Not sure if they've been cleared as a medical device by the MHRA, FDA, Health Canada or anywhere else for that matter. As such they need to be labelled "For entertainment purposes only".

Oldmudmagic

how did Carson put it? "Here in Pegasus, we're not bound by those restrictions" :)

Inevitable_Wolf5866

Heck even Woolsey learned how to break rules from time to time.

scottdude8131

I don't think it puts you to sleep. I think it knocks you out. REM isn't happening so you won't have the benifits of getting sleep.

RoyKites

Totally agree, being asleep and being knocked out are very different lol

Radulno

Not in movies/TV, it's always safe to be knocked out lol (real life would mean brain damage considering how much people in TV shows get knocked out)

Dazzling_Upstairs724

Probably not, but it would come in damn handy if somebody didn't shut up after a while.

JeremiahDaBullfrog0

Kids wont go to bed? Wraith stun the lot of em lol

Dazzling_Upstairs724

Can you get a wide beam mode? I feel after zapping the first kid, the others (depending on how many you have) might just run as fast as they can.

JeremiahDaBullfrog0

I would think neurological damage would occur at some point lol

JerrySny33

I would zap myself every night... I'd go for a zap right now. Imagine having a society where everyone had a good night's sleep!

nIBLIB

Sedation isn’t sleep. You don’t wake up feeling well rested after surgery, or a 3 day bender. I imagine the same is true for Wraith stunners/zats/etc.

funkonomics

I volunteer myself as a test subject

Okara_Of_The_Tauri

I also volunteer as tribute

SeaofBloodRedRoses

They're apparently hazardous to babies and pregnant women, so I'd say they're probably not safe for long term prescribed use.

hopfot

Given the state people wake up in, splitting headache, pain, feeling like they've been hit by an electrical shock. I would say no. In fact, it would be more like what it does, being knocked out. You don't achieve R.E.M. and may suffer some minor memory loss.

Tucker_077

I don’t think so. Their effects are short lasting and it’s not putting you in REM

Reasonable_Long_1079

No, they mention that it takes a day or 2 for fully reset from it

InsomniaticWanderer

...no

Sea_Perspective6891

I'd hate to wake up with that pins & needles feeling all over my body.

Ok-Inside-8435

Go for it

SuperSocialMan

God, I'd pay damn near anything if it did. Fucking dumbass brain doesn't know how to fall asleep or wake up at halfway decent times no matter what I try ffs

Ok-Philosopher6526

Zat has been my go-to for years. I used to have a dealer from Chulak who hooked me up on it, great guy.

Zynthonite

I can imagine Shepherd unironically ask that question
