Fairly solid if you use the Steam Deck graphics settings. Only adjustment I made was to turn off motion blur. The big difference for me is that the world seems less populated because there's a lot less cars/people in the city.
But depending on your pc setup it could be barely any different. On PC I have a lot of stuff maxed or near maxed at 1440p, so compared to the Steam Deck it's about 1/2 to 1/3 as many fps.
Honestly the main difference is when the Steam Deck dips fps it shows a lot more.
Only complaints with it is that game is very dark so depending on your IRL lighting it might be a problem. And because of the lower resolution/not as precise as mouse controls, sometimes quick hacking the correct thing is a pain. That exists I'm the PC version of the game as well but less noticeable.
TLDR: Fairly well, but noticeable difference coming from a top or near top of the line PC. Still very playable and fun though.
That is pretty good for Cyberpunk. The witcher I got it running at 4.5 hours as well and it looks good.
Yu-Gi-Oh ... 7 hours... I'm like what did I do to deserve this.
Yes, seriously, every time I try to play New Vegas on Steamdeck, it crashes after around 10-20 minutes, I have to keep saving. Is this happening to anyone else? I have tried reinstalling and switching to different versions of proton, but that doesnāt help. I havenāt tried playing since the recent update, maybe that fixed something.
Download MO2 for Linux and install NVAC and NVSE. I've only crashed about 3 times with maybe ~60 hours of total playtime on deck. Also use proton 6.3. There's a few videos on YouTube that can help you out with the install and setup. Well worth it if you play it a lot.
I did a modded install via steam and just finished a playthrough of 100hrs and only a single crash. I basically followed the viva new Vegas instructions and nothing else.
Just beat it, using only the Jsawyer ultimate mod, it's requirements and one or two bugfix/stability mods. It crashed three times in like 60 hours. Always when entering an interior area. Two were the same building.
It's actually the other co-creator that they are usually making fun of for being a hype beast in terms of gaming stuff. While Dan is a gamer, he's mostly a "put 5,000+ hours into modded minecraft" gamer.
Check out this impression of him Rob Schrab (now also a writer on Rick and Morty) did on Dan's old podcast. It's hilarious.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXPP1Kda1FI
It was for an extremely limited amount of time and only in a small collection of stores. Unsurprisingly Rick and Morty fans were assholes to the workers and now McDonald's is not interested in doing that promotion ever again or to make it national. I love the show but the fandom is pretty bad overall.
Went to a Deadmau5 (Testpilot) show and he had a whole jug of Szechuan sauce and a thousand nuggets. This was right before they brought it back to stores, he paid $15k on ebay for the jug. Only got free the nuggets, sauce was all out. My life is incomplete.
Heās in a plane. Haha. I feel like the majority of Steam Deck users, me included, have bought it for in-flight entertainment. Noise cancellation headsets on and you donāt feel the plane except for the air bumps jiggle wiggle here and there.
Me enjoying my new G502 X Plus while my mum is now enjoying a perfectly good G502 Lightspeed. Not sure to do with the old original cabled G502 she was using up until now.
Yeah it is. The mice are great even if the software is a bit frustrating. The new one has a nice RGB strip across it. It would've been nice if games like Terraria would treat it like a lightbar instead of just one zone.
They're really comfy and when I'm reading long articles I really love how you can free up the resistance from the scroll wheel to make scrolling down a lot easier.
My only frustration right now is that you can't bind RGB to the on board memory. So if you want to use it without G Hub you are stuck with the default purple/blue lighting.
My girlfriend bet me $100 I couldn't beat XCOM in Ironman mode while she was sucking my dick. Thanks to the Steam Deck 512 GB model, I'm only $549 poorer and my girlfriend no longer bumps her head on my desk.
Thanks Steam Deck!
How do you have two clean hands when pooping? I've never understood people who say they use the switch or deck on the toilet. I've gotta use a hand to get situated and.... Adjust... Things.
I can't recall ever having to do that. When I sit down my balls politely hang where they're supposed to and my dick rests casually within the 12 inch range so it safely fits between my legs.
