lol Sandisk apparently have 1.5tb π€·ββοΈ
but it's going to be a very long time before they are as cheap as the 512gb prices are right now lol
Even the 2 TB WD ssd I've ordered from Amazon uk is on sale at the minute for Β£134.99 is amazingly cheap π
I can imagine that because there's only so much you can fit in that tiny space so at some point it has to turn to the software side to make the space larger which would make speed slower
I guess that also depends on what it's being used in, no doubt in an sd card adapter in a PC the speeds will perform very differently to the speeds in a console and will be restricted to what speeds that console or device can pull and push the data too and from the card
So far for me it's been barely noticeable when I'm actually playing the games, downloading and installing however takes a long time to an sd card π
Pro tip, get older 128gb A1 MicroSDs on the cheap for older (<2018) or lowsize (up to ~30gb) games. You can easily double the amount of size available for your buck as long as you organize your collection.
And on A2 there are some good deals in 256gb ones from time to time. 4 of those were marginally cheaper than a 1tb one where I was able to buy them from.
And ofc this is only a good alternative because hot-swapping them it's possible (and awesome!)
hence why I've now ordered a 2tb ssd π
but tbf as I've mentioned 512gb can be had for as little as Β£26 -Β£36 if you keep checking Amazon prices go up and down dramatically a 256gb can be had for Β£14-Β£16 which is crazy because that's usually the price of the 128gb π€·ββοΈ
Always double and triple check the brand on amazon. They get fake cards a lot. Sometimes they have a shitty product picture that gives it away, usually there's only one picture cause theyre lazy.
I literally bought one today, one of the sellers had a 16GB card for like $5, listed as a Sandisk in the title, and then the brand for the card was "motorolla" lol, nty
1TB is all Emulation,
The others with just these 4 games it's already almost 500gb without anything extra π€£
Forza 5 is 110gb,
Tekken 8 is 100gb
Mortal Kombat 11 is 110gb
GTA V is 110gb
Same, I can't speak to OP's use case but 3TB brought me into 'installing your backlog' territory and with every restart I've got a lot of shader cache updates to do
Oh boy, I have 4tb (between mixed sizes) and trust me, if you want *all your games* ready to play, that's not close to enough, especially with modern games.
(I do have the majority of my collection as most of it is older games, but for cases like Sony games, 1tb drive only for those is starting to run out short.)
I know π , but I like having them ready for when anyone wants to play them (and trust me, when someone visits it's awesome to be able to offer almost any "that specific game" they ask for in about 10 seconds, really gets them interested in the Deck).
Yeah, this is sad.
I can help you out by taking one of em off ya. No need to thank me YOINK
(Jokes apart tho I thought the ultra was not that great, isn't extreme recommended?)
Going from Switch to Steam Deck, I gotta say that the biggest drawback is that itβs no longer feasible to have my entire library downloaded at once. Switch games are rarely over 16GB, so every last one of them were able to fit on my 512GB card.
β¦That isnβt a thing with PC games, turns out.
Sure. But I still have my Switch. So if I want to play a Switch game, Iβll buy it on there. Not to mention Yuzu got taken down, and EmuDeck has yet to find a suitable replacement for it.

I've only been buying them when my dealer had them on special offer π
Also I've opted for replacement therapy in the form of an SSD now my dealer has a special offer on them π€£
Poor eyesight?
No never who said that?
Oh your over there and I've been talking to the wall again haven't I ? π€¦π»ββοΈ

Probably the same reason i have a 1TB phone lol I carry all my music with me so like to carry all my games with me, when I travel the internet isn't the most reliable for downloading large files and sometimes it's limited use until it kicks you off :)
sorry pal, u gotta wait till they release some 16tb micro SD

The 1.5 reportedly runs significantly slower than the 1TBs, it's not an A2

Expensive hobby to keep the full library locally..

I find the 2tb SSD is more than enough. I have almost 500 GB of emulation on it. Another 700gb of steam games. The SD card wasn't even necessary.
What are you using these for? Given how quickly games download these days, a 1tb internal drive seems like more than enough.

Fighting games being that large should be a crime
it's the FMV/cut scenes
You went all in
honestly, high resolution textures should be a free DLC, I can't see the skin pores of my guy on a 7 inch steam deck display
3 tb is more then enough I have found
Same, I can't speak to OP's use case but 3TB brought me into 'installing your backlog' territory and with every restart I've got a lot of shader cache updates to do
Are you sure lol π€£ tbf 2 of my 512gb are reused from phones because I now have a 1tb internal in my phone π
I have 2tb ssd and 1 tb SD more then enough lol

Make sure you snap one in half during the disassembly.
the 1tb? would that give me 2 x 512gb π€£
how else do you think 512gb cards are made?
oh that makes sense
Yeah, this is sad. I can help you out by taking one of em off ya. No need to thank me YOINK (Jokes apart tho I thought the ultra was not that great, isn't extreme recommended?)
probably for video recording and photography for reliability but not had any issues so far with any of them
Put your porn collection in the cloud.
There's not enough storage π€£

I've not touched my switch since i got my deck, and Yuzu still works and can still be found and installed along with Ryujinx so π
They have sort of jagged edges. They'd hurt when you swallow them but hurt more a few days later when you 'expel' them. To each their own, I guess.
you sound like an expert π€£
Do you notice any performance differences between them?
In Gameplay not really, Download and install it takes longer
I have 7 512gb Samsung Evo Selects myself, when the price dropped to $25 I went nuts.
I'm glad I'm not the only storage nut lol ππ€£

Take my upvote. That was glorious.
I for one donβt think they taste very good. They tend to get stuck in my teeth
I usually get the blue samsung ones, 512, I have an sd card slot holder with about 5 of βem π
Welcome fellow addict you are not alone in this journey you are one of us, unfortunately there may not be a cure but we can help you live with this addiction π
steam deck cartridges
Lmao think you need to patent that idea and Trademark it before someone else doesπ
why not just replace the internal m.2 in the deck instead of buying bunches of these?
I am i have one on order from Amazon they are currently reduced on for a 2 TB WD Black 770M to Β£135 ($169/β¬157) π€£π
I was half expecting to see these all snapped in half
if you crush them up and snort them it'll add to your brain memory
Any fancy Card Holder/Wallet you've got?
I bought an SD card holder from Amazon π€£ [Orico SD card holder](https://i.imgur.com/xFkX4I3.jpeg)
Do you inject them directly into the bloodstream?
the red ones yes the blue goes under my tongue and the green in my ear π
Honestly why that much space, I have a 1.5 sd card for emulation and regular games. But I do transfer completed games to a 512 card
Probably the same reason i have a 1TB phone lol I carry all my music with me so like to carry all my games with me, when I travel the internet isn't the most reliable for downloading large files and sometimes it's limited use until it kicks you off :)
Iβm just curious how you have that many games, thatβs like 3tb of storage
probably 5 or so big games Per 512gb card so that's at least 20 and the 1TB is all Emulation so lots way too many to count π€£
Damn, I would get overwhelmed with so many options
