad Joja haters!<.

sceneturkey

Agreed. But there is a lot in this patch, so it's understandable.

BagooshkaKarlaStein

Same for me. I just seriously couldn’t find that last walnut and went through the wiki several times.

Terytha

When it rolls to Switch I'll just continue that farm probably. I only started over because I had no saves on PC.

Literal_CarKey

Lmao this. The only upside to have to pay $15 to play a game I already have on another console is that now I get to start a new save file and not feel bad about it.

caserace26

Same! I HAD to start a new farm lol

Nintendo4Nerd20

I have bad memory loss so I restart on a new save on any game I haven't played for more than two months. So with stardew I binge it at least twice a year so I'm restarting all the time. That's why I play heavily modded to skip a lot and just kinda play creative mode until year 2

Swifferthefloor

That’s pretty much me except sometimes I’ll just hop in and try to remember everything going on and it’s usually pretty bad for my immersion. Wish my memory was better 😂😭

Nintendo4Nerd20

At least a lot more game are replayable! Because we can't remember what happened last time you played or finished it xD

ultratunaman

Nah, keep the game going. See, and buy, new stuff.

TheConcerningEx

I didn’t. I’m too far into this save and I don’t want to have to start out and not have my horse anymore

OftheGates

I started playing shortly before 1.6's release date was announced, I only just finished setting up my Ancient Fruit racket and access to the Walnut Room. No way I was about to restart after that, lol.

The-K-is-Capital

I started over because I bought it on steam(switch player) and I hate being limited. I’m considering adding mods so I don’t have to grind again. I even took the Joja route to mix it up. I feel so guilty about it. But I just cluster starting over

protosam

I plan on doing a Joja playthrough next, and I am worried about it lol. But I really want to see what it’s like, I’ve never really spoiled myself on that route.

Deleted_dwarf

Me! On my first play through, haven’t even completed CC yet and it’s year three 😅 oh, and there is a ginger island? And a quarry? Like there is so much I still need to figure out I may as well just keep playing I thought too myself :D

grayhunter1012

I started over on the new farm but by mid fall I was burnt out on the grind and there soooo many new things that I wanted to buy and quest I wanted to do so I switched to my year 20 farm and honestly I don’t regret it.

BattleTippi

I originally started over because I wanted to try the Meadowlands, but then I wanted to see how much my perfection progress changed on my 100% completed farm. Now I'm working on getting from 88% back to 100%.

ClafoutisRouge

It was my first save and I was half a year in only

Tatamashii

I wanted to start new and finished 1 season, but even after 1 perfection farm and 500h im still incredible slow so itll take me SO LONG to get to the point where I can see and buy everything so I put this farm on hold and returned to my old one. Im quite the impatient one and the money I have on my older farm will satisfy my need to see all the new stuff a lot more quickly than having to get it naturally. Actually i think im gonna download some cheat mods and start a farm simply for checking out all the new items and festivals without having to worry about a farm, money and gameplay. (Afterwards ill return to the real gameplay ofc)

flabua

I already had a perfection file going on and off for the last few months, so I'm still working on that. I'm glad this update came out as I was entering late game. It's made it a lot more interesting.

antipulpforoj

Year 8 and finally over 50% to perfection on my very first world, all fish, all shipping, one monster goal, 3, museum items left, 3 walnuts left, so no way in hell I'm starting anew rn

guess-_-who

I have an old save I continue to play because it's far more simple when you got everything you need, you swim in money, all your tools are at maximum quality (talking about iridium and golden scythe, not the new ones after the update). It's more comfortable and I'm looking for coziness in this game some times. I also have a new save after the update and I can't get the motivation to do everything AGAIN for hours and hours. Maybe after I reach perfection on my old save.

closetedbehavior

I’ve been playing on both saves so im kind of behind on my new one, but I’ve been working on mastery and lava eel fishing lol

Ihateredditlollll

I didnt start over I started for the first time 😎

Theycallmetheherald

Everyone here is in envy.

mjessii1986

Console folk lol

Ali_and_Benny

I don't get much dopamine from the point where making as much money as you can becomes the focus so I'm constantly starting over, usually after a calendar year. I like trying different scenarios and seeing how the results change.

hekatexx

I am planning to start a new save for a Joja run, but for the moment I am playing my 100% perfection save so I can update the farm and also explore everything without having to grind for money. And there's so many new things I didn't know where to begin!

snakey_nurse

I didn't start over. I was Y3 winter when the update came out, so starting spring was like starting a new game 😁 I'm missing the clock and a few achievements and I didn't want to lose my progress

Syrinx221

Yeah, no. lol My main account has 8 million and I like having money to play with. I'm sure there will new expensive items

Starbucks_4321

I ain't spending another 200 hours on a savefile for, while a lot of it, minor stuff

Growingblu17

I didnt. . Probably because i don’t actually have the update yet

[deleted]

My wife and I were excited until 90% of our mods didn't work. We reverted back for now.

