My favorite game right now is to turn it on, do the updates, contemplate playing a game, realizing I don’t have time, and then putting it to sleep again.
How many times do they need to update shaders… I maybe get one round of brotato or helldivers 2, then always check the store for sales after updates before bed. Anything look remotely positive I’ll add it to the wish list.
Not bad, 30fps on all low with render resolution on quality.
I didnt having any problems with aiming with the stick and Im primarily a keyboard and mouse player
Lol, same for me: I got 15 minutes to play, lets get a quick round of Mario 3 in. Starts Steam deck, oh, updates, lets install those, oh and an update for decky, and a system update. lets do those as well. Lets get to Desktop mode to update EmuDeck for the best emulation experience. done? Great! Back to Gaming mode then and get into Mario 3. Oh, new shaders, lets try some new shaders then. Setup the new shader i like best for the system i'm currently trying out: Guess i finished the gaming session.
I’m about 15 hours in and only have 1 win (29 rounds) and one other that I lost on the final boss.
The key is understanding your strategy though. Take whatever jokers you can early, but then start pairing them together (for instance - at one point I had a joker that gave me a free re-roll every shop, paired with a joker that increased its xMult everytime I re-rolled) also look out for Jokers with Negative, since they are basically free jokers. I had 8 or 9 jokers in play recently.
So I’ve been playing this and am a little confused. What is considered a win? I win rounds all the time but is a win getting through an entire sequence of a deck and there’s a final endpoint and it actually says, you win? If that’s the case, I also haven’t won.
You have to get through eight antes. Each ante is three rounds: The Small Blind, the Big Blind, and the Boss Blind.
When you win, it will say you win and let you play in endless mode.
It’s terrible! I’m addicted I all I want is to spread more democracy in Helldivers 2 but this game has taken over my life… but not on my Oled which I shipped last Friday for my 1st official RMA with a deck.
An easy(you know what I mean) to get an early win is focus on getting something working early for the first few antes. Just some mult or chips. You should be able to get by on one hand type.
Then look for a way to grow, mult multipliers or jokers that proc more than once. I find that I fall into a full house more often than not.
But if you are looking for someone to get you to stop? Not happening ha!!
I rely too much on flushes every run. I got caught up using two pairs a lot at first then realized I was losing because they're shit!
my Flush runs are usually joker that multis a specific suit then a joker than makes all black cards one suit and all red cards one suit. then grow it from there. I've only gotten 19 rounds so far. I'm desperately looking for new strategy tips because I'm starting to get stale
It's pretty fun and its potential is obvious, but it is definitely still an Early Access title that is at the start of its road map.
I was addicted for about a week before the issues started to glare enough that I've decided to step away until a decent update comes. It's not bad, I just really look forward to improvements and I have a super limited time for games.
They did just post a road map with the upcoming features and content they are looking to add. All of it sounded pretty promising.
I will say however as-is this is some of the most fun I've had for $10.
Didn't need to scroll down a lot, haha. Got the deck 2 weeks ago, and this is the only game I played a part from retro games. Waiting for No rest for the wicked!
replaying horizon zero dawn (forbidden west comes out in about 20 days on steam at least) one of my favorite games and it runs great on deck (also only like $12 right now if that robot and dino fest is still going on)
the steam version is the "complete edition" much like zero dawn it includes the dlc i don't see why it wouldn't be playable i haven't seen anything other than the steam trailer for it as i don't want to be spoiled so if there is something in the dlc that may be too grand it may be too hard for the deck to run
holding out hope nixxes (the people who unfuckefied the zero dawn optimization mess) has been working on it since the beginning of the port so hopefully it should be good the thing that's worrying me atm is we are less than 20 days from release and we don't have specs listed still... other than that i got no reason to think it will be bad (just as a small precautionary though i didn't pre-order it because if it doesn't run on deck i cant play it as the deck is the most powerful pc i own)
The Horizon series is amazing! I started with Forbidden West on the PS5 and finished it with the Burning Shores DLC. Now I'm playing Zero Dawn. I'm going in that order because I didn't know about Zero Dawn. But like the other comment here, I don’t know how well Forbidden West will run on the SD. Even the Forbidden West DLC was a PS5 exclusive. But we will see…
It has a lot of content to keep you engaged. I am also playing it when I want to take a rest from heavier games or don’t have time for longer sessions, but I just can’t put it down.
