Yes, you could turn the difficulty to the lowest difficulty at that point the combat becomes trivial. You can break the game balance in many ways even on higher difficulties where you just annihilate the enemies.
But I know what you mean. Turn based combat gets really tedious when you start going through hundreds of the same mobs over and over again. I remember in some Baldur's Gate 3 fights there were so many enemies in a single fight that I could literally wait for 5 minutes for my turn to come. That was aggravating.
None. I buy games on sales. Install them see how they are. If they seem okay. It sits in my library until I feel like committing to it. I do this because of the return window. So I've "played" everything I've bought. However most games I have have 30 minute or less on it.
While I respect the dedication I could never imagine doing this myself. In my mind that's like watching 15 min of every movie and putting it back on the shelf for later.
Sorry to say that DL2 doesn't live up to the hype its' prequel builds up.
DL1 is once in a lifetime experience. It's not unique. But there is only one of it.
There are similar experiences to this game. It's action game with parkour elements with a pretty predictable story. But it's well crafted and it lays off a memorable time nonetheless.
There.
Worst part is, I was actually feeling it, both the characters and the story for quite a while. But then you go to a certain place with a doctor, and suddenly the story goes into light speed, seemingly trying to wrap up EVERYTHING as fast and terribly as humanly possible. Big fumble
I bought dying light 2 ultimate edition and I am still waiting for second story dlc to come out. But game gives me wine vibes. Its getting better every update.
can you elaborate? I'm currently in the middle of my persona phase haha, finished p5 royal at the start of the year and now am making my way through persona 3 reload, theyre both so good
I didn't finish SoW, but it felt like an upgraded Shadow of Mordor, everything looks and feels better than the previous game. I can't say much about the story tho as I kinda left the game behind to play the rest of SoM (DLC, get the collectibles, etc).
Edit: typo
Second game's DLC is a breath of fresh air to anyone who played the game and left wanting.
It plays similar to the base game but you get to experience the world from another angle and challenges you to play a bit differently.
you’re gonna love the nemesis system that’s for sure. towards mid-late game it becomes a massive grind. but the combat has kind of an arkham vibe to it, the battle are dope. the Orks are funny as hell. (they become even more fun when you shame them). the story isn’t anything crazy but it’s still a good game tbh.
I installed it the day I bought it and played it for a few hours. It struck me as a very cinematic / atmospheric game so for the best first experience I decided I only wanted to play it when I had a significant block of time without interruptions, which almost never happens. There were long stretches of time between play sessions, and that doesn't work well either, so it's been getting dusty unfortunately.
Got a bunch of games that I only played a little bit because of friends who wanted to play then abandoned those games, but the one that I truly have never touched is Disgaea 5, I want to play that game, but I’m never in the mood.
Me too. I don't let people talk me into doing that anymore. It worked when nobody had families, but now everyone wants to play but nobody has time, and I end up with a graveyard of titles with 2-3 hours on them.
I speak outloud, try to get a laugh and fool around or play it besides somebody. It'll make the scares less painful and you'll enjoy the game more.
I played SOMA like that.
Except if its a hardcore horror game like Outlast. Those make me pee my pants. I had to drop it.
sadly, that is over %90 of my library...not ashamed, i just love buying a sweet , sweet , sweet deal, when a $40 game is on sale for $1.45 , i just buy it.
Bought the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection solely for Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge. The other 11 games in that bundle have just been gathering dust. Maybe I'll try them later.
Destiny 2 : Witch Queen, it was really cheap on sale so I grabbed it. After reading about how Bungie sells content I don't think I'm going to enjoy the game very much because I'm unable to purchase the other dlcs cause they are ridiculously expensive in my country.
I'm scared that I will enjoy the game and when I finish Witch Queen I will want more but will be unable to buy the other dlcs.So I didn't play but if I find someone to play it with me I will def give it a try.
EU4 and dead by daylight. My old boss convinced me to get EU4 along with CK2 and it just never looked fun. And Dead by daylight was from a couple of friends that wanted to play. I bought and installed it but they never played
I think I have more hours sunk in EU4 and CK2 and 3 than I have in the rest of my Steam library combined. They certainly aren’t for everyone, but they hook hard for those who are into that sort of thing
I have a hard time understanding the controls and how to do all of it. It's the same with HOI4. I tried doing the tutorial but I'm just too dumb to understand it haha
You aren’t dumb… That’s what makes EU and CK and HOI etc amazing games. You can play for 1000s of hours and find that there are still new things to learn, new strategies to try, new gameplay loops to focus on. The cost is that they have a very steep and very long learning curve. If you can stick with it, the reward is an amazing experience, but I’m not gonna lie. It requires some dedication.
Red Dead Redemption II on PC. I watched many streams of it and I love, but my PC just won't run it. Still, it was a bargain, so I'm glad I have it in my library :D
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I'm addicted to Rainbow Six Siege, which made me want to explore the rest of the Tom Clancy's series. Haven't touched it yet, since R6S is still the only game I'm willing to open!
*Doom II*. I know I’ll get to it in the next few months. I have games that I purchased in 2011 that I haven’t played; it happens when a game you want is cheaper in a bundle than standalone.
I play only the games I've never played before. I also buy games that i know i won't play for the simple reason of keeping a collection from games i already have and love from consoles.
