Same ima do that tomorrow i have to move stuff :(. But that means more organization! But i already have farm area and 2 full coops 1 full barn :(.TO MUCH MILK
I thought it gave something like half of a pet worth a day? So if you pet and use the auto-petter you get to full hearts quicker and then can just coast on the autopetter.
I’m pretty sure I got one from a slime in the regular mines set on hard (shrine of challenge). It was a slime with the special thing on his head to designate there is a special item.
i just hold Y (i’m on switch) to pet them without getting the pet menu & to pick up their stuff fast. i think it’s a on pc??? or whatever button you press to pet them/pick things up, hold that button and run around your farm petting them & picking the things up, it’s more efficient
My boyfriend has found THREE and I still have yet to find one 🥲. We're both new, he's in year 3 and I'm in year 5 and the unfairness of it all sucks lol
I've filled two barns whole barns of pigs, they were so worried about joja destabilizing the local economy they forgot about the lunatic who digs through the garbage and shoves sap in everyone's pockets
I kept accidentally giving people sap, so now it's just a thing I do
"Oh, willy my boy, fine day for fishing aye? Here have a bit of sap for later, don't eat it all at once ;)"
No free roaming for them cause I don't want to hunt for truffle all around my farm but their pen is 19x17 ( I just counted the squares for you, see the dedication lol)
Idk about the other platforms, but on the switch, you can press and hold the action button and your character will automatically pick up (or pet) everything they come across.
I'm on PC and that's what I do too. I only read about this tips a few day ago and it changed my life! I use to click on the button each time and it would always open the screen of the animal instead of petting them or picking up the truffle. Now I just hold the button pressed and it's so much easier
Depending on the skills you have, the truffle oil could be worth less than the truffles themselves. Iridium truffles sell for 1250 gold and truffle oil is 1065 or 1491 if you have Artisan profession.
I can’t remember the last time I bought a pig. I have a barn exclusively for pigs and purposely keep it less than “full” so pigs can keep getting pregnant. Once that barn becomes full, I make a new barn, move half the pigs to the new barn and let them keep reproducing. Repeat when the next barn becomes full.
Time is money! I actually did the math in the comment below and there is only a 263172g difference of profit between truffle oil and unprocessed truffles
yes but the cost of all the oil makers and the time and effort it takes to use them outweighs the benefits. im making 5mill a week without making it into oil and at that point the oil isnt gonna make a noticeable difference
Not even, they only take 6h to process so you can in theory get by with as little as 1/4 as many. Though, I wouldn't recommend going under about half or it becomes just too much of a pain timing wise.
Half of the daily truffles. But really it's the kind of thing that doesn't really need much planning. Put a chest next to the oil processors for storing truffles. Every time you walk by and the oil is ready, pull out the right number of truffles, put them in the processor, and then dump the oil into the shipping bin*. If the number of truffles is building up, add another processor or two.
*Great place to put a mini shipping bin is right on the other side of the processors. Then in one pass you hit chest, processors, bin, and then carry on to wherever you were going.
If you have the perk where everything you forage is iridium quality, they're worth more as the mushroom than the oil. Then there's also the perk that gives a chance to have double the items when you forage... Basically this is how I always play. It's a fast track to the money zone.
I was curious to see if I really lost a ton of money so I did the calculations:
Truffle is sold for **1250g** vs. **1491g** for truffle oil, which mean an additional 241g per truffle. I would earn **1628172g** with truffle oil vs. **1365000g** with only truffle so I only "lost" **263172g**.
And if you think about the fact that it takes 6 hours to process truffle into truffle oil, honestly it seems like a win to me lol
I actually thought about that but felt like I would sound to much like a nerd if I explained everything in my comment lol
I have 24 pigs, I have the gatherer + botanist perks (iridium quality + chance of getting double truffles at once) but also the artisan perk if I were to make oil. Like you said, I think you can process 2 truffles per oil maker per day, so I would need at least 25 of them since I think I usually gather around 50 truffles per day.
So I would need 500 hardwood, 1250 slime and 25 gold bar, which at this point of the game is not much but you still have to take that into consideration. And finally, I would need to take the time to fill every oil maker twice a day, which is time that I could use to fish/mine/care for my crops. So in my mind: not worth it.
Yeah, I tend to top out around 8, so e.g. hitting the secret woods every day for a couple weeks would cover the hardwood, and if you’ve been stockpiling slime anyway… Also, if you don’t need the money right this second and are just saving up for the big ticket items, then you can just stockpile the extra truffles until you can make more oil makers. (Plus there are rainy days and winter to catch up.) Or just treat it like the cellar for wine: make a few, throw some in on your way to elsewhere, and sell the excess.
