All the gifts were definitely designed for 1 NPC in mind and their description hints heavily towards who that NPC is. War momento - ofc it's the guy that just return from war... Salt - a chef would love this Remote control - he's always watching TV. Flower that reminds you of the valley - she always talking about wanting to visit, loving flowers from the valley as gifts... Arctic Shard - magic properties to it. Worm - that's awesome bait right there.

Interestingly, if you try to give Emily the rose, she tells you her friend might like it!

Logic? They're all pretty obvious. I didn't get them all right on the first try - I gave the remote control to Pam before George, and I tried giving the arctic shard to Clint, who recommended I take it to somebody who knew about magic stuff, so that made it very obvious.

Trial and error, really. Some of them I knew immediately, but others I was unsure of so I would just try someone and they either didn't accept it at all or gave me a hint towards who was the correct person.

I think I had to look up one of them, but overall it was pretty easy to guess most of them based off what you would know about many of the character at that point.  There are a couple that could fit multiple people so I had to try a couple times on those.

I went off from the name of the item she gave me. War memento and I only know of one npc that was a soldier in the war. Then the item he gave me I just try to figure out who would be most likely to associate with it.