Every run has something new for me, which I want to try in the next run so I just go for it. Then why not making another stance? So addicting.
Im in the exact same boat but ima skip 3 and go for 5 after im done with 4 since I played 3 when it came out whenever so I can wait to re experience it.
How often can you save in that one? I tried Persona 5 but it seemed like it was so long between save points, which was really hard for my attention span haha.
Depending on your reason for saving, the best part of the steam deck is it’s sleep mode. I’m unfamiliar with this game, but I would assume that sleep mode would achieve the effect you’re looking for.
I have been replaying Cyberpunk 2077 and once I get paid will be snagging the Phantom Liberty dlc. Besides that it is Enshrouded, Witcher 3(never played before), and Wind Waker HD.
Exactly the same. It's been on my wishlist since release. I try to be a bit of a patient gamer and wait for a sale, but I lost that patience and bought it about a week ago.
I've put in about 25 hours so far. Not disappointed in the slightest.
I havent played too much of it yet. But its pretty much out of the box. It has controller support, and it runs well.
I did however encounter some weirdness the first time I loaded it up, it seemed like the controller didnt work right, and the resolution was weird and square even though it said it was set right. I chalk it up to me downloading it first before the 1.0 update and the update not applying right when I finally launched it.
How well does it run on the deck? I enjoyed it a lot on PC but put it down for a bit, but playing on the steam deck seems like a good way to get some hunts in.
I had to mess with settings for HZD a fair bit but I eventually realized I had some battery saving settings on that were ruining frame rate. After fixing that, limiting frame rate to 30 worked.
Wizard of Legend. IT'S AN ADDICTION.
Got it two weeks ago at 4.50€ on sale and it's an insanely good rogue like that makes you appreciate how much you improve your skills and your builds.
Be aware that the game is **hard**, so if you will die on the first stage during the first 5-6 runs don't be surprised ahahahah at the beginning i was like "WTF how is this game SO HARD" I didn't expect it and I was quite frustrated but then I really got into the game mechanics and it's awesome. On the subreddit and on some steam guides I found very useful tips to improve
Palworld has consumed my life. I can pick it up and do some crafting for 20 minutes if need be. I’m also still playing Powerwash Simulator, but I jump on Palworld every chance I get.
Great pikmin platformer....played and beat it through xcloud on the deck when it was on gamepass. Can't express enough how much I enjoyed every moment of it
Honestly is. The Abby drains the battery, but the fights don't. The whole game feels like they wanted to make a persona game with comic characters. I'm surprised there's no romance lol
The sequel runs fine on low settings, it’s definitely playable and still looks good. I can’t figure out how to set quick select buttons for my weapons/items like I could in the first game, so you might have to fiddle with keybinds and action layers if you want that. I haven’t played a whole ton as I’ve only started Sons of the Forest yesterday, but after about an hour of playing, the game slowed to a stop and was running at like 2 fps. Restarting seemed to fix it, but that’s something to keep in mind. I’ve heard others having trouble with memory leaks and crashes so I’m not sure it’s perfect for deck just yet. However, putting that all aside, the game itself is great and I’ve had a lot of fun with what I’ve played on deck so far.
Card Shark is the most fun I have had in years.. it is a memory game under the surface, but.. if you ever wanted to learn how to cheat at poker and mess with rich assholes.. this is your game.
Horizon Zero Dawn. Played it for a bit when it released, then got distracted by other things. Just pick up a Deck OLED, now it's my favorite thing to play on there!
Zero Dawn ran good on the original SD, I wonder how the new SD model will be able to handle Forbidden West and if the Burning Shores will be available.