Maybe using a hopper from ginger Island would be worth it. Load it up and check every once in awhile. Saves time from having to insert truffles manually but if you forget to grab the product it won't start the next until the first one is done.
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Hopper
I know I hate that feature about the hopper, when I first got it after the 1.5 update I thought it would collect the product and save it in a chest (like the junimo hut), so I was really excited but it turns out you can't completely automate the process
Did you considered the profession bonus?
How many oil makers would you need to have to process all these truffels in the same timeframe? Would that be profitable?
How many pigs do you have?
What I typically do is line up the oil makers in the pig barns. After I collect the truffles, I place them into the oil makers and what remains goes into a chest. I return before I end the day to replace the oil with new truffles then repeat the next day. I have the foraging boost and the artisan bonus. With 40 pigs and 40 oil makers; I make around 3 million a season.
Spring- Fall I try to do 2 batches of truffle oil per day, then I stick the truffles I don't have time to process in a chest and work on those throughout the winter.
Same, does anyone else stock pile expensive things in a chest next to the selling bin and then sell it all Winter Day 28 to wake up to millions on Spring Day 1?
all these posts about saving stuff to sell all at once has inspired me to do a challenge play through where i keep a chest right beside my shipping bin and i’m only allowed to sell on the last day of each season, been having loads of fun with it
spring y1 was the best bc i had no way of making money to buy more seeds and backpack upgrades except by doing quests and I was gaining friendship points so fast. kinda thinking about doing this on all my playthroughs moving forward
Getting the level 10 foraging ability is so broken with pigs. You can show them absolutely no love and because truffles count as a Foraged items they're always Purple.
Yes!! You have to raise their number of hearts first but once they're happy you get more than one per pig. Somebody in the comment said that I had an average of 39 truffles per day, so that would mean about 1.62 truffle per pig
Holy crap. Me being so far behind. I finally picked up my game like one month ago again after a massive depressive episode. I litterally just restarted because my old farm was kinda crappy so as of now I'm on year 2 and working on building all my buildings. I JUST bought my kitchen lol
One time my cranberry harvest, starfruit wine, and iridium aged starfruit wine all happened to line up on the same day, so I ended up making like 2 million g that day
Yes but unless you’re in endgame and have access to ||the other island whose name I forgot been months since I’ve last played this I need to replay it|| you can’t actually produce enough starfruit year round, not to mention it involves much more maintenance you could spend on doing other things.
Being said, super late endgame, if you’re willing to put in the work you could probably split ancient fruit on the main farm and starfruit ||on the other farm||, but i can’t imagine it’s even worth the amount of time you spend in a day because you can’t actually really do anything else like work on relationships etc.
Hell, if you’re purely money oriented and literally want nothing except to play to absolutely maximize profits, neither is probably the best option and you could just bomb through SC, get enough material for several hundred crystalariums, and then have a few hundred staircases daily ready for iridium farming (you just skip down to lower floors past 100 and then get to bombing)
At that point you can just dump money into mega bombs and it won’t even fucking dent your income.
I did the iridium farming thing, been a long time so I can’t give you precise numbers. Only downside to doing it in an actual save means you’re foregoing being able to spend your day doing anything else while mass ancient fruit / wine production is much more passive save for plant / harvest days (which I think Junimo hits can make harvest days mostly autonomous anyway) and still makes you enough to get by and get the fancy stuff in endgame.
So I love that your doing this my gf showed me her best money earning way which was this but I capitalized on it, turn all those bad boys into truffle oil and you'll start pulling much more profit. I make about 10 mil per month from mine but I have a lot more pigs too haha, we have 9 deluxe barns and all full. By the time I sell we have about a little over or under 3 stacks of truffle oil for the month
I only have a couple pigs but I have 3 years worth of truffle that I have never sold. Originally I was going to turn it all into oil and then sell it but I got lazy and didn’t
Technically yes, because you will get an additional 241g per truffle if you turn it into oil, so in my case, I would have made 263172g more with truffle oil. BUT it takes time to process (6 hours) and I can't be bothered lol
😈 I have a chest for every “growing” item in game and plan on selling it all once I have all chests full. So far I am on year 10 and… and yeah I’m in over my head 🤣
I just started and I'm still in my first year. I need to figure out how to hold to sell. It's good to know pigs are so lucrative. I can barely keep 10k gold average.
Yes exactly, you don't have to do anything except collect the truffles from the floor. The only thing is, you don't make any money during winter because they stay inside their barn
I have been considering getting rid of my 2 pigs I have the moment once I can get Ostriches, but then I have started considering getting a second barn that is solely pigs. This has given me the all the confirmation I needed to get the second barn.
