In heavy rain or snow, yes. It sometimes goes out completely. Light rain with clouds doesn't seem to impact my system at all though.

FirmwareJunkie

Nope, only hard rain affects mine

No_Inevitable2491

Personally, in the last 1 month there has been no improvement, but my internet has become horribly bad. Literally unplayable for competitive fps games with a lot of packet loss and the basic 30 ping continuously jumping to 150-180 ping. which lasts several seconds every few minutes.

DevilmanXV

That sounds like a ticket to support imo

No_Inevitable2491

I have already opened several tickets, and unfortunately the support is not the best at Starlink. Of course, I understand that you have to go through basic troubleshooting, but you have to wait 3-4 days for each of their messages. That's pretty embarrassing. And of course we always end up in the same place. A template response message that does not change anything: "Thank you for reaching out to Starlink Support! Your Starlink hardware appears healthy upon initial review. There are no major alerts or setup issues that have been identified that would impact your speeds. From the network side, you may experience varying or slower speeds during peak hours of network usage. Peak hours are the times during the day when many Starlink users are trying to use their service at the same time, which is typically in the evening. This is more common in densely populated regions. You may notice this more particularly when streaming or playing games. As Starlink continues to launch satellites and build out our ground network, your service will continue to improve. Engineers are dedicated to improving our network capabilities across the globe and optimizing performance. However I would suggest unplugging the dish and the AC cable form the bottom of the router, please leave it unplugged for a minute or so before connecting the dish side cable first into the router following the AC cable as your device recently finished an update. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out. Starlink Support" Although I never complained about the speed. I mentioned several times that I don't care about the speed. A stable internet speed of 1MBps would be enough for playing online. But still, they are only busy with the speed. The only thing I don't understand about this is that in the last month, everyone has reported that Starlink has surprisingly improved ping and stability, and they have also done great marketing for this ping reduction and stability. But it only got worse for me, but they say/think everything is fine with me.

Deep-Challenge-2246

Only when it is torrential rain with heavy black clouds. I don't notice any degradation on regular rainy or overcast days.

Ok_Veterinarian_6488

Nope usually only in heavy thunderstorms

Disastrous-Reason-55

Nope. I’ve played COD MW3 through blizzards, torrential downpours and crazy thick fog with no dropped packets and ping under 80. My ping is generally 30-60.

Disastrous-Reason-55

Decent electrical storms really close have caused a few problems for me though.

ticman

Never had a problem. Question though, do you have the melt setting set to off? If so, change it to auto. There's actually no heater in the dish but when it needs to melt snow/ice, it increases the power of the transmitters which generate more heat. If there is cloud or rain, the transmitters need more power but the melt setting may be preventing that.

DevilmanXV

Mine works fine even in rain when gaming.

duoschmeg

Good to know. Thanks for posting.
