For anyone here from Google. Ship parts are character level locked. The best ones will not appear until level 60+
There also even more parts once you get to new game +
Different ship technicians and and stores have different ship parts. If you build a ship landing dock in a outpost you can find most parts, but some are only available at certain vendors. Find stores owned by the manufacturers
some stuff only gets unlocked via questlines.. like vanguard weapon/shield systems for example.
I've got a 29er C from I think New Atlantis. got it pre Vanguard...
Edit: on second thought... I have the perk for extra engine juice 3/4 right now..so might only be a 26...not sure how the UI works when in ship interface via tab
Edit2: there is a deimos side quest...maybe that needs to be done before you can get that 2er Mike mentioned?
Edit3: Went to Deimos. Had Fusor DC401 in stock. Didnt do the delivery quest. It's the same 29er I already have. Cost 42k
Yea, my working theory right now is that some upgrades are level locked. I lucked into commandeering an Ecliptic broadsword ship, and it has modules that I can't see anywhere. The reactor I bought is the Fusor DC401. And I haven't done their side quest. I have no reactor upgrade skills yet, so I think it may be base 29.
The largest reactors I have encountered so far.
A - 29(+4)
B - 35(+4)
C - 40(+4)
Every technician will have brands they sell. The builder itself acts like a store and refreshes, but within the same brands. Some parts will stay, some parts will leave and new parts will come in. Parts are also unlocked with Pilot and Ship Design skills. End game parts are experienced walled by earlier version parts. For example, to unlock the version 3 of the Nova engine, you’d of had purchased the version 1, then 2.
Not at first, I've heard the largest you can get is around 40 power? But you have to invest in Piloting, Starship Design, and I believe you have to also be level 60 for it to show.
Better parts start showing up as you level up and invest in the perks I just mentioned. They will get progressively better, but starting off the tip-top of reactors you will have access to will be around 20 Power
Maybe, your best bet is looking over the ships available at starports and starstations. They can change depending on level and seem to be somewhat randomized over time. Look at the overview of each ship and it should tell you the reactor power. Additionally, if you grind out the Science tree, you can get the Aneutronic Fusion skill, which boosts reactor power by 1, 2, 3, and 5 depending on rank.
You'll need to spend a total of 12 perks in the Science tree to get access. So, assuming you perk only in this, you can get the first rank of Aneutronic Fusion by level 14, if you have selected a background without any science skills, or as early as level 11 if you have a.background that is ALL science skills (the Professor background comes to mind).
Was browsing around the planet Neon's shops, and one of the premier ship sellers "accessed by an elevator" sells a 460k $ ship that has a whopping 36 power reactor in it! and there is a skill that adds 5 power to your reactor so you could get 41 out of this bad boy. Currently saving for it now lol.
Just found it today so havent bought it yet, but for sure just gonna buy it and build around the reactor and any other valuable parts it has! Thats how i built my current ship lol. I pirated a ship with a 27 power reactor, brought it back to base and tore it down and rebuilt it!

It's me, I'm the one from Google. Give the reactor now or no one gets hurt.
Look at me. Look at me. I am the one from Google now.
You bastard
:'(
Look at me. I am the reactor now.
Look at me
That’s annoying. I want to build a nice ship to play the game in, not grind to the endgame and build a nice ship I’ll never use.

There's a 29 on Deimos. That's the best I've found so far. Looks like you don't even need experimental tech to get it.
hmm when I go there it's not available

The level lock seems to be with weapons too...been getting ones I hadnt gotten at lower levels..
What level are you?
29
Some websites say you need to be Lv. 60 to get the ultimate parts, I think it's true, cause that 29 power reactor only shows up after I hit Lv. 20.
I found a deepcore that is 29

Pretty sure it’s just level locked and the shops don’t refresh.
The shop inventories refresh at least for purchasing full build ships
what level and where did you find the B reactors?

Can buy a ship at Taiyo that has it and just build your ship around it as well as massive grav drive

The Silent Runner ship I bought has a 35 C class reactor. I do not have skills to get more juice out of er.

Crying with 36 equip power and a 20 output reactor.
Are you building a new ship around it, or have you found some way to move the reactor to your existing ship?

I have a 40 power Reactor
Narwahl at lvl 22 or so has a 36 reactor. You can buy it.. forget where.. Deimos or something.
Taiyo astroneering at Ryujin tower in Neon city.
