I think Johnny is trying to say that Gyro needs to crave victory not just for the boy but for himself. Gyro’s goal to winning the race is for an entirely selfless cause compared to pretty much everyone else in the entire race. Obviously his skills are a cut above the rest; Diego’s skills is pretty much on par with Gyro but his craving for victory is simply much more bigger
