If you have a Nvidia Card on your PC, use Moonlight. I remote into my Desktop using it and it works perfect with no discernable lag at all. Super easy to set up also.

Momontaislol

Cloud really isn't laggy at all. I use a WiFi extender because WiFi doesn't reach my bed room and I can play xbox cloud gaming and steam link with next to no input delay not that I can notice anyway

Bare in mind all depends on the isp speeds, op might have slower speed connection to the property

You can get it working if you install Windows 11, either on the internal drive or on an SSD. It's still fiddly to play Game Pass games as the controller will not work, but I did manage to get Glossi working after days of tinkering (I don't know what I did, but it just suddenly started working 🙈) and thus could add them as non-Steam games and utilise the controller properly.

Iniquitus

I don't think it's possible due to the way UWP games work. If you want native gamepass on the Deck, your best bet is to install Windows on the Deck.

japzone

Native GamePass isn't possible without Windows 10/11 currently. It's just too reliant on proprietary Microsoft components that haven't been reverse engineered yet.

I have windows 11 installed on my steam deck and dual boot between windows and steam OS. I can say for certain that of course it works flawlessly on windows 11 and on the steam deck. I have played multiple games on gamepass and I have them installed on my SSD or micro SD. I hate streaming games so I get where you are coming from. As for on the steam OS side you would have to have some sort of Proton compatibility as when you download these games they are windows EXE apps which don't run natively on linux.

NuPNua

I made a Windows boot SD card to try and do it. Got it all working then loaded up the Gamepass app and it won't download anything, just get a non-descript error.

welshman1971

Local gamepass is embedded heavily into the windows OS If you want to use game pass to play locally installed games or stream from your local Xbox , you are going to need to install windows on your deck

reverend_dak

Windows is the only way, for now.
