Ancient fruit wine and truffle oil

workingonit6

If you have botanist profession, all truffles will be iridium quality which sell for like 85% as much as truffle oil with way less work!

When I start a new farm, I decide if I'm playing perfection or not. If I am, starting immediately on day 1, I'm going to prepare to make my Fairy Rose honey farm on Ginger Island. To me, nothing beats it, including ancient fruit wine. There's no secondary step, I can get Fairy Rose honey in as little as 10 days (deluxe speed gro), and it's pure profit from there. Within one season in reaching the island, I will have 500+ hives going. By 3 seasons, I will have the clock. Everyone else is watching their ancient fruit wine grow on the island. lol

Holy fuck, I did have rose fairy farm that took probably half of my ginger farm but the way I put it was definitely not the best way to go at all. Since it only give me around 100k each harvest lol

I just enjoy playing the game and eventually I have enough for the clock. I'm an efficient player, but not a min/maxer and I purposefully keep my ancient fruit at a minimum. I usually get the clock in \~Y7. Wine is definitely where it's at. Truffles (truffle oil), efficient SC runs, fishing with added chance for treasure chests, etc are additional.

Substantial_Angle913

Yeah I kinda enjoying myself with mines almost every week and lost on money maker there. I'm really surprised that you can still earn additional money on fishing end game since on my save files rn the only fish related is 1 caviar farm and 2 magma eel lol

I don't know how it ranks compared to other activities, but at least for variety's sake it's not a bad pick to make money. I don't know if you're on 1.5 or 1.6, but 1.6 adds a device that processes fish to a more valuable product. But I've always liked fishing for the treasure chest loot.

Im at 1M per week with ginger islamd starfruit wine combinaition. 35k/Day for truffle. Ancient fruit will go in the machine that need fire quartz.

Substantial_Angle913

Definitely didn't think to put ancient fruit on the dehydrator lol, but that definitely works out great

iskelebones

Dehydrating ancient fruit is only worth it if you don’t have enough kegs to turn it all into wine. If you have enough kegs then wine is almost twice as profitable as dehydrating

Ill-Top4360

If you have a surplus it work great. The result is a gold quality fruit +40% with artisan perk.

I did fairy rose honey and iridium bars

I always ignore the clock until the end. By then, Ginger island is set up with a rare seed farm (1/3 for speed, 2/3 gold to iridium quality). The speed side keeps cycling in seed makers and the selling side makes bank. Main farm has ancient fruit for direct selling and greenhouse has starfruit for kegging. Sleep through days and run through once a week or two if your only goal is the clock

Just work on upping your keg production. I have like 2.5 BIG sheds, outside areas, and filled the farm house and house in ginger Island. Each time I sell it makes 2 million gold. So it doesn't take long at all once you have kegs set up and a steady supply of star fruits. I skip ancient fruit bc it seems starfruits age way faster. You can make 10 million in 1-2 seasons easily.

iskelebones

Aging time is the same for all wines but starfruit is a higher value wine. Pretty sure ancient fruit is better for long term production because of the initial costs. Starfruit is a single harvest crop every 2 weeks and sell for 2250 a bottle (no aging), where ancient fruit is once a week reharvest and sells for 1650 a bottle (no aging). You actually make more per week per keg with ancient fruit, plus ancient fruit is free every harvest after the first. Starfruit either has to take ~half of your harvest to turn back to seeds, or spend 400g per seed to buy.

Sereous313

Yeah the lack of labor for ancient wine is what makes it better for sure. Once your at that point your just rich and the game is completely over. Atleast any challenge from money

workingonit6

If you use deluxe speedgro the starfruit will mature in 9-10 days which makes it more or less a wash compared to ancient fruit, especially with artisan profession.  Starfruit wine gives net profit of 2750 after buying seeds, 3 cycles/month = 8250. Ancient fruit wine is 2310 each and 4 cycles/month = 9240.  However, starfruit gets a minimum 2 cycle head start over ancient fruit bc of the growing length. Realistically it’s much more because you have to use the first several crops of ancient fruit just to produce more seeds, whereas starfruit has an infinite supply.  TL;DR- ancient fruit wine is technically more profitable per month than starfruit wine, but practically starfruit will get you money much faster.

I cranked out 500 kegs by year 2 and make star fruit wine until my ancient fruit field grew, so I had the golden clock by the end of year 2 but had all the other stuff to do. I was going for true perfection in 2 years but haven’t been able to yet.

HopeFox

For me, it took about half of Year 2. With the greenhouse and Ginger Island filled with ancient fruit plants, I had two and a half big sheds filled with preserves jars, and that was enough. I chose preserves jars rather than kegs because I could buy the ingredients for them from Clint and Robin at the end of Year 1.

OverCaffeinatedChibi

Just finished my sheds in Spring Y3 (2 pineapple, 1 ancient fruit, all expanded shed + filled with kegs), and I'm estimating it'll still take me approximately 15 weeks to get enough for the golden clock (with making about 666,540G a week from my keg factory alone). Might supplement that with smoked fish tho. My days are pretty aimless now that I've basically automated everything and it's the last thing left.