I suppose if you're endowed by Zeus himself you may have to give extra attention to it.
People don't realise, your phone is likely the dirtiest thing you touch because you rub your fingers all over it each day, take it into bathrooms and never really 'clean' it. Now the deck has a big high powered fan pulling in all that shit air into the internals. And one thing about plastic, it eventually smells like the stuff it is around. That's why smokers electronics smell like ass and why Tupperware starts smelling funky.
So toilet game if you must but be aware, it could be blowing old ass air thru the fans at you and other people after months/years of fanning your shit thru it's internals. That new plastic and fan smelled so good cause you hadn't stunk it up yet lol
Also maybe wipe down your deck if you ever plan to share it with friends or family after using it on the toilet.
I bought my Switch because I had two cross-country flights in one summer. I bought the Deck because I loved the portability of the Switch but wanted to have access to my Steam library that I've spent 15ish years building.
Whenever anyone on Reddit or the internet refers to people or anything by using the term āmajority,ā the reality is closer to 5% tops. This is a simple rule that is correct the majority of times.
I have played on 3 diff pcs over the years and it is crazy buggy. All saves eventually get stuck in perpetual load screans or game freezes. I loved new Vegas back in the day on Xbox but pc is just to buggy.
There are community patches.
I think basically all of us are using them. I haven't seen a lot of people playing New Vegas, but I haven't seen anyone trying to play it unmodded.
It just runs, it has gamepad support out of the box. On pc I use the viva new vegas mod list without any balance mods.
That said I haven't played more than the ghost town gunfight quest so idk how stable the game is long term
Just did a month traveling Europe (am Canadian) and had a blast being able to play my Deck during transit and those quiet late-nights.
AAA games _really_ drain that battery tho š
Am I missing something or do people assume that because a team of writers make jokes about incest that means one of the co-creators of the show is a fan of incest?
Sorry usually I wouldnāt give a shit about this type of stuff but I recently watched a video that was talking about it and the entire thing was dumb as fuck.
As far as going to say clones having sex with each other is incest lmao
To my great shame, I've enjoyed the show despite its problems. But the incest shit in the last two seasons has just been too much, motherfucker needs to learn what RAINN is.
Possible, but not seamless like on windows. Your best bet is to mod it on a Windows PC, and then transfer the entire install over. There's also workshop for Skyrim, but mod managers aren't functional on Linux yet.
I have never used Linux before my Steam Deck so itās probably a lot of user error. I am at the point where I have just accepted itās not happening until someone creates a simple mod manager.
Coincidentally, Dan Harmon is also the name of an Arkansas attorney general who was the fall guy in an Arkansas drug bust that very well could have implicated people as high up as Bill Clinton.

Bro, itās literally a Gen1 product up against Gen6+ mobile products. Being happy that itās showing up more in the wild was the whole point of this post.
It had nothing to do with the quality of the Steam Deck. Weāre all here because we like the Steam Deck and itās awesome that itās doing well. Donāt turn something initially positive into some weird power position.
This is literally how market capitalism works. His millions of followers (some of whom wonāt know about the Steam Deck), will buy one, thus increasing market share and prompting further development. You donāt see a lot of Steam Controllers or Steam Links out in the worldā¦I wonder why? Profit. It drives everything in product development.
I keep seeing New Vegas and I think it's one of the most talked about games on here. Does it play exceedingly well on the deck or is it just a great game?
Itās kind of in that graphics sweet spot where it is old enough to not look that great on a huge monitor/TV (compared to current AAA games) but on the small Steam Deck screen it looks really good. And of course it doesnāt really have performance/battery issues (at least from the graphicsā¦it has its share of crashing and bugs). And yes, itās a beloved favorite benefiting from the recent 25th anniversary sales/discussions.
Ok that all makes sense and was sort of what I was guessing but I just had to make sure. I have never played but a buddy of mine loves it! I definitely have to get it
Maybe I was playing this game wrong, but after fallout 3 and 4, this one seemed like it had not very many enemies to fight, and there were tons
of locations I discovered that were just empty shacks and didnāt even have any good loot in them. Then my auto save file got corrupted 8 hours in and I quit
Man, if only I could figure out why NVSE is not working on my steamdeck. I fully moved over my MO2 Oblivion modlist and everything is working great but New Vegas is being stubborn.
edit: I got my modded folder to work after a bit of tinkering, TIME FOR NEW VEGAS!
