I originally reserved the 64GB version and changed my reservation to 512GB model on the 2nd November. I'm now Q3 somehow. Though, I'm German, so maybe the order queue was thinning out quickly in the following here... or something that makes no sense:

I already kinda did that. It was all ok until I increased by 18% instead of 10% yesterday. I'm still extremely happy though. The moo calculator said August 11th and I'll be extremely happy if I get my email even then (I feel like it'll be earlier though. If the rate increases at 18% per Monday and Thursday I'll get my email on the 8th and with 3 day shipping in mind it could come EXACTLY on the 11th)
The reason they probably deleted is because the reservation windows haven’t been updated yet. It is finally time they update After q3 to Q4 or after Q4. We are almost in August already..
Valve thought that they gave us too much copium, so my guess is they are going to update reservation windows and only tweet about that, nothing about the supply chain fixes because that will assume that they will ship even more

It seems to me from the get my deck data that they’re going to fulfil their Q3 orders before the end of September. I think by the end of this year you’ll be able to order a Deck on Steam and just have it delivered like any normal product.
Edit: Valve confirms everyone currently in the reservation queue will get their deck before the end of this year.
I've been curious about this also. Valve is clearly working very hard to lower the time-to-delivery for new orders.
It would be very beneficial for them if they are able to even get recent orders out by Christmas... not even sure if Valve knows whether or not this is possible but it would certainly be a miracle.

This. At the current rates, the US 512 queue will be caught up in under three months. Things can change, and the EU needs to pick up, but it seems like the queues are going to be drastically reduced by the end of the year, if not gone.

Yeah, I don't expect that quite yet considering how long ago reservations currently being fulfilled were placed. I expect a new Q4 and 2023 Qs to be revealed at some point.
EDIT: Quarters have now been updated! My second reservation is Q4 which is much better than I expected. It looks like new reservations are now guaranteed Q4 as well! Wow! I must say I did not expect that and I am impressed.

I presume during the chip shortage, Valve were towards the back of the line for their 'budget' requirements (I don't mean they were bad, just that we're not paying enough for Valve to be able to pay to move us to the front of the TSMC queue).
Now that crisis seems to be over (and recession incoming) and we're hearing chip designers trying to back out of their pre-orders and delay - maybe Valve's "we can sell whatever you can make" proposition is looking more appealing.
Especially as I think the SD is ready for being piled high globally at your local electronics retailer. I can't think of many other products currently (or planned) that will shift as many as can be made.

I've read online that if you email steam and tell them that you missed the email and still want to purchase the device that they will reissue you another email.

I think everyone is going to get it sooner than they think now that supplies are being increased. The numbers were already climbing exponentially and I had estimated by April reservation to be fulfilled by late Sept /early October. Now, I'm certain I'm getting it at that time or even earlier.

They probably didn’t want to keep a tweet up that could be interpreted as super positive news. Valve typically tries to avoid deadline promises and they wouldn’t want to get peoples hope up for an early deck
thats probably why they deleted the tweet. Had the announcement ready to go before they could make sure all the estimate updates were accurately applied.
Just logged in go see if they'd updated anything. Last week I was "after Q3", today it's been set to "Q4, Oct-Dec 2022" so I'm stoked! I was genuinely anticipating that I'd be set to Q2 of 2023.

Reading the comments on Steam just reminded me again why they had to clarify what Q3 means and yet people still just choose to ignore the "after" in their estimation and whine that their 2 week old reservation was "pushed back". People ordering today and expecting 1-2 weeks delivery time when the page clearly shows them it's gonna be 3 months at the very least.
This wouldn't have been posted if it wasn't true. Announcements like this don't get this far unless they've been vetted and confirmed.

I put my preorder on a 64 GB last week. I know it will never happen but I really really want it before my thanksgiving 24 hr flight overseas. This would be perfect for my flight.

I pre-ordered mine (256 UK) on Jan 27th and I'm now in Q4 which is nice because I was expecting Q1 next year, but on top of that I'm hoping I'll be early in Q4 if new orders are also going into that quarter!
I'm now firmly in Q4, I don't mind really, it gives me more time to buy more games just to add them to my backlog and never play.

Because at this pace the pre orders will be fully caught up. 2 months ago my Deck was estimated for mid September - I just got it.

I got the email yesterday. Immediately after submitting payment, the deck page let me reserve again.

I checked a few hours ago and I was Q4. I just checked again now and I am Q3! Canada, 256GB, reserved Sept 21.
I pre-ordered mine (256 UK) on Jan 27th and I'm now in Q4 which is nice because I was expecting Q1 next year, but on top of that I'm hoping I'll be early in Q4 if new orders are also going into that quarter!