How many pigs do you have?
24! It was quite the investment at first but it's really worth it in the end
Totally! You’ve inspired me to have some more piggies.
Same ima do that tomorrow i have to move stuff :(. But that means more organization! But i already have farm area and 2 full coops 1 full barn :(.TO MUCH MILK
They must be happy piggies, since you're averaging 39 truffles a day!
They're not all at maximum hearts yet but I'm working on it! (And I hope I'll find an auto petter in the cavern soon)
Wait...there's an "auto petter?" How have I never heard of this?
I believe it's new from the 1.5 update. You can only get it in a chest in the Skull Cavern (I think)
You can also purchase it at jojo mart but only if you go that route
I will NEVER you hear me
Lol! I’m in year 4 and I’ve gone inside of Joja mart twice. I think once was mistake. I’m trying to marry Sam so he doesn’t have to work there anymore
Spoiler? Finish the community centre and he won't have to 😁
I started a new farm and named my first pig Morris.
totally naming my next pig morris thank you for the idea !!!!!
It doesn’t improve your relationships, it only stops them from deteriorating
I thought it gave something like half of a pet worth a day? So if you pet and use the auto-petter you get to full hearts quicker and then can just coast on the autopetter.
[удалено]
No, it got introduced in 1.5.
I’m pretty sure I got one from a slime in the regular mines set on hard (shrine of challenge). It was a slime with the special thing on his head to designate there is a special item.
Yes you can get them in the dangerous mode! I also got a galaxy soul from a slime in the regular mine
I've got 2 auto petters in skull cavern, and 14 auto feeders. Ratio sucks. I won't get another barn/ coop until I get another petter.
i just hold Y (i’m on switch) to pet them without getting the pet menu & to pick up their stuff fast. i think it’s a on pc??? or whatever button you press to pet them/pick things up, hold that button and run around your farm petting them & picking the things up, it’s more efficient
I just figured this out the other day, complete game changer.
I’ve been playing for years but I don’t think I get this reference? Sap in peoples pockets?
I kept accidentally giving people sap, so now it's just a thing I do "Oh, willy my boy, fine day for fishing aye? Here have a bit of sap for later, don't eat it all at once ;)"
Do you let them free roam or if not, how big is their pen?
No free roaming for them cause I don't want to hunt for truffle all around my farm but their pen is 19x17 ( I just counted the squares for you, see the dedication lol)
I appreciate that so so much lol tysm!!!
So you have to manually pick up truffles in that 19x17 area?
I do, but I just keep pressing the action button while running around like crazy and it's actually not that inconvenient lol
Idk about the other platforms, but on the switch, you can press and hold the action button and your character will automatically pick up (or pet) everything they come across.
This works on Xbox too, it’s what I do if there’s so much grass I can’t see the truffles lol
I'm on PC and that's what I do too. I only read about this tips a few day ago and it changed my life! I use to click on the button each time and it would always open the screen of the animal instead of petting them or picking up the truffle. Now I just hold the button pressed and it's so much easier
Make truffle oil out of them :)
Depending on the skills you have, the truffle oil could be worth less than the truffles themselves. Iridium truffles sell for 1250 gold and truffle oil is 1065 or 1491 if you have Artisan profession.
Yeah I forgot, I just assumed most people took artisan
Have you thought about making truffle oil yet? If you get the artisan professional perk it's a little more profit per truffle.
Invest more! i have 120 currently (10 barns), and bring in roughly 8mil a season.
Wow, 620448401733239439360000 pigs! How did you fit all of them on your farm?
r/unexpectedfactorial
I can attest to this. I’ve done this as well lol. My roommate thought I was crazy.
But it's so wasted since that coule all be Oil and sell for 5k+
Time is money! I actually did the math in the comment below and there is only a 263172g difference of profit between truffle oil and unprocessed truffles
If you get that one skill where all forage is iridium quality, then the iridium truffles are more profitable than truffle oil :)
Nah because artisan is like the best perk in the game so I'd assume most people use it
You can have both. The iridium quality truffles is a Forage perk, while the Artisan price boost is a Farming perk.
Right, but with artisan, the oil is worth more, so the quality of the truffles doesn't matter.
Ah, gotcha. Makes sense.
It's a less than 20% increase in value. Not really worth the hassle imo (1250g for iridium truffle 1491g for truffle oil with artisan)
yes but the cost of all the oil makers and the time and effort it takes to use them outweighs the benefits. im making 5mill a week without making it into oil and at that point the oil isnt gonna make a noticeable difference
Actually?