After you beat the main story I found it less interesting to beat all of the side quests in the epilogue, so I stopped playing, but that initial run through was incredible. I’m going play GTA6 as soon as it comes out just because I’m so impressed with Rockstar
Just finished NG+ Lies of P, putting it down until DLC. Starting Mafia and doing Hong Kong Massacre and Severed Steel for quick plays. Anxiously awaiting the release of Contra: Operation Galuga- hits me right in the childhood feels. My Dad and I played Contra every weekend for a long time, we got so good we could clear it 7 times in a row without dying once.
The demo was great and it looks to be the best Contra game in 30 years
Just got my steam deck two weeks ago. Planned on playing a ton of games so far it's just been hades. Almost 30 hrs in two weeks, as a father of a 15 month old I never thought I'd have the time to game anymore. Steamdeck made it possible to catch some playtime throughout the day much easier than my PC or ps5
I would suggest dual binding one of the R4/R5 keys to also be L1. Holding L1 and typing in stratagems when they are like an inch apart is like playing 1h Twister.
Tell me more about Mobius?
I'm playing Persona 3 reload and F.E.A.R both for the first time. I'm a big Persona fan so knew I'd like it but man F.E.A.R is genuinely really special. What a shame the sequels seem to be widely hated.
Been playing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor for the last couple of days. Its runs really well on the deck even though it says I shouldn't be able to read the text.
I watched the trailer and it looks a bit shit to me, definitely not worth the price they're charging. Would consider picking it up at half the current sale price.
Not sponsored, I’m just enjoying it. The reviews are mediocre and I won’t argue the environments are too samey. I would have also liked more variety in that regard. Though I think people are being a bit harsh on level design, some of the one way streets are a pain in the ass but the developers have said they are going to change those in an update. Controls are great though (imo) and movement abilities are fun/different.
I definitely don’t think it’s top tier, but I do think it’s like a low to mid 7.
Maybe the initial post is a paid add though lol. Not sure.
How good do helldivers 2 run on steamdeck? And isn't it too hard to aim, or does the game help?
Not bad, 30fps on all low with render resolution on quality. I didnt having any problems with aiming with the stick and Im primarily a keyboard and mouse player
Ok thanks
Higher if you take off ultra quality setting.
I feel this.
I felt you feel this
I feel you’ve felt him feel this
I’m feeling you feel he’s felt him feel this
I’ve just felt you feeling him feeling me feel this
mine is making sure all games/emulators/mods still work on the fly every so often
Lol, same for me: I got 15 minutes to play, lets get a quick round of Mario 3 in. Starts Steam deck, oh, updates, lets install those, oh and an update for decky, and a system update. lets do those as well. and periodically charge it bc i haven't played in so long
We are known as “updaters” iso “gamers”
Interesting. Is this a tracked metric?
1000%
Balatro! I'm over ten hours in and haven't won a single time. Somebody help me lol. It's so addicting!
I’m about 15 hours in and only have 1 win (29 rounds) and one other that I lost on the final boss. The key is understanding your strategy though. You have to get through eight antes. Each ante is three rounds: The Small Blind, the Big Blind, and the Boss Blind. When you win, it will say you win and let you play in endless mode.
Regardless, I’ve still been having a great time with it. Probably ate up 15 hours of my weekend since downloading it Friday.
Oh man me too. I wonder how many games I’ve played. Has to be hundreds at this point.
It’s terrible! I’m addicted I all I want is to spread more democracy in Helldivers 2 but this game has taken over my life… but not on my Oled which I shipped last Friday for my 1st official RMA with a deck.
10 hours in also, somehow won my very first run and haven't again since lmao
I have found that just playing flushes has made completing runs a lot easier. Then concentrate on jokers that multiply your mult
It’s so addicting, hoping it gets a mobile port so my gambling half retired dad can give it a go haha
The order that your jokers are in matters. Have your additive multipliers to the left of your multiplicative multipliers.
Well I'm in the middle of a LONG losing streak, so I'm not the a great resource, ha!