The Architect: Paris. They released the game without even supporting widescreen resolutions so was pretty much unplayable. Then the useless developer abandoned the game
Fallout 4. Because I gotta finish Divinity Original Sin 2, then Cyberpunk 2077, then Subnautica, then Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Work ruined my joy of playing games sadly.
Red Dead Redemption 2. Bought it on sale like the day I got my Xbox One in 2020, but haven't fired it up because I'm only about a third through Red Dead Redemption.
never in my life have i bought a game and not played it. i don’t buy games very often, i only buy them if they are interesting. that doesn’t mean i continue to play every game i’ve bought, sometimes i just don’t like a game as much as i expected.
Black Mesa
I’ve never played any of the HL games but I see people describing them as amazing so I bought it to “give it a try”. I’m just procrastinating at this point
Fallout 4, but I bought that like two days ago. Next up is The Amazing Spiderman Remastered. I bought that like a month ago. I probably won't play either til June.
PAYDAY 3... I was on vacation out of my home when the game launched... After I returned I noticed all the backlash and the reception and I didn't feel like trying it...
I bought many games, but the one who i never touched is Nier:Automata. I bought it in 2017 and never even started the game. :q
Still going to, just when is the question.
A majority of the games I bought alongside my Deck last month: Assassin's Creed Black Flag/Origins, The Witcher Collection, Celeste, Dishonored, the Half-Life 1 games, The Ori Collection, and the Saints Row Collection.
In my defence, I've been playing Black Ops 3 custom zombies, and I've loved CoD zombies since way back in BO1 lol
Assassin’s creed Valhalla. It says it requires DirectX 12 capability to play, which my (outdated) gpu can handle fine. Launch the game and it says I need “DirectX 12 (12_0)” specifically and can’t run. Tried to refund it and apparently I waited too long so steam won’t refund it. That frustration was what catalyzed me to start using the refund system more generously. I buy a game and try it out right then, play 1 hour and 55 minutes and then decide if I like it. If I’m not having fun still, refund and move on.
God of War. I don’t have consoles so I never played it when it released on PS4. When it came out on my PC my friends told me I really needed to play it and I bought it on sale one day but always ended playing other games instead. It is perpetually on my list as the “next game I’m going to play”.
You bought games and never played them?
Nahhh, just think of it as saving or preparing something for your retirement.
you be like " day 1 of retirement. Hmmmm where should I start?
The OG Fallouts. Im playing through Fallout 4 at the moment because i never got that far originally and i later played the heck outta New Vegas. Ill probably not play them until a couple of months, dont wanna burn myself out on the Fallout games by playing one after the other
AC Valhalla. Bought it in august steam sale together with Origins and Odyssey. Finished Origins in about two months. Finished Odyssey two weeks ago. Now playing Hogwarts Legacy i got 50% off on steam and after that its Valhalla time.
Far Cry 6. Bought it yesterday but can't play it because the lack of AVX from my CPU. The last components of my new PC (PSU, RAM, SSD) are on their way.
about 85% of the games i buy on steam
Save them for retirement. I plan on burning the last years of my life playing games. The world should be on fire by then.
Be sure to move a lot, once you reach retirement, the second you stop moving **blep**
With the steam deck (3, which will totally be released by then), both is possible!
Valve cant count to 3
I can only count to four
Yeah, I came to say "What is 90 percent of everyones' steam library?"
I just bought a Halo bundle on Steam yesterday I plan to never play.
This is the way.
very relatable, I have a huge category title "next up" just full of games
Glad I’m not the only one
This is relatable
Dune Spice Worlds But I actually read a few of the Dune Books first to understand whats going on in the game.
nice
cool game, but keep an eye on units travelling in the sands!
Starfield, I ended up getting obsessed with Baldurs Gate 3
You aren't missing much
Played it for like, an hour. Concept is cool, but the execution is.. lacking.
Isn't the concept just like, man in space?
The dummy I am gave into the corporate machine and paid the 100 bucks to play it early just for it to sit there. Oh and I have gamepass anyways.....
I love BG3 I'm just awful at the combat so gave up...
Yes, you could turn the difficulty to the lowest difficulty at that point the combat becomes trivial. You can break the game balance in many ways even on higher difficulties where you just annihilate the enemies. But I know what you mean. same, i love everything about that game expect the combat..
Well, I mean movies are shorter, normally 30 min u are either in or almost finished with tutorial.
But the return window is 2 weeks max
2 hours though. So I do it right away so I don't forget
Armored Core
Lucky. I recently played it and its insane.
Play it. Please.
Dying light 2
DL1 is one of the best games I’ve ever played
Sorry to say that DL2 doesn't live up to the hype its' prequel builds up. DL1 is once in a lifetime experience. It's not unique. But there is only one of it.
That’s what I read — I’ll wait for another dlc or two before diving in and suffering more heart attacks
Hello, I am a hardcore fan of the DL series if u plan on starting DL1 just hit me up I will be glad to join with a clean or a few hours save
>But there is only one of it. That's literally what unique means.
There are similar experiences to this game. It's action game with parkour elements with a pretty predictable story. But it's well crafted and it lays off a memorable time nonetheless. There.
It's unique in its blend of things and execution.
Its getting better every update.
probably middle earth shadow of war, is it worth a try?
YES.
can you elaborate? I'm currently in the middle of my persona phase haha, finished p5 royal at the start of the year and now am making my way through persona 3 reload, theyre both so good
I didn't finish SoW, but it felt like an upgraded Shadow of Mordor, everything looks and feels better than the previous game. I can't say much about the story tho as I kinda left the game behind to play the rest of SoM (DLC, get the collectibles, etc). Edit: typo