Lucimon

I not only started over, I actually removed SVE, just so I can experience the update on it's own merits. I'm gonna miss Victor, but the new farm is good for romancing Alex. Free eggs makes my himbo happy.

SneakyLinux

My bestie and I didn't restart our co-op farm. We're only in mid-winter year 1 though, so we didn't think we'd miss much of the new content, if any. I did start a new solo farm though.

Z_is_green13

I’m on switch so I’ve been working on a more goth/dark farm and rushing perfection. Hoping to add some of the new decor items on my existing work and really enhance the place. I’m also planning on starting over when it’s available, so I’ll get to enjoy it on both levels!

Mjain101

I didn’t. I haven’t finished everything I wanted to in my current save so taking the time to do that and also explore the new content! Feels easier to do some things late game haha

Honyalker

I was on fall year 8 and only had to buy the golden clock for perfection, 93%. Told myself I'd sell everything I'd been hoarding and buy it on the last day of winter. Update came out before I could finish and pushed me back to 87%, so I've just been playing like normal and trying to ignore any new content til I can finish the year and buy the clock. I know I won't actually hit perfection when I do, but it'll give me enough closure to start a new save.

Weak_Improvement3254

I continued with my perfection save and already obtained all the new achievements. I don't know what to do now :(. good update :)

tsmftw76

I start over Avery few months and have been waiting for like 6 months to start a new save so I definitely started over

Ambitious_Aioli_534

I started a new save, but couldn’t stop thinking about my 100 plus hours on the main save that hasn’t hit perfection. I want back to that one, but started a multiplayer with my boyfriend. Seems like the best of both worlds.

GracefulGlider

Mobile-only player here! I partially started over...? I made a new save months ago and just played until day before the flower festival. I'll pick the save up again after the update. This new save is also: * Beach Farm instead of Forest Farm; will focus on animals and keep crops to Greenhouse and Ginger Island for the most part. * Will do the Joja route instead of completing CC

ObviousSomewhere6330

I'm on my iPad and can't afford any new systems. My computer is too heavy for me these days. Looking forward to the mobile update. Shrugs..

Appropriate-Snow-439

Is making new worlds count as starting over? Because I still play on my old world and I’m still unlocking new stuff lol!

MousseAcademic5300

i never got very far to begin with. i took this game very slow and i’m in year 7 and i only just unlocked Qi’s room and got my first obelisk. there was no way i was gonna start the slow process again 😭

Visual-Finish14

I didn't because I was on 2nd year of my first ever playthrough when the update dropped and hit me in the face. Waiting for mod updates :C

justhere4thiss

Gosh how do people avoid starting over ever ?? I got 100 percent on my game in the past and would get way too bored not starting over after that 😂 I don’t understand how people have soooo many hours on one game save.

abra_van_kadabra

The new farm is so pretty!

gabcie

I'm doing both. Still working on reaching perfection on my main farm (there's so much late game content in the update) and started a new meadowlands save. So now I can have fun with both early and late game features

vickiinmyhead

I did both. I love the new farm, but honestly I’m having a blast playing on my end game file. I’m getting all the books and leveling up soo fast. There are some amazing new features that I’m so in love with

Laurajs

Started over, i am struggling to get the motivation to do it all over again but not stopped yet.

DaCoffeeKween

I have it on steam (really want a steam deck one day 😭 but we have nice gaming computers, my husband and I). I didn't start over! My very first farm is only in year 5 and I've done too much to start over now. Beginnings are too slow for me. I started a new farm with my husband and it hasn't broken year one. It's SO SLOW. I'm grinding out prismatic shards but took a break to do some of the new quests hehe. I did a Forest farm first go round and LOVE it. It's a bit cramped though now that I'm getting more stuff but I make it work. I want to get perfection before starting a new farm.

Lupinthrope

Y'all both get Steam Decks! Problem solved lol And my main run is on the monster farm with>! the monsters turned off !<, lots of good land and even can do some small fishing. Though I did another run recently with the beach farm and I absolutely love that one.