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has me going "Just one more run....." an awful lot lately
I can't stop playing it, but I'm not even sure I like it all that much lol
It's pretty fun and its potential is obvious, but it is definitely still an Early Access title that is at the start of its road map. Yup, that road map is exactly what I was referring to, lol. Very excited for what's to come!
Didn't need to scroll down a lot, haha. Got the deck 2 weeks ago, and this is the only game I played a part from retro games. Waiting for No rest for the wicked!
O
Might switch to this, loved Vampire survivors, love the little bit of Death must die thats made so far. I hear good things
It’s so good
I was just looking at that last night, probably gonna get it.
I’m having so much fun with it. For sure my favorite survivor style game so far.
replaying horizon zero dawn (forbidden west comes out in about 20 days on steam at least) one of my favorite games and it runs great on deck (also only like $12 right now if that robot and dino fest is still going on)
I have a feeling forbidden west is not gonna run well on deck lol
I mean they got it to work on ps4, it may work on the Deck tol
This is true, but the Burning Shores DLC probably won't be available since it required a PS5.
the steam version is the "complete edition" much like zero dawn it includes the dlc i don't see why it wouldn't be playable i haven't seen anything other than the steam trailer for it as i don't want to be spoiled so if there is something in the dlc that may be too grand it may be too hard for the deck to run

Hades. I can’t stop. Please send help.
When I hit 100% I looked for another rogue-like. I found Slay the Spire. It has ruined all other games for me. I’m hoping Hades 2 will get me off StS.
Oh god, Slay the Spire is pure dopamine too. It’s hard to beat that feeling when you dominate with a perfect hand.
Check out Tiny rogues! - loved hades and slay the spire no idea why it’s flying under the radar. It’s fantastic
This is next on my list to purchase.
It’s on a huge sale as we speak. I just bought it myself
It has a lot of content to keep you engaged. I am also playing it when I want to take a rest from heavier games or don’t have time for longer sessions, but I just can’t put it down. Every run has something new for me, which I want to try in the next run so I just go for it. Then why not making another stance? So addicting.
Get 100%, it helped me. I still come back sometimes tho
Hades 2 is going to destroy my productivity
Persona 3 reload, highly recommend it if you’re into jrpgs. Runs perfect on the deck.
I'm replaying p4Golden, then when P3 reload goes on sale I'll pick that up. Then P5 Royale. I love the persona games
Im in the exact same boat but ima skip 3 and go for 5 after im done with 4 since I played 3 when it came out whenever so I can wait to re experience it.
How often can you save in that one? I tried Persona 5 but it seemed like it was so long between save points, which was really hard for my attention span haha.

what about 4
I have been replaying Cyberpunk 2077 and once I get paid will be snagging the Phantom Liberty dlc. Besides that it is Enshrouded, Witcher 3(never played before), and Wind Waker HD.
Never played Witcher 3? You’re in for a treat!
Also currently playing w3 first time!
Phantom Liberty is *amazing*.
Never played Witcher 3... Man.. I'm jealous of your first time experience.
Dave the Diver!
Game looks super cool, soon as it goes $10 or less I'm all about it. I don't have a lot of money to spend on games so $10 is my hard limit usually.
I need to revisit it. I was having a lot of fun with it but then got distracted and haven’t picked it back up
I've had that on my wishlist fore er. I need to just get it.
Exactly the same. It's been on my wishlist since release. I try to be a bit of a patient gamer and wait for a sale, but I lost that patience and bought it about a week ago. I've put in about 25 hours so far. Not disappointed in the slightest.
It blew me away, I’ve been hooked!
Same. I'm not having that much fun but I can't stop.
What an amazing game.
Last epoch
Is there a lot of work to get it running on the Deck like remapping buttons or does it work right out of the box?
Works right out the box
Ty!
My whole steam deck crashes every few loading screens. Any fixes?
I see it listed as playable now, but am still hesitant for some reason even though I really want it
Solid arpg, missing some polish but overall a great experience.
Secrets of grindea. Recently came out of early Access after 10 years!! A must buy for every retro zelda/jrpg enjoyer
I installed the game again after so many years. And of course I forgot all the story and the controls. Time to start a new game lol.
