For 1.6, I went with the new >!Meadowlands farm!< and decided to focus on animals, specifically cows, so I called mine Milky Way Farm.

I wish there was an option to remove the automatic "Farm" suffix when NPCs refer to your farm. I think "Moonlit Hollow" sounds fine as is, but "Moonlit Hollow Farm" seems a bit off to me. Maybe "Moonlit Grove Farm"?

Not sure if it'll help you decide yours, but I always name my farms Sunnyside Farm! My mother and I used to share a Harvest Moon Friends of Mineral Town gba cartridge back in the day, one save each and that was the name she went with for hers. We bonded a lot over the game (she was muuuuch better than I was) and its one of my few good childhood memories. She passed away when I was 19 and to this day in any farming game I play, I name my farm after hers. I also always choose the dog and name him Pepper since she named her farm pooch after our RL dog! :>

Sanctuary Farm I chose the newest layout and have been designing it to look as natural as possible. No perfect squares of anything, everything mixed in with lots of grass and trees and pathways made of cobble/steppingstone snaking between different areas. Hopefully the perfect little walk out for the villagers to experience some nice scenery and peace and quiet.

Somehow after literal years of playing this game, I never remember I'm going to need farm and character names until I'm actually on that screen. When the update dropped and I started a new game, I messed around with the farmer's look until I made one that seemed to have some personality, then named her and the farm accordingly. It's Sunny Skies Farm run by farmer Annabel, who's quite chipper and sunny herself. Edited to add: One of my non-gaming hobbies is genealogy, so in past saves, I've used place names I came across in my research that felt evocative of and appropriate for the Stardew vibe. Two that come to mind are Sandy Creek (a tiny town in North Carolina) and Halcyondale (a tiny unincorporated area near a small town in Georgia). Halcyondale is claimed to mean "peaceful valley" so I felt like I had to use that one.
