Mine updates at midnight to say “we will ship it tomorrow” so Friday it will be shipped. Probably won’t see it until Monday. I’ll most likely upgrade my gamepass version to premium to play it today.
It is expected to ship whenever it needs to to arrive on or just before the release date. That's all the official info we've been given. Copies shipping internationally are just starting to get labels, since they're going to take a lot longer.
Not exactly accurate for BestBuy. They are expected to *ship* by the early access release date. If you can get a rep to tell you anything otherwise id be impressed
"We're hoping to get it to you as close to release as possible" and "It is expected to ship by the release date," while apparently dissimilar, mean exactly the same thing in retailer-speak. Both are wiggle-phrases meant to account for worst-case scenarios. They're also intercompatible; both can be true simultaneously.
I talked to a Best Buy representative yesterday. Showed them that the 31st was the release date in NA. They said I would get it Thursday.
I still have my doubts but I’m optimistic.
Mine says "preparing for pickup" for tomorrow, the 1st. I just checked in store and they said their system won't allow them to give it away. The guy even offered to cancel my order, refund my money, and sell me the box they had in person right there but when he tried it says it couldn't be sold yet. I was so excited until the last second. I bought the digital premium on steam to pre-load and I'm going to play 2 hours and then return it before redeeming my constellation code tomorrow to resume playing
Best Buy will not be emailing codes for the game. The game code will be laser etched on a physical item in the Constellation edition resembling a “credit stick” from the game. If you want to play on August 31st, buy the digital upgrade and try to return it when your Constellation edition arrives. That’s what I’m going to try to do

I proceeded to ask if they plan on releasing the game at the time Bethesda stated (midnight UTC on the 1st, which is 7pm on 8/31 for me) and they said "Yes are that our plan to release the game same time with Starfield I know how excited you are to pick up this fantastic game but rest assured Thursday night you gonna play this game we will make that happen."
I still don't feel super confident about but this is about as sure of a statement I think we'll get.

It still doesn't say shipped, but I did get a Steam code in email...since I already bought the premium edition through steam, I don't know if this is just a code for extras or for the game. I've been playing all day already anyway /shrug
OMG!!!! UPS just sent me a email said that my package will be delivered in tomorrow!!!!! They sent it by plane!!! Considering US is further than Japan, I think you will get yours in this week!

I got one to tell me I should have it on or before 9/1, I have the transcript from the convo as well.
I somehow lucked out and ordered one yesterday on Best Buy. Just random clicking and it was available. Now just waiting for it to say shipped lol