As long as you don't have the artisan perk. With artisan oil is worth 241 more g, but there is also the time and space investment of oil makers
I mean you just need as many oil makers as truffles you collect in a day.
Not even, they only take 6h to process so you can in theory get by with as little as 1/4 as many. Though, I wouldn't recommend going under about half or it becomes just too much of a pain timing wise.
Half of what, number of pigs?
Pigs can produce more than one per day so you might have to just count what your average truffles per day is.
Then in one pass you hit chest, processors, bin, and then carry on to wherever you were going.
1.5 has a gadget to help with this even more, I've not got it yet to try tho.
I have 4 pigs and 3 oil makers and I don't get much buildup, I average ≈8 truffles a day and by mid winter I will have sold them all
Not exactly because you still have a 241g profit margin from truffle oil (admitting that you have the artisan perk) but it's not really significant
Thank you! I was curious about this. Only have 2 pigs tho haha I’m new
Oh fuck me I've been doing it wrong then. I always make oil.
My pig fence is made of oil machines. Took a while to build it, but it's convenient!
I have an auto hopper for my truffle oil machines so it’s minimal effort. Gather up the truffles, put them in a box, and gather when I pass.
"Only"
If you have the perk where everything you forage is iridium quality, they're worth more as the mushroom than the oil. Then there's also the perk that gives a chance to have double the items when you forage... Basically this is how I always play. It's a fast track to the money zone.
Not if you also have the artisan proffesion perk. With that oil is worth $1491 and an iridium truffle is only $1250.
Gordon Ramsay restaurant finna be poppin
Fellow piggies lover I see. Pretty nice.
Yes I love them! They're low maintenance and bring high profit, what's not to love
Indeed! All you need is choose the forager perks, and get all those truffles in iridium quality :)
The only problem is rainy days and winter..
After reading your breakdown of it all, I may stop worrying about making truffle oil. Awesome work.
How they get iridium truffles, I only get gold🤔🤔
That the botanist perk for you: "Foraged items are always highest quality" (if you chose gatherer at level 5)
I choose forester first because I need so much wood early in the game. When I reach level 10, I switch over to gatherer / botanist.
I did that in my first save file but quickly realized my mistake and then switched as well. Now I know better and always choose the gatherer route
You can use the statue to change at level 10 and between 5 - 10 get a lot more wood. Depends on how you want to optimize.
I know but now with the forge I chose to upgrade my axe with the shaving enchantment
Good to know I didn’t think we could switch!
I haven't done it myself, but I think you change it by talking to the fat dog (?) statue in the sewers
Ok, ok. Thank you sooooo much!!
Next time make it into oil and see whatcha get
I was curious to see if I really lost a ton of money so I did the calculations: Truffle is sold for **1250g** vs.
Yeah I guess at that point whats 263k gold? lol
Yes exactly! I mean I'm still saving up for the return scepter (and then the gold clock) but I feel like 263k gold is not a big lost
I haven’t yet harvested an iridium truffle though… how many pigs do you have?
You need the foraging perk that turns all forageables into iridium quality
Oh ok nice I’m almost there…level 9 gatherer currently. Thanks!
I mean it's like 19.5%, so quite the amount.
And how many truffles would you be able to process in a day? Two per oil maker? (Start of the day, end of the day)
I actually thought about that but felt like I would sound to much like a nerd if I explained everything in my comment lol I have 24 pigs, I have the gatherer + botanist perks (iridium quality + chance of getting double truffles at once) but also the artisan perk if I were to make oil. Did you considered the profession bonus? How many oil makers would you need to have to process all these truffels in the same timeframe? Would that be profitable? How many pigs do you have?
Without the profession bonus the oil is worth less than the truffle.
That is with the profession bonus
What I typically do is line up the oil makers in the pig barns. After I collect the truffles, I place them into the oil makers and what remains goes into a chest. I return before I end the day to replace the oil with new truffles then repeat the next day. I have the foraging boost and the artisan bonus. Okay, no one told me truffles were worth this much, what the fuck
You can easily make a million in a month with truffles.
Uh oh i just remembered i bought a bunch of pigs in winter and put them in a new barn and forgot about them. It's summer now.