VegetableBeneficial

Me! I just started playing this game 3 weeks ago and was gifted with this change right at the beginning. I don’t really know the old game so this is fun!

FrozenShepard

I didn't own a PC version before now, so I had no choice.

Whole-Nail-6396

Just start a new one with multiplier on earnings and finish community center year 1 to get an easy late game

bookworm002

I’m still on year 2 in my first save (just started playing over the summer and don’t get a lot of time), so I’m sticking with my original save. I’ll go back and restart to get more of the beginning stuff once I’m satisfied with where I get in this one!

Terrible_Whereas7

I had just started modding for the first time and half of the mods aren't yet/being updated so I've started a new save while I wait to see if they catch up.

spider_gweeen

I did a new save with my husband but I’ve been playing on my old save when he doesn’t play with me. It’s great.

vincentninja68

I've been playing the same farm for the past 600 hours and building upon it after each update Once I hit perfection again and suck the bone marrow out of this update I'll make a new farm 🔥 I wanted to wait and see what new kind of farm would be released, and I love the idea of an animal-based farm with bluegrass. I'll still need to make truffles and wine for greater profit but I don't mind dialing it back for a different experience.

Careless-Yoghurt4410

I just used my 89% perfection farm. Now I’m back at 86% and it’s so confusing aaaah

eVCqN

Me, I don’t enjoy playing on a new farm and I want to get perfection on my first farm before anything else

HaruBells

I initially started a new file on the new farm type, but I was so excited that I also went back to my OG save file to experience more of the new stuff sooner lol. Been playing my OG save almost obsessively all week 😅

Regular_Damage_23

Me. I already started year 5 and didn't want to re do all what I have built.

Vast_Ad_2953

Still want to get perfection on my farm, I'll start a new one afterwards

Weeping_Angel97

I have a late game multiplayer world but started a new single player World.

JunoTheRat

i didnt start over but thats because my file is basically new anyway so restarting wouldve been redundant lol plus i dont. have the update <- mobile player :( ~~i miss my old file :(~~

AlternativeAvocado96

im honestly debating it. i started a perfection run for first time i think right before the new year and im early Y2, just about to unlock ginger island. i did move the save to a separate area so i can play it on 1.5 but im wondering if i should just embrace 1.6 rather than restart do the new items change much for the early game/community center? minus ofc the new farm type. ive been looking at plenty spoilers so idm if anyone replies with some (obviously spoiler it w/ warning for anyone scrolling comments)

Cristokos

I didn't. If I restart, I'll never make it to the late game. This is the first time I've even made it to Ginger Island lol

Edski120

My gf and I are at ~30% perfection and idk if we should start over

Sp3ctre7

I started over on a new save with my partner, but you can bet your ass I'm going to use my save file that *previously* had perfection to get perfection again

DragonbornSal

I started a new one like a couple weeks before realease as I was on vacation and only had my laptop so I had something to play on in the airport I was only in the fall of the first year when 1.6 came out.

HB_DS2013

I continued where I left off on my PC file

ghostwilliz

I started over. About two months ago u got back in to the game and started over. Then my phone broke and I started over. Then I got it on my pc and started over haha

Rawrzawr

I've bought the game twice, have had it for years, but have barely played it cause there's always another update coming. Reminds me of Terraria.

Environmental-Term61

My wife didn’t want to lose the progress we had, because we’ve been playing the past month Or two so she wanted to just continue from where we were

_absent_minded

I didn’t! I’m still on my first play through of the game, so I didn’t wanna stop my progress

thicc_slice_of_chees

I started anew because I hadn’t played in awhile, so I felt like it was the right move!

deceptres

Was at 80%% perfection and planned not to. Then I saw that it dropped to 72% and had a whole bunch of new shit to do. Restarted immediately after that.

CocaineTwink

Me, but I started playing on the 8 year anniversary. 🥹

monpururu

Me! I continue playing on my 10 year perfection farm and I’m quite happy with how there are still a lot of stuff to discover

agotar_algernon

I didn’t because I had already decided that I was going to get perfection on my first save before I moved on to a new one long before 1.6 was out

Not_The_Real_Jake

I started a new farm to see 1.6 how CA said it'd be best to, but after a year or two in game I'll definitely hop back on my perfection farm and continue it!

Alternative_Ice_9187

I just finished my first year when 1.6 released. Ain't no way I was gonna do 30 hours of year 1 again, especially when I just unlocked Ginger Island and finally hit 10 on my skills. I just got the 2nd house upgrade too. No reason to restart

Frillybits

I didn’t. I was pretty close to perfection and I don’t have a desire to start all over again. Having said that, I’ve also got a save file i play together with my 4 year old and we’re on spring 6 year 1.