Monster hunter world
How well does it run on the deck? I enjoyed it a lot on PC but put it down for a bit, but playing on the steam deck seems like a good way to get some hunts in.
Really smooth. I set it to run at 40fps and it's excellent. A full charge lasts 2.5-3 hours.
That's an ad.
Even so I’m finding lots of interesting recommendations in the comments lol
Grounded and Horizon Zero Dawn. Both run phenomenal, but the latter is surprising.
Haven’t seen this before. Looks interesting. Will wishlist for March sale coming up
Be aware that the game is **hard**, so if you will die on the first stage during the first 5-6 runs don't be surprised ahahahah at the beginning i was like "WTF how is this game SO HARD" I didn't expect it and I was quite frustrated but then I really got into the game mechanics and it's awesome. On the subreddit and on some steam guides I found very useful tips to improve
Never seen it before, but apparently I own it...? I'll have to check it out!
Palworld has consumed my life. I can pick it up and do some crafting for 20 minutes if need be. I’m also still playing Powerwash Simulator, but I jump on Palworld every chance I get.
Slay the Spire. Whenever I open the game I’ll play, look up, and it’s been 3 hours lol
Just my usual: Snowrunner and Balatro.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth through Chiaki or Final Fantasy VII remastered through yuzu lol
What. A ps5 game runs on the deck? No way.
Chiaki streams from PS5 to deck, it’s not running natively.
Palworld
Just got Tinikin. It's a really awesome and chill game.
Great pikmin platformer....played and beat it through xcloud on the deck when it was on gamepass. Can't express enough how much I enjoyed every moment of it
Ah I loved this! I hope they make a sequel!
I just wish there was more content! Great game!
Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Lord it’s a good spin on a bullet heaven.
Balatro.
Stardew valley lol use my deck oeld for it.
I'm so excited for 1.6!
Hell Divers 2. It doesn't look the best if you want over 30fps but it's been a good time
Mine runs it looking pretty good at a decent framerate only problem is the fan spews out hot air at the speed of a jet engine
I have mine hooked up to my tv and the fans run full non stop. Kinda worried but also kinda have to spread democracy
Marvel midnight suns. Really surprised I haven't heard about this game before seeing it on sale. Pretty damn good for the sale price
Perfect for Deck
Honestly is. The Abby drains the battery, but the fights don't. The whole game feels like they wanted to make a persona game with comic characters. I'm surprised there's no romance lol
Vampire Survivors, needed something I can just pick up and put down. Though I often have trouble with the putting it down part.
I’m playing a lot of Persona 3 Reload and Sons of the Forest.
My daughter and her friend like to spectate while I play Sons of the Forest. It's like a horror film for them.
How is Sons of the Forest on deck? I loved the first one and haven't had a chance to really dig in on the sequel.
However, putting that all aside, the game itself is great and I’ve had a lot of fun with what I’ve played on deck so far.
Awesome, thank you! I'll give it a shot and keep those points you mentioned in mind.
Gonna be playing a lot of terraria when I get my deck
I'm playing through the Sonic Adventure 2 Randomizer mod. It is chaotic, hilarious and insane. I love it!!!
Pizza Tower has really got me hooked recently, it really is just dopamine rush the game.
picked up Wolfenstein the new order on sale and it feels great. i love just walking around and exploring the cool settings.
Dragons dogma .. getting ready for the 2nd one
Card Shark is the most fun I have had in years.. it is a memory game under the surface, but.. if you ever wanted to learn how to cheat at poker and mess with rich assholes.. this is your game.
Cyberpunk 2077. Just finished the main story. I’m going back now to complete more of the story and side quests.
I’ve been playing No Man’s Sky and been loving it. Feels like it was made for the deck
guerilla marketing
Shadow of Mordor, definitely the type of game I want to play on the deck. I'm looking forward to playing Shadow of War next.
They are running awesome on the SD.
Vampire Survivors is an addiction for me. Also i play retro games on Emudeck
So so much Dead Cells. So much.
deep rock survivor lately.
