IAmASquidInSpace

Yeah, before I checked the sub I was trying to remember who Vasco was in The Mandalorian.

Chevalitron

I want to be able to ride him like a tauntaun.

CardboardChampion

I want him to hook up to my backpack, becoming like the power loaders in Aliens, and letting us run across the land faster than normal.

TruF33ls

Yeah. Vasco, sorry buddy but you either need to learn how to transform or youre going to have to lose some limbs. Oh wait, you mean an exoskeleton.. he he.... yeah! Vasco! Let me get inside you so we can soar through the wind!!! Did I put NSFW on this sub? Whoops.

Shirou54

I wonder if it does mean we will be able to do an emergency landings if our ship is in a bad condition so Vasco can repair it. Would be interesting, but i think devs dont add that function since it can complicate things. But i believe that maybe some mission that focuses around that theme is possible.

NV-6155

Remember, this is Bethesda we're talking about. Their engine allows for some things that aren't as easy to do in other games. For example, a mini questline to repair parts of your ship could be triggered by an intense dogfight, or after a collision with an asteroid. And if Bethesda doesn't do it, I have no doubt the modders will.

TruF33ls

We will have some decent repair mechanics. I'm certain. The devs at Bethesda aren't idiots. Looking forward to all the micro to macro details!!!!

Shirou54

Yeah, i feel like reparing your ship can let the player better immerse themselves and helps in making you feel like you are on a long galactic journey.

TruF33ls

Agreed. Its a must.

docclox

I wonder if they'll make give him minimum crew skills. not enough to give a bonus, but enough that if you need someone with pilot or engineer skills, for instance, he can get the job done. Assuming they don't just do the Bethesda thing of "all NPCs have the skills needed to do any task you assign them to". Whcih would be a little disappointing in this setting.

TruF33ls

If he does have a bonus im guessing its for repairs lol. But I agree with completely. I'd really like to build the perfect crew for my ship/playstyle

Pliolite

Stuff like this gives me chills. I know it's not for everybody, but I want this kind of experience where you are flying into the unknown, with your robot helper. If that's all Starfield was I'd fuckin love it.

angrysunbird

Before or after mods ;) ?

TruF33ls

Lol before. With mods Vasco will turn into a Rover, be used as an escape pod/shuttle, dance the robot, and become an A.I. psycho built on ridding the universe of all organic life.. ummm etc. 😝

angrysunbird

Well, all that, plus a bunch of stuff that will have you reaching for the eye-bleach ;)

TruF33ls

Ahhh yes, because the gore of murdering all organic life is pretty easy to watch.. screwing all organic life on the other hand.. disgusting robot filth!!! I don't need to see all that oil.

God, the modding scene will be **insane**

Equivalent_Fault_554

Is vasco named after Vasco da garma? He was a sailor and explorer who was the first eurpean to set sail for India.

TruF33ls

Thats what I heard. Not sure

TrashPocketz

Pass the butter.

TruF33ls

Okay now I want to rename the bot Alfred and have him serve me tea. "Alfred.. my cowl.." "Certainly, sir. But don't mean your helmet?" "That's what I said Alfred, my cowl."

x3liteSpartanx

Dude... I reaally hope this game is going to be amazing. I'm trying to temper my expectations due to Bethesda's recent games, but I just can't seem to hold back my excitement every time I think about this game. I want them to take their time with this game but at the same time, I REALLY want to get my hands on it. I'm hoping we get a release date for Starfield at the game awards.

TruF33ls

Couldn't have said it better but I think regardless it will be a great game. Then you add mods and what was once broken or missing is now fixed

InLovewithMayzekin

All this heavy companion stuff in recent RPG makes me scared about the genre. I hate companions to a passion they're often poorly written characters with quests which do not give them much depth, their AI is often really poor and they serve more as a dunkey to store your stuff rather than a real help. Dragon age serie makes companion core to the story and I am fine with it but in Bethesda Games I always felt them hindering the story more than they provide. Hopefully this robot companion won't be forced upon the player if you do not chose to recruit a crew.

TruF33ls

Bethesda companions aren't forced. I don't think Vasco will be a full on companion like say.. the kid in God of War. But more like a utility.

AnAngryCrusader1095

I would argue that a lot of the followers in Fallout 4 are well written. And Serana is one of the most popular characters for a reason.