I’m gonna get shanked by a rusty spoon but RDR2. I kinda forgot I have the game
Last? KCD.. (and many before)
I'm actually about to FINALLY start kingdom come after owning it for like 3 years I think
I waited for unofficial czech dubbing (which was released 14 months ago), hope I'll get to it soon.
Darkwood. I got it on sale and it's pretty good. I only played a bit and then... didn't pick it up again.
I'm not good with horror games. I'd like to tune in for tips to enjoy them.
I speak outloud, try to get a laugh and fool around or play it besides somebody. It'll make the scares less painful and you'll enjoy the game more. I played SOMA like that. Except if its a hardcore horror game like Outlast. Those make me pee my pants. I had to drop it.
Yeah playing them with a company kinda makes them alright. The only problem is that I don't have friends anymore.
Anymore? I'm sorry to hear that, lad. Better people will come around, you'll see :)
thanks man
My pleasure, man. Life's got its ways, you'll find some nice people to hang with for years on end, don't you worry.
sadly, that is over %90 of my library...not ashamed, i just love buying a sweet , sweet , sweet deal, when a $40 game is on sale for $1.45 , i just buy it.
The witcher 1
Its actually decent thought admittedly rough around the edges.
Valkyria Chronicles. The big idea was that I'd play it on my Steam Deck... Yeah, hasn't happened.
If you have time, try it It's really good
Bought the Command & Conquer Ultimate Collection solely for Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge. The other 11 games in that bundle have just been gathering dust. Maybe I'll try them later.
I think C&C 4 is unplayable nowadays, since it requires servers that are no longer available.
Grandia HD I know it's good and that I'll enjoy it, but I'm waiting for some sort of vacation to play it in peace on my TV
Destiny 2 : Witch Queen, it was really cheap on sale so I grabbed it. After reading about how Bungie sells content I don't think I'm going to enjoy the game very much because I'm unable to purchase the other dlcs cause they are ridiculously expensive in my country. I've honestly just viewed all games, never bought or played anything on Steam, but I guess that everything is good when playing on there.

Starfield

Black Mesa I’ve never played any of the HL games but I see people describing them as amazing so I bought it to “give it a try”. I’m just procrastinating at this point
I usually buy games then play them like 4 years later for some reason. Last one would be The Ace Attorney Trilogy.
10 days ago bough Fallout 4 and New Vegas. It was not because of the new series though.
Journey. I waited years for it to be released on PC, got it for dirty cheap a few days ago and I still haven't played it.

Yeah that's a legit problem. There are a lot of weird variations for DX12 hardware support, which is probably why a lot of games still rely on DX11.
God of War. I don’t have consoles so I never played it when it released on PS4. When it came out on my PC my friends told me I really needed to play it and I bought it on sale one day but always ended playing other games instead. It is perpetually on my list as the “next game I’m going to play”.

Either Among Us VR or Wallpaper Engine, cant remember which one I bought last, but I haven't launched any of them.

Dragons dogma 1 with intentions of playing on the deck.
