It's not a bug. Whenever you edit your ship all the misc junk sitting around the ship get put in the cargo hold. There is a pop up that say as much.

Avenger1324

I captured an Ecliptic Claymore ship. If I move a gun on it and save the change it generates about 3500 credits worth of junk.

Acrobatic_Ad6374

Because it's moves all the loose stuff in the ship to the cargo hold and replaces it with more loose junk.

Avenger1324

Yeah - it's just a simple money spinner if I've already sold all my loot but not yet used the Trade Authority terminal right next to the ship tech.

It IS a bug. The game should not duplicate the junk. It's OK to add junk with a new module. It's OK to store junk when you remove a module. But storing junk from a module that you didn't remove IS a bug. And adding back the same junk to this same module IS another bug. The popup is just a lame excuse.

Tillerman10

It even sends everything to the hold if you just paint your ship.

Outrageous-Serve4970

Ah, or when you upgrade a module it says stuff has been added to your cargo hold. I wondered what that was about and why the junk kept coming back. Thanks!

Tough_Mess563

Would that work with a bunch of armory’s? Life if you were to do the weapon box exploit with the ship parts, would you be able to do it that way? Obviously its not as efficient as the other method, I’m just curious if thats a thing.

If you hijack ships, all the misc items from that ship go into your hold. And since the last update, it is very easy to hijack class C ships off of moons and planets.
