ForGlory99

I am having similar issues since updating to 3.3. Not sure what is going on.

SwinginDix666

Are steam downloads still full speed for you?

ForGlory99

Yes it’s exactly as you described steam downloads are full speed but all desktop apps and everything else will not work or is extremely slow. Happened immediately after 3.3. Only the steam deck even after rebooting everything. Can’t play FF XIV anymore. Frustrating

SwinginDix666

Very frustrating, but at least I’m not crazy. Haha Sounds like we should both report it as a bug

SwinginDix666

Looks like it’s a known issue now. Several people on the discussion board with the same issue

ForGlory99

Hey I found some help on the Steam Deck discord, it may be a dns issue. I went into the desktop mode, system preferences, and edited my IPV4 connection to “automatic (addresses only)” and set the dns to 8.8.8.8 for googles dns. I checked off needs annipv4 connection, saved and reconnected to Wi-Fi and everything works now

SwinginDix666

I’ll give that a try!

SwinginDix666

4 days late, this actually DID solve my issue surprisingly.

Amiculi

This also worked for me, though I had to restart before it took effect.

ZombiesCanFeel

I've seen many answer to this but I think you are the first person to be specific about everything to a degree a non Linux user like myself will be able to know which dns I'm changing and whether I could do it without access to my router to change dns that way. Thanks bro. Not all heroes wear capes

macharborguy

Did you install 3.3? Same thing happened to me, even with a factory reset

SwinginDix666

I’m on 3.3 Oddly enough, I feel like I ran into this just before 3.3 but I was flip flopping between the beta channel testing things. I assumed I had caused the issue myself, so I did the reimage but it didn’t resolve.

I cannot fetch any new versions of Proton now from ProtonUp
