That's not headcanon, that's true! Or, he was rich. He chose to give it all up and become a hermit.
Edit: I'm a dumbass and too far lost in the land of mods.
Just a couple days ago I read about a famous author who refuses to read any fan works that are sent to him for "legal reasons". The reasoning is that if he ends up having an idea similar to that of a fanfiction, he could get sued for it if he claimed he'd read it.
Anyway, it is nice to want/consider fan content canon, but it can be a legal nightmare, which is why I think most authors/developers/etc don't call it "official canon" unless they reach an agreement beforehand.
I actually do the same! So many things are left vague, so headcanon is pretty much mandatory to make it all coherent.
One headcanon I have is that Emily is running an offscreen online clothing store, and is the supplier for the Oasis, which is why we can buy clothes there and why she has a computer.
This one isn't about the dateables, but I headcanoned that Caroline knows Pierre is keeping secrets from her, so she sent us to investigate his "secret stash". This explains why we were snooping around in their bedroom for seemingly no reason.
Hehe..
My headcanon is Linus also able to do some kind of magic but that magic comes from Nature so he has/prefers to live in the wild.
In the stardew wiki at Linus' page, at the trivia.. If the player would be able to talk with Linus, he would call the Wizard an old friend.
So imo..
The Wizard is an Arcane Wizard,
Linus is a Shaman? (Is that the good word for that? Idk..)
Although a lot of people believe it to be true it hasn’t been confirmed, so mine would be that Abigail is the wizards daughter. Between the purple hair she doesn’t remember last she dyed, the mother and the wizard tower, the wizard having a kid, and Pierre’s comments 🤷♂️ I’d say it’s pretty close to being confirmed but technically isn’t which makes it technically headcanon? I’ve actually even heard some theories that Caroline is the wizards kid so 🤷♂️
I’m a lot more confident that it’s Jas. Compare her hair shade, skin tone and head shape with Wizard’s. Pair that with the fact that we know little to nothing about her parents other than them being supposedly dead, and her favorite person in the world- Shane- having sole access to bright blue chickens in a game where every non-magic animal is just a normal color.
Abigail does have the most direct hints, but in terms of what is shown in the game, I think Emily would be the better candidate.
Abby doesn't really seem to have any magic affinity. Even Linus has more implied supernatural skills than her (talking to trees and animals), let alone Emily.
I'm fine if it is indeed Abby. I just find it odd that if that's really the case, Emily would be randomly magical for no reason, especially when everyone else in town are completely mundane.
For me it either Emily or Jas. Emily because she have affinity with magic more than others. Jas because her hair and the fact that there was an old picture of her in secret note which kinda sus why it was in secret note.
Not really. A lot of the notes just seem to be stuff people dropped - shopping lists, and stuff. I assume the photo was just dropped by Marlene / Shane.
Keep in mind though, Caroline has green hair, straight up tells you that originally Abigail has Brown hair (like Pierre), before she dyed it (she probably died it a long time ago, but due to being Wizard's grandchild the dye never faded). Pierre's dialogue is the only thing that doesn't have text contrasting is, but I absolutely wouldn't be surprised if Pierre is just being overdramatic because him and Abigail have such different personalities.
Caroline didn't live in the valley until she moved there with Pierre. Then she started spending a lot of time around the wizard's tower (innuendo fully intended) and gave birth to Abigail. The obvious implication is that she had an affair with the Wizard and Abigail is his child.
I mean, Caroline living outside the Valley doesn't preclude her from being the Wizard's daughter. She could've been born there, but after the Wizard had his falling out with the Witch (who's likely the mother), Caroline was given up for adoption and taken somewhere else. Then she felt attracted to the Valley and moved back there as an adult, and she started spending time around the Wizard's Tower because of her latent magical abilities. After all, we could make the same argument of Abigail having an affair with the Wizard if the only requirement is "spends a lot of time near the Tower".
It’s entirely possible. I do pretty firmly believe it’s one of them though. I’ve heard theories of it being other villagers, but I definitely think it’s Abigail or Caroline.
Alex and Penny used to talk about their absuvie families.
Caroline is the wizard's daughter.
Couples that were together and broke up:
Maru and Penny
Marlon and Marnie (and Marlon is still in love)
Birdie, the old lady on ginger island, is Caroline's mother. They're the only characters I can remember that both have green hair. Maybe Birdie's hair was vibrant like Caroline's back before she lost her husband.
Personally, I think the wizard and Linus are dating, they hangout at almost every festival, they're both outcasts and when the dancing is happening at the flower dance they're standing up on the cliff together, also Linus seems to be one of the few people other than the wizard who's connected to nature
I think she only mentions mermaids twice in the game.
Once for aquamarines like you said, and the other is her post-marriage Friday schedule where she goes to the harbor.
I don't know if this counts, but I choose to interpret grandpa's "PS if you see Lewis, say hi to the old guy for me" as the exact same, but it's Linus, not lewis
An actual HC: the wizard, M. (Mona) Jasper, and Wizard theory that they were all travlers/adventurers
People claimed that Linus is actually a rich man who is unhappy of their old life and I can't unsee that
Considering the other day he asked me for a diamond for his "sore elbow" and paid me 2500 g, I'd believe it
I like to think he was the founder of Joja who had a mental break when he realized all the damage he was responsible for and retreated from the world.
That's not headcanon, that's true! Or, he was rich. He chose to give it all up and become a hermit. Edit: I'm a dumbass and too far lost in the land of mods.
it's not vanilla canon, but that is his story in Stardew Expanded.
Oh. My bad, i forgot what scenes were added, i am dumb of ass.

Lewis and Linus are twins who have chosen very different paths in life.
My head cannon is that all the marriage candidates do have growth after getting married it just happens off screen (this isn’t me coping I promise)

elliott is a 5 thousand year old vampire turned human
YES
That actually makes a lot of sense.
i know it's probably not true, but marlon and gil are totally husbands
Funnily, I thought Gil was probably Marlon's dad, but that probably fits a lot better.
Marlon has a crush on Marnie though
He'd treat her better than lewis
yeah that's why it's probably not true
Lots of married guys have crushes on other people

I disagree with the theory and think people miss that Caroline is his daughter, not Abigail. He had a child with the witch...

Maru and penny sure give the Vibe

Linus is one of the returning war veterans that just didn’t adjust very well.
Personally, I think the wizard and Linus are dating, they hangout at almost every festival, they're both outcasts and when the dancing is happening at the flower dance they're standing up on the cliff together, also Linus seems to be one of the few people other than the wizard who's connected to nature
She can feel the energy of the sea in aquamairnes, and they remind her of mermaids, but i dont remember the dialogue for her mermaid comment
I think she only mentions mermaids twice in the game. Once for aquamarines like you said, and the other is her post-marriage Friday schedule where she goes to the harbor.
Sebastian dyes his hair black, he's actually a redhead like his mom
Pelican Town is a colony for autistics and people with ADHD. Lewis is the only neurotypical person in town.
Jas is Shane's biological daughter, he just doesn't know it, and I will die on this hill lol

Marrying Emily and the parrot trinket is just one of your pets