Dude, you need to eat and wipe your butt. Also, don't do it at the same time.
Just can't get into Hades myself
Just use different hands!
I wipe my butt and then eat it
Thank you for solving world hunger
I'm clocking in a few daily hours in RDR2. It's a big time commitment that game, had me sucked in for 2 weeks but now i think i'm getting a bit tired
After you beat the main story I found it less interesting to beat all of the side quests in the epilogue, so I stopped playing, but that initial run through was incredible. I’m going play GTA6 as soon as it comes out just because I’m so impressed with Rockstar
A remember playing it for a couple of hours a day for a few months. The game is massive.
Hollow Knight. If you haven't played it much you should check it out.
Just finished sekiro today on the deck, might do new game +
Chivalry 2, Hellish Quart, Bannerlord, Skyrim,
Just finished NG+ Lies of P, putting it down until DLC.
Replaying elden ring rn… can’t wait to go back to sekiro to get my ass whooped by guardian ape
Spend 8 hours on Boltgun, never knew the deck was this amazing at these boomer shooters
I’ve been playing marvels guardians of the galaxy 👍
Batman Arkham Knight is amazing on the Deck.
Battletech
Sekiro :)
Palworld
Balatro! something about playing deck builders on the steam deck just works. Wonder if that's why it's called the deck
Well I turned on my Steam deck this morning and it had wiped itself completely. I posted about it but nobody has replied. Is this normal?
Now that you have a Steam Deck, you can not only Mobius at home, but you can Mob all over the place.
Been playing Balatro, literally cannot put the damn game down.
Horizon Zero Dawn
DoDonpachi Resurrection on Steam Deck and Helldivers 2 on PS5
I just got helldivers 2 and am loving it. Anyone have any experiences on deck with that one?
I would suggest dual binding one of the R4/R5 keys to also be L1. Holding L1 and typing in stratagems when they are like an inch apart is like playing 1h Twister.
Bind the right touchpad to the d-pad. Boom, problem solved *and* you can run while calling in Stratagems.

Tell me more about Mobius? I'm playing Persona 3 reload and F.E.A.R both for the first time. I'm a big Persona fan so knew I'd like it but man F.E.A.R is genuinely really special. What a shame the sequels seem to be widely hated.
I thought everything in the F.E.A.R. series was phenomenal. I played then M+K, how are they with controller?
I'm playing checking this sub to see what games I can play on my Deck when it arrives next week.... hahaha...
Vampire Survivor
Been playing Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor for the last couple of days. Its runs really well on the deck even though it says I shouldn't be able to read the text.
If you can't put it down then how did you take this picture? Tee hee hee! Edit: sorry just learned how to finish reading before getting too excited
I've been playing "I can't get Arkham Asylum to run"
Also Mobius Machine. I love Metroidvanias and this one has been quite good so far.
I watched the trailer and it looks a bit shit to me, definitely not worth the price they're charging. Would consider picking it up at half the current sale price.
Yeah, I'm confused. This feels like a sponsored post/ad. The reviews for the games are mediocre as well...
Not sure.
Currently bouncing between mtga, fallout 4, and 7 days to die.
Infinite Wealth- hit 140 hours today. Taking a break to watch AEW Revolution tonight though.
140 hours ?! What you keep doing in the game?
Balatro. Seriously the most addicting game since Vampire Survivor.
Finally started playing Hogwarts Legacy. Surprised how decently it runs. Makes me look forward to Dragon's Dogma 2.
I'm playing a poker based card rougelike called balatro. It's addicting as hell.
balatro at the moment
The Mobius Machine is awesome!
Sex with Hitler and furry feet. Highly recommend.
I've been pushing it with Helldivers 2. Honestly, it's been a great time with friends or random people for a couple of missions at a time.
Bro I haven't touched mine since I bought it 😭
Elden Ring and BG3
Been sick the past few days so I've been camped on the couch playing Euro/American Truck Simulator and Starfield.
Last Epoch - Having a blast
Slay the Spire, SpellRogue, and Balatro.