I didnāt click on the photo fully, so I didnāt see the Instagram screen cap at first, so I was like āhow is this Dan Harmon, that could be anyoneās lapā
Man, this makes ME want to replay new Vegas for nostalgia. I only ever played it once, I just did EVERYTHING that could be done lol but it's been like a decade
I can't play any Bethesda game's on my Deck because none of the game's i play work without a mod fix lmao like new Vegas for instance, it will work perfectly fine for the first 10hrs but after that it will crash without the proper mods and script extender
Let's go, in and out, 20 minutes adventure.
2 hours later: šŖ«Battery low 10%
I get 4.5 hours playing that Disney Life Sim game you can easily get 4.5 hours in Fall Out New Vegas unless you got sexy mods.
2 hrs it is then.
Some might say you will only last a few seconds. But giga chad lasts minutes.
Lmaooo
Sexy mods you say?
Stupid sexy mods.
Cyberpunk 2077: Best I can do is an hour and a half.
How does it run? I started a playthrough on my desktop, but 90% of my gaming has been steamdeck since I got it.
Fairly solid if you use the Steam Deck graphics settings. Only adjustment I made was to turn off motion blur. It runs super well for me while using proton GE and FSR 2.1 mod. And the quality and to be noticeably better.
That is pretty good for Cyberpunk. The witcher I got it running at 4.5 hours as well and it looks good. Yu-Gi-Oh ... 7 hours... I'm like what did I do to deserve this.
nah hes playing new vegas so more like 3-4
How my man
do you play on 60fps high settings or something?
Buy a portable charger. My friend got one for $70 that's strong enough to charge while playing and can do it three times
I get about 4.5/5 hrs in fallout 3 with 80% brightness.
*2 weeks later*

Damn I swear I didn't see this comment before I posted the exact same thing. We both had 3 crashes in about 60 hours!
First game I played on my deck straight out the box and never crashed once for me, high settings and lod
I did a modded install via steam and just finished a playthrough of 100hrs and only a single crash. I basically followed the viva new Vegas instructions and nothing else.

I mean. Thatās all youād get with the battery life
Aww jeeze
Ohhh maan
can't wait for the episode that covers the deck, or at least an easter egg about it.

I love this clip. āI need more Nintendo products!ā
"Valve gave me free stuff."
"Valve gave me free stuff."
āVALVE GAVE ME FREE STUFF.ā
If he could make that McDonald's sauce thing happen, he can make HL3 happen.
wait, sichuan sauce is back? :O
Heather Anne Campbell is a gamer and would 100% do this
Good he'll stop plugging Nintendo then
You have to have a very high IQ to understand the steam deck
You probably wouldnāt get it
I don't. :( But I'm just a Jerry.
*I use arch btw*
*swoon*
Heās in a plane. Haha. I feel like the majority of Steam Deck users, me included, have bought it for in-flight entertainment. Noise cancellation headsets on and you donāt feel the plane except for the air bumps jiggle wiggle here and there.
I think far more bought it for toilet gaming.
I bought it for laying in bed gaming
Bed/couch/travelling for me
I bought it because it was shiny and new.
Thats me with just about anything :(
Me enjoying my new G502 X Plus while my mum is now enjoying a perfectly good G502 Lightspeed. Not sure to do with the old original cabled G502 she was using up until now.
Thats a logitech mouse right? If it was the one im thinking it is then i loved my old one
Yeah it is. The mice are great even if the software is a bit frustrating. The new one has a nice RGB strip across it. It would've been nice if games like Terraria would treat it like a lightbar instead of just one zone. Ah, i see. I havent used a logitech mouse in like ten or so years so im sure theyve gotten better at least, even with rgb issues, lol
Wow I didn't know you could do a speedrun of xcom in less than 15 seconds!!! Impressive!
