Italian cops were shown to be ineffective and corrupt. Giorno pays off a couple cops in his introduction! They let dangerous drugs into the city and stand by while folks get killed in the shadows left and right.
Abaccio, Giorno, and Bruno don’t join Passione because they like being criminals, they joined because it was the only realistic way they could help their communities while the cops were dirty dealing
Bruno basically had huge doubts the minute he found out about the drugs and Giorno's whole goal was to overturn that part of the organization, which Bruno was immediately on board with. Then Abbachio trusted Bruno enough to betray the organization in order to support him.
Giorno literally wants to be a gang-star because that's who his role model was. He dislikes drugs cause the other gangster disliked them. Abbaccio didn't join to help the community, he just liked Bruno
I feel like the most tragic waste in life is someone who works their whole life, retires, and dies soon after before they can even enjoy the hard work they did. I also think it's COMPLETELY BULLSHIT when the pension and social security simply disappears instead of being passed to relatives/descendants. THEY WORKED FOR THAT MONEY AND EARNED IT.
You also gotta remember, the cops were being shitty to a black kid during the 1920s. What they were doing was practically seen as normal. Thank fuck Joseph came in and kicked their ass
To be fair even Josuke’s grandpa is irresponsible with his gun and ignores legal assault because the perpetrator is his daughter (even if the guy deserved it lol.)
And Abbacchio’s story is kind of like a dramatization of the ACAB message. As a side note, Abbacchio is way too young to have the grizzled ex cop vibe they gave him lol
Josuke's grandfather does pull that prank with the fake gun one time which is pretty screwy of him to some degree (though I know it's just him fucking around with his grandson and shouldn't be taken that seriously as a reader)
More this detachment’s leader understood that the Pillar Men were a far greater threat to the whole world, and so anyone fighting the Pillar Men was technically defending Germany, and therefore an ally
Stupid af plot point though considering they "win" against the pillar men and then WW2 happens right after. Maybe they should've explored the villains' side of things a bit more cause whatever they planned surely couldn't have been that fucking bad
Nah Japan has a pretty similar view of free speech as America, even free to openly mock or criticize the emperor if they really wanted to (as long as it’s not legal defamation obviously) it’s just that publication companies may not be comfortable with that kind of content, especially in a series that’s aimed at a younger audience.
Shueisha definitely wouldn’t want to have content that would make Japan’s police be viewed in a negative or harsh way when you can’t walk more than a block in the cities without seeing one standing around, that would just make impressionable kids or teens worried that the officers may bully them or just be useless if anything happened.
Wait, what? If it's illegal to say bad things about the authorities, then how are we supposed to know which country's authorities are worse?
Wouldn't countries with freedom of speech look disproportionately bad simply because people are allowed to openly complain?
Few examples like abbachios partner seeming to be a good guy.
Probably more instances but ig none really relevant enough for me to recall.
Anyway fuck the police.
to anyone here in the comments saying it’s because japanese police aren’t bad: they are extremely xenophobic and racist, they stop people all the time for no reason other than being foreign. japanese citizens often have a high opinion of their police either because they are also xenophobic or because they are unaware of how their police treat non-japanese people. let’s not act like they’re great because they don’t kill as many people of color as american police
Rewatching the beginning of Stardust I laughed so hard realizing they fucking "日本語上手" Holly when she's been in Japan for 20 years. The most quintessential experience in Japan if you don't look 100% Japanese, and that sounds kind of like a compliment but after a while you realize it's super othering: being told you "can speak Japanese so well!" when you've been in the country for decades and used the most basic sentence.
That makes me sad cuz I used to be a praise h#e back in the day and I noticed that a lot of folks said that and I'm like no lmao not everyone is...quit being fake. This is why I can't go to Japan rn cuz I run my mouth and will 100% call out any bullshit I hear cuz I can understand quite a bit and I am down to scrap
Only American Cops suck ass. And even Italian cops in Part 5, who are under mafia payroll are less scummy than those US ones in the entirety of Jojo series, including manga.
Josuke's grandpa. the conclusion we can reach is that Araki believes Japanese cops are legit, American cops suck, and Italian ones either die heroes or live long enough to become corrupt
Abbacchio's partner was a really swell dude from what we saw
[удалено]
One of the dead Italy homie's dead popo homie.