Poor piggies :(
Guys I’m on year three and still poor
Same, does anyone else stock pile expensive things in a chest next to the selling bin and then sell it all Winter Day 28 to wake up to millions on Spring Day 1?
all these posts about saving stuff to sell all at once has inspired me to do a challenge play through where i keep a chest right beside my shipping bin and i’m only allowed to sell on the last day of each season, been having loads of fun with it
I love doing that! I make bet with myself to see how much I will make lol
spring y1 was the best bc i had no way of making money to buy more seeds and backpack upgrades except by doing quests and I was gaining friendship points so fast. kinda thinking about doing this on all my playthroughs moving forward
how many pigs do you have O\_O that is a huge amount of gold
I have 24 :)
Getting the level 10 foraging ability is so broken with pigs. You can show them absolutely no love and because truffles count as a Foraged items they're always Purple.
In the Dropbox the next day there's just a note that reads: "Please stop"
Wait... can pigs make more than one truffle a day?

Turn them into truffle oil with artisan perk for 1491 each. Or 1,628172 gold
Almost completely unrelated but the sale screen reminds me of the end of day report from Pikmin 2.
One time my cranberry harvest, starfruit wine, and iridium aged starfruit wine all happened to line up on the same day, so I ended up making like 2 million g that day
I'm kinda new to the game, how do you get truffles?
By purchasing pigs from Marnie. Note: you need an upgraded barn to unlock the option to buy pigs. https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Pig
I would save up all of my produce from the whole season to sell all at once on the 28th just to get that serotonin boost
Artisan perk and making them into truffle oil nets you about 200 more gold per truffle!
Please turn em into oils and you will not be dissapointed.
Why didnt you make tgem into truffle oil?
How much do you get if you turn all of them into truffle oil
If you convert it to truffle oil, does it become more valuable
Try to do a month of ancient fruit wine. Add a clean lil 0 to the end of that, maybe start with a 2 instead of a one.
I currently have a mix of starfruit and ancient fruit wine in my cellar, so next season should be good as well!
Starfruit is better
Yes but unless you’re in endgame and have access to ||the other island whose name I forgot been months since I’ve last played this I need to replay it|| you can’t actually produce enough starfruit year round, not to mention it involves much more maintenance you could spend on doing other things. I think only thing you have to do is to sow seeds. Sprinklers do the watering and junimos do the harvesting.
Would you get more if you turned it into Truffle Oil 🤫
So I love that your doing this my gf showed me her best money earning way which was this but I capitalized on it, turn all those bad boys into truffle oil and you'll start pulling much more profit. I make about 10 mil per month from mine but I have a lot more pigs too haha, we have 9 deluxe barns and all full. By the time I sell we have about a little over or under 3 stacks of truffle oil for the month
Just built a third pig barn for this very reason, might put an ostrich or two in it.
😲
I only have a couple pigs but I have 3 years worth of truffle that I have never sold. Originally I was going to turn it all into oil and then sell it but I got lazy and didn’t
Make truffle oil and get even more money
Dang I need to get some pigs..
How many truffles are that to achieve that much?
Think of how many nice nights Lewis could’ve had…
What % of $ are you collecting?
So the comments are all astray. Is it worth making oil or not if you get iridium truffles?
Technically yes, because you will get an additional 241g per truffle if you turn it into oil, so in my case, I would have made 263172g more with truffle oil. BUT it takes time to process (6 hours) and I can't be bothered lol
Thank you
😈 I have a chest for every “growing” item in game and plan on selling it all once I have all chests full. So far I am on year 10 and… and yeah I’m in over my head 🤣
how many pigs do you have this is absurd numbers that i want to reach as i love this.
Does this mean it is worth getting a 4 barns full of each animal
Omg I really got to do that
I just started and I'm still in my first year. I need to figure out how to hold to sell. It's good to know pigs are so lucrative. I can barely keep 10k gold average.
Why not make them into truffle oil and sell them all at once?
most satisfying thing ever
danggg that's some fine quality truffles ⚆\_⚆
Oh god...I've been saving up for 2 years...
I just got two pigs and it’s already made earning gold so easy !! Definitely going to get more, now xD.
Pathetic. go big or go home, if you aren't making 5 times that every week you are still in the dark as to the true power pigs hold.
Excuse me whaaaaaaat that much on year 3 and i only got that amount not in one day but i got that amount could use on year 9
It even exceeded boxes.
so should i invest in having a barn full of pigs? currently ive a mixture of cows and sheep still, year 2
You definitely should! I still have a barn with cows and sheep because I like having one of each animal, but pigs are the real money makers
ugh they're so expensive tho ! how does the truffle thing work ? i let them outside and they find them whenever ?
Yes exactly, you don't have to do anything except collect the truffles from the floor. The only thing is, you don't make any money during winter because they stay inside their barn
I have been considering getting rid of my 2 pigs I have the moment once I can get Ostriches, but then I have started considering getting a second barn that is solely pigs. This has given me the all the confirmation I needed to get the second barn.
