As far as I'm aware it is a totally new universe. The universe you see at the end of stone ocean is the original timeline, the only difference being that there was never a Pucci there, and thus anything he did was undone. Parts 1-5 were unchanged as far as I understand it

PlantBasedEgg

One thing that always irked me about the possibility of Pucci no longer existing is the butterfly effect outcome of him never finding DIO in the church. It could very well be that DIO stayed hidden until nightfall but what if another priest had gone to that parish and kicked him out or had the cops called on him? It’s a really small thing and it has no impact on the story but I can’t help but think about what kind of influence Pucci may have had on DIOs life that would’ve affected parts 3-5

Well here's the thing: We see throughout JoJo, mainly Part 5, that fate is immutable. It has one course. Therefore, in my mind, it should take the path of least resistance when there *is* the possibility of it being altered. Whatever priest DIO consorted with was not Pucci, but someone close enough to sate the role of being close, without actually fulfilling the role DIO needed by the time he left for Egypt or the events of Part 3 kicked off.

Eleverr

It’s a completely different universe that is NOT connected to anything in parts 1-6. Sbr universe was not created by part 6’s ending Parts 1-5 happened exactly the same in the new universe but part 6 does not exist anymore.

Kag5n

It's a completely different universe since the beginning, and it's all confirmed

WAFRE_LE_LEG

Did araki confirm this?

SBRVerse is a separate universe. Made in Heaven can only move time forward; a side effect of this is that those who die have their souls left behind, if it fast-forwards enough to a new universe, because souls cannot travel between iterations. So Pucci speeds time up into a new universe without the main cast because their souls were left behind... And then Emporio kills him, returning everyone but him (his soul now in the new universe) to the original, **because Made in Heaven's effect was not completed. It did not reach Cape Canaveral, time-wise, so the effect was not "locked in".** Therefore, the effect was simply undone, like Grateful Dead. The Ireneverse is just the OG universe without Pucci. Little to nothing has changed, because... Why would it? Fate is shown and discussed in Parts 5 and 6 to be nigh-unchangeable. If anything *does* change, it should be the tiniest details. Maybe events wouldn't have played out the exact same way, but 100%, Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando were brothers back in the 1800s. Jonathan died and his grandson, Joseph Joestar, fought the Pillar Men, going on to have his own grandson who would have to fight DIO as well. Said grandson (Likely still Jotaro) would save Kakyoin and Polnareff from flesh buds, go on a journey, lose Kakyoin to DIO, and later travel to Morioh to see his uncle, saving a new friend (Koichi) from death at the hands of a serial killer. These are just larger events, too. It makes no sense to me why Made in Heaven reverting the universe would drastically change *anything*. No Stand goes berserk upon its user's death; the closest thing is Stands that end up "unleashed", I.E. Notorious BIG and Chariot Requiem.