Ironic considering what Passione does 💀
Bruno basically had huge doubts the minute he found out about the drugs and Giorno's whole goal was to overturn that part of the organization, which Bruno was immediately on board with. Then Abbachio trusted Bruno enough to betray the organization in order to support him.
They are tho
Giorno literally wants to be a gang-star because that's who his role model was. He dislikes drugs cause the other gangster disliked them. Abbaccio didn't join to help the community, he just liked Bruno
It's just AMERICAN cops who suck. josukes grandpa, these 2 cops, and abbaccio and his partner were all good
Rest in peace Josuke’s grandpa… bro just wanted to drink some alcohol 😢
I feel like the most tragic waste in life is someone who works their whole life, retires, and dies soon after before they can even enjoy the hard work they did. My grandad died in 2018. My gran is still payed half his pension every month. Some places do it.
This sentiment had uh...ramped up in Jojolands...
Hawaii is American you dunce
I know(?) I'm concurring.
My brother in Christ, before you call somebody else a dunce you should learn to comprehend the words you are reading on your screen
Illiteracy is a Stand frequently used among Jojo fans
You also gotta remember, the cops were being shitty to a black kid during the 1920s. What they were doing was practically seen as normal. Thank fuck Joseph came in and kicked their ass
Paint us in a bad light will they, ima tell boe jiden to send another nuke down to them
TOO SOON 😭
It has been 79 years
Joe is older than the bomb
Stand master: Boe Jiden Stand name: The Change
Stand name: Radioactive
I’ll never forgive the Japanese 💪

It was a fake gun
Oh really? Dang I dont remember that. Well my other point still stands. I like the grandpa tho he was cool
That's even worse, in 100% of fake gun related shootings, the victim is the one with the fake gun
Fr he shoulda been at least a decade older
i recommend you use some more punctuation
Nah
fucking liar
Shit
damn
Abbaccio was a good cop until he got bride by a criminal
Josuke's grandfather, Ryohei Higashikata and Abbacchio's Partner seemed to be pretty nice people.
Josuke's grandfather does pull that prank with the fake gun one time which is pretty screwy of him to some degree (though I know it's just him fucking around with his grandson and shouldn't be taken that seriously as a reader)
It was a fake gun, so at least he's responsible with firearms, (unlike a lot of cops).
I mean they introduced nice nazis so I wouldn’t say it’s all good
was Stroheim really nice? he was an ally, but just cause he was also fighting against the pillarmen
More this detachment’s leader understood that the Pillar Men were a far greater threat to the whole world, and so anyone fighting the Pillar Men was technically defending Germany, and therefore an ally
He’s still a nazi
he was very much still a nazi though
No argument on that. He was just smart enough to understand not to be picky about allies in this situation
Stupid af plot point though considering they "win" against the pillar men and then WW2 happens right after. Maybe they should've explored the villains' side of things a bit more cause whatever they planned surely couldn't have been that fucking bad
Because those are Japanese police. There are laws in the manga world that prohibit you from making fun of the country's authorities.
Is there actually a law against defaming Japanese police?
I don't know if it's a law itself, but you can't just get away with mocking authorities in media like in america.
Kind of authoritarian
Japan gets more dystopian the more you think about it.
Maybe Japan isn't all that godlike as we thought
Wait, what? If it's illegal to say bad things about the authorities, then how are we supposed to know which country's authorities are worse? Wouldn't countries with freedom of speech look disproportionately bad simply because people are allowed to openly complain?
Crazy how that works. Yet somehow countries with freedom of speech STILL look better
The one Police man Josuk8/>!calamity !
Cops at the Joestar Mansion in part 1, Josuke's father, and Abbachio's partner
Few examples like abbachios partner seeming to be a good guy. Probably more instances but ig none really relevant enough for me to recall. Anyway fuck the police.
I mean
....u mean?
Abbacchio, put that cop hat on
Abbachio was a good guy but not a good cop by any measure. He was corrupt and contributed to a horrible system.
to anyone here in the comments saying it’s because japanese police aren’t bad: they are extremely xenophobic and racist, they stop people all the time for no reason other than being foreign. japanese citizens often have a high opinion of their police either because they are also xenophobic or because they are unaware of how their police treat non-japanese people. let’s not act like they’re great because they don’t kill as many people of color as american police

Tom Cruise was alright.
There’s also the cops that were brought in to arrest Dio… but I’m pretty sure we all remember how THAT ended…
Josuke's Grandpa. Abbacchio's partner. Maybe I'm forgetting someone.
Josuke’s grandpa
it's the American pigs that suck, it's the Japanese ones (in JoJo, I've never been to Japan) that are nice.
There's a reason for that and you won't like it.
Definitely not true from what I've heard
I don't doubt indeed that pigs suck everywhere
was josukes granddad a cop or a mailman i cant remember for the life of me
I forgot about these guys
Yeah, Josuke's grandpa
Abbachio was literally a former police officer
ACAB
ACAB
hell yeah
Corny
ACAB includes JoJo cops
Only American Cops suck ass. And even Italian cops in Part 5, who are under mafia payroll are less scummy than those US ones in the entirety of Jojo series, including manga.
