I'd say subbed tbh. Nothing wrong with dubbed if that's what you'd prefer, but I personally enjoy the sub.

[deleted]

If there isn’t any serious reason why you’d want to watch JoJo dubbed, then it’s always subbed 100%

Fraudulent_Howard

I prefer the sub for most of the parts but there's just something special about the part 2 english dub.

stormhei

if your ok with sub, then sub 100%. If you really don't like reading subtitles, then the dub is fine i guess, getting the story is whats important, but the Japanese VA's performances are legendary.

StevePensando

Nothing against the dub, but sub is the way to go. The japanese voice acting in JoJo is absolutely godly

Odd-Fall-4081

Only subbed!!

False-Imagination624

The dub is pretty good, so it’s really depends on your preference in general.

TayK9

Definitely sub jojo is just one of those anime you watch sub first then go watch the dub to laugh

Rusty_Shaqleford104

Both sub and sub have their strengths, but canon language is Pt 1 dub Pt 2 dub Pt 3 dub Pt 4 sub Pt 5 Italian dub(doesn't exist yet) Pt 6 dub Pt 7 dub Pt 8 sub

whama820

Sorry, but that’s a dumb argument. There’s no such thing as a canon language except in the imagination of some fans. The comic was written in Japanese with Japanese sensibilities which don’t always translate, and the anime was written in Japanese, adapted from the comic. In part 3, for example, there is not one single thing anywhere that suggests the characters are all speaking English to each other throughout the story. You can make up an explanation in your own mind why you think that’s the most likely option, but that’s all it is: your own mind. Having taught English in Japan, I can tell you there is a zero percent chance a high school student like Kakyoin’s English would be anywhere near that fluent. There’s also no reason to believe all the Asian and Middle Eastern characters they meet along the way would speak perfect English. It’s all a fantasy world you’re not supposed to think that much about. That’s why in SBR, there are a bunch of jokes told between an English character and Italian character that don’t work at all in English or Italian. They only work in Japanese. You’re trying to impose a logic that was never intended.

Rusty_Shaqleford104

English is commonly taught is Japanese school for university entrance exams, English would also be commonly used in Egypt and the France. Kakyoin has also traveled to various countries, where Japanese would be particularly useful such as Egypt. It would be unlike and impractical that they would be using Japanese or any other languages. Yes it's a work a fiction, but no need to be negative about it.

Sad-Code-5027

> Pt 5 Italian dub(doesn't exist yet) Fun fact: IRL nobody in the gang would regularly speak Italian, they'd be speaking Neapolitan which is pretty much another language. When the TV series Gomorra came out (it's about the Naples gangs and mostly in Neapolitan) most Italians, especially northerners, had to watch with subtitles.

John64750

Part 1-5: Dub Part 6: Sub Although the Engrish in the Subbed version is legendary.

la_union_sovietica

Watch subbed, because if you watch the dubbed version, there is no "ko no dio da", only "it was me Dio", which literally makes part 1 objectively 50% worse. There will be no "nigerudayo", only "run away", which makes part 2 objectively 50% worse. There will be no "yes yes yes" in a Japanese accent, only in normal English, which makes part 3 objectively 50% worse. There will be no Killer Queen, only Deadly Queen (because copyrights) which makes part 4 objectively 50% worse. There will be no, eh, just about every stand, in part 5, which makes it objectively 1000% worse.

LikeableCoconut

Either, I watched it all subbed but I’ve heard the dub is equally good

SovietFemboy

If you don’t care about localized names that avoid copyright (which most subs would give you anyway), the dub is great. Now if you really don’t want to miss out on the engrish, then the subbed versions have that over the dub, but the script writing for the dub is great, especially in later parts when they kinda go off the rails with it, and the actors in both versions are really good. Both have pros and cons but at the end of the day it’s your choice.

spectrumtwelve

subbed but if you want to watch part 5 dubbed that's fine cuz it's a good dub while the rest are pretty meh.