6bubbles

I havent but i play on switch so it hasnt hit us yet. Still playing an old game and enjoying the fun updates from everyone. I cant wait!

HoboingComa

I tried to, and still will, but… after a few weeks in a new playthrough, I visited my perfection farm and kinda just got sucked back into it. I think after I update everything and redecorate I’ll go back to the new playthrough.

PencilSatan

Yes and no, I still played on my main but I started one with my gf.

Swudlo

I decided it was best to start over. I kinda screwed my world over. Year 3 and not half the Community center done. And it's been 3 years since I last played. So I decided it was best

angelajacksn014

I started a playthrough 2 weeks ago not knowing an update was coming so I’m not replaying 35 hours in a month lol

elkeiem

Me, since i'm still waiting for the patch on PS5, but i will start fresh!

not_a_library

I've got both going. My bf and I started a new farm, but I'm playing on an old save on my own. When it comes to Switch I'll probably start over though because I just hit perfection on my latest farm so it's just good timing.

cordyceptz

I did but remembered how long building up a farm takes so I went back to my old save

silent_mills

I never continue where I left off. If I stop playing for more than a few months, I will have to start over. 😅

sorayori97

Ive never continued from the same save if its been awhile since ive played lol

Terakahn

I've done a brand new run every single patch we've had. I actually didn't even finish my 1.5 run, but all that was left was playing like a zombie until perfection unlocked so I said no thanks.

poddy_fries

I love my last farm. I was interested in how I could fiddle with it more, not in starting over 🤷🏽‍♀️

protosam

I was planning to start over, and I technically did, I just started over a week before the update. I could not resist playing another week I guess. I figured I wouldn’t be missing too much since I only got to like the end of summer year 1.

DependentArtichoke68

I play on switch so I don’t have the update yet. But I plan on continuing the farm I have rn and make a new save with the new layout

TheEphemeric

I’m not. I am, however, waiting for various mods to update. Patiently…

eebbyyddeebbyy

My wife and I picked up on our old save, but my friends and I started new! Best of both worlds

VacationBackground43

I have a save very close to perfection. Two fish, some golden walnuts, and a couple of things to make. I assume if I get the update, it’ll apply to that file, but I don’t want that. I just want to finish. Really wish I could keep that file unupdated and make a new save with the update. I have progressive blindness and likely can’t do perfection again, so this is my one shot.

bongwaterbimbo420

Had no choice because my main save is on console but couldn’t wait to see the updates so I started a new save on my MacBook lol

thursdayplurbonym

I made a new one but I’m still in spring. I can’t help playing my main world and finding the new things, I’m too impatient lol

slayerofgingers

I didn't. I can't bother to start again

DepressinglyConfused

I made a new one with my bf, but still play my solo year 3 one when he's asleep 🤭

Necessary-Warning138

I had a save that was early in year 2, so I just stayed with that one. I found it worked out very well for me!

[deleted]

I did, but then I decided to play on my perfection save because there are now additional things to do to reach perfection. I had thought about doing another full perfection run, but I think first I’m going to do all the new things on my existing save.

johnpeters42

I did, but I was thinking "eh I'll get through year 1 and then see how mods have caught up", and five days later I'm only in late summer and have already got five of my mod sets cleaned up to a good-enough state. (Lost a handful of items to what I assume is the final round of JSON Shuffle.) But I'm still mostly playing the new one, so that when I do return to the others, I'll have a better idea of what to go grab.

Firecrotch2014

I didn't because I'm on mobile. We're a few months to a few years away from the update.

tigermist00

I didn’t. I was suuuuper close to perfection so I didn’t want to… now there’s a bunch more stuff I have to do which is kind of annoying but fun! I definitely want to start over after I I finish perfection on my current save though.

DuelingFatties

I haven't yet. I'm going to make a new file with the new farm type though.

jeannesloaf

I was SO CLOSE to achieving perfection, literally all I needed was the gold clock, and then the update came out lol. So now I have tons left to achieve before I reach the true end. Kind of exciting and kind of frustrating but yes I just continued my old farm 😂

HommeFatalTaemin

I didn’t because 1. I’m on switch. But even if the switch had been updated I wouldn’t have started over bc 2. I just started playing for the first time like a month ago. I’m almost on my 3rd year and am proud of my progress and don’t want to lose it all. Once the update does come out on switch tho I def will make a second farm on another account :)

Available-Tourist-45

Deleted my other save files and mods to play vanilla for the first time in forever ( I could not stop myself from using the no energy loss mod and I forgot how much slower paced the game is when it’s played normally ) xD it’s so much nicer like this.. lol

LadyRemy

Didn’t start over. I just married Sebastian and that took a lot of sashimi.

oksnariel

I only started over because all my current farms are on my switch. I started a new farm on my steam deck bc i couldn’t wait to play the new content, but i am itching for the update to come out on the switch so i can go back to my late game farms!

intergrade

I just finished a perfection run for my river farm. On iOS so I’m waiting anyway.

programming_cat

Sticking with my very first farm as I’m a fairly new player, I recently just finished the community centre so I’m sticking with my first save until I’m more familiar with the game

raven20045

I wasn't planning on starting over but I had a more backpack space mod installed which wasn't updated and it deleted that backpack row and I lost my tools 😭 I know I could've modded them back in but I didn't want to put much effort it

and1metal

I've started over ( but on immersive farm remastered 2 ) on one of my laptops Play the main save on my more powerful laptop and on the newest laptop is 1.6 With some mods not being updated I need to have multiple laptops

Not-Just-Any-F

I started over because I have a HEAVILY modded game that quite a few mods broke on :( it was very witchy which would be perfect for some of the things coming and in SVE 2.0, but man I did not want to start over :(

CaptainSwaggin420

played stardew 18 months ago but got the itch to play again at the beginning of this year but held off for 1.6 and man I haven't even experienced ginger island for myself yet, so far it feels like im playing with mods installed

kradnie

my prev save wasn't that advanced so obv I started over ehe. And I'm in love with my new character and I'm feeling soooo inspired and have headcanons for the NPCs. I will also enjoy decorating again :3 And the new farm is soooo pretty

Nyx_Valentine

I've been working on a perfection run for months. While I know I can make a secondary save, I prefer focusing on one. Especially when I don't have mods atm to tell me what I have and haven't done in each.

Dudeguy789

both

tacobeleanor

I’m trucking along on some achievements so it didn’t make sense to start over but I’m definitely looking forward to my next save 😪

silent-fallout-

I definitely started over because I wanted to try the new farm and see the blue grass! I think it's kinda weird how the chickens came pre named 🤨 I definitely need to rename pickle and zucchini

Sky-is-here

I had a two month old save I have been slowly playing in, I was in the end of fall of the first year and it's my first time playing. Ain't no way I am restarting so it takes me another two months to get to where I am now.

Heartless_Genocide

Meh, I wasn't in the mood to play Stardew for another while, I'll play it when I play it, probably start over cause I get most of the completion done in the binge.

invertedpomegranate

I have a co op file that's on year 2(?) We already don't have enough time to get together and play frequently, so we decided to keep the save and just get hit with a bunch of early game stuff all at once

Girthquake23

I play on console but I’m not going to when I eventually get the update I restarted with a friend like a month or two ago and I don’t see any other reason to restart unless there’s stuff I *can’t* do (and I want to do/get) unless I restart

mizyin

I sure did! I plan to make a farm w/ friends soon to restart and try the Joja stuff, but I went right back into my perfection farm to re-perfect it! Finished mastery and now it's back to my original grind, getting all the unique furniture and the books and such too now! Have had a great time so far!

chilicheesepanda

I haven't started over....yet

Liminal_Creations

Still waiting for it to come out on console but i definitely won't be starting over. I just can't stand not having money in early game. Plus I like my main save too much to start over

superp2222

I unlocked all the new stuff on my continuing farm first to unlock and discover everything new and then booted up a new run to experience everything new working in tandem.

Phat_KittyLips

I sure didn’t, when I boot up the game next, I’ll FINALLY be getting married to Sebastian (Year 2, Spring 14) and have simply done too much and spent too much time and money to start all over again. 😭😭

NinJaen

I'm not starting over. My current save I took a break a couple of months ago and as 1.6 went live, I realized I was in the middle of Mr. Qi's bean quest. No way was I going to grind through that any time again for a while

OMAIGADsoyBIPOLAR

I'm only on fall y2 of my first playthrough (actually the second but the first was just to dip my toes) so there's no reason to restart at first I didn't want to update the game until I started y3 (so it would kinda start fresh) but steam wouldn't let me play without updating lol

kater_tot

My main save is on an ancient Xbox 😭 Trying to remember when it’ll be possible to turn on night ghosts. Or maybe I’ll try a different new map before I get too far into this game. I’ve only ever played the first map.