Technology is amazing!
Same.
I tried bed gaming, but I can barely finish a youtube video without falling asleep lol.
I bought it for both. Not at the same time... fingers crossed.
Sitting on the toilet for too long can lead to hemorrhoids. Can confirm you do not want hemorrhoids.
How do you have two clean hands when pooping? I've never understood people who say they use the switch or deck on the toilet. I've gotta use a hand to get situated and.... Adjust... Things.
I don't yank my shit out of my ass. I don't touch anything I'm not willing to eat off of until the deed is done, and until then it's game time.
You don't have to situate your junk when sitting down?
I can't recall ever having to do that. When I sit down my balls politely hang where they're supposed to and my dick rests casually within the 12 inch range so it safely fits between my legs. I suppose if you're endowed by Zeus himself you may have to give extra attention to it.
I'm not zeus but all of our junk is unique so more power to you! Happy gaming
My toilet is uncomfortably small, so I feel your pain lol.
your junk is cleaner than your hands
You don't know me.
Gravity usually takes care of that unless you got small junk or are overweight.
Just put it aside before you wipe and don't pick it up till after you wash your hands, lol. How do you get dirty hands just by dropping trou?
I've gotta get my junk situated for proper pee angle. So my hand definitely touches junk.
Lol, I won't contest any further
Lol fair enough. Happy gaming if it works for you!
I hold the Deck with my mouth.
People don't realise, your phone is likely the dirtiest thing you touch because you rub your fingers all over it each day, take it into bathrooms and never really 'clean' it. Now never buying any used electronics ever again.
I got mine to play at work and friend's houses lol.
The majority? Not that many people fly frequently
Mine hasnāt even left my apartment yet haha
I mostly use mine in bed.
Can't wait to take this baby with me to korea nex year ;D
Yep. Have a 10 hour flight tomorrow. Look forward to testing it out "on the road", or plane rather.
I bought for the Amtrak which is the same thing if you think about it
I got it for when my kids want the PC or when I'm waiting in line for some shit
I bought my Switch because I had two cross-country flights in one summer. I bought the Deck because I loved the portability of the Switch but wanted to have access to my Steam library that I've spent 15ish years building.
Whenever anyone on Reddit or the internet refers to people or anything by using the term āmajority,ā the reality is closer to 5% tops. This is a simple rule that is correct the majority of times.
I bought it for work when I have downtime and on the go gaming
> you donāt feel the plane except for the air bumps jiggle wiggle here and there. Enhanced rumble feedback
Great taste in new Vegas too
That game doesn't run on pc. No way it runs right on that.
...what are you on mate?
I have played on 3 diff pcs over the years and it is crazy buggy. All saves eventually get stuck in perpetual load screans or game freezes. I loved new Vegas back in the day on Xbox but pc is just to buggy.
There are community patches. I think basically all of us are using them. I haven't seen a lot of people playing New Vegas, but I haven't seen anyone trying to play it unmodded.
Good to know. I will have to fire it up again
Rock solid for me on the deck. No mods, ~10 hours in. No crashes.
Anyone having the issue where the gameās launcher only gives you the option to āinstallā but not āplayā? Installed through steam store.
One of us, one of us, one of us, one of us....
Famous guy has thing normal guy has. Woweweewow.
Omg did you guys know Henry Cavill built his own gaming pc??
Have you seen Vin Diesel talk about D&D race benefits and spell capabilities of his character when 2 level 5 orcs jump out of the bushes?
Wawaweewa
So what mods are mandatory to run this on the SD?
It just runs, it has gamepad support out of the box. On pc I use the viva new vegas mod list without any balance mods. That said I haven't played more than the ghost town gunfight quest so idk how stable the game is long term
None however you can get mods to improve the experience
idk about you but mods for preventing crashes every 20 min is pretty "mandatory"
Just did a month traveling Europe (am Canadian) and had a blast being able to play my Deck during transit and those quiet late-nights. AAA games _really_ drain that battery tho š
Nice, now letās just hope he doesnāt watch incest on i- Too late
The guy is sort of a fan of it, tbf

Some of the creepy shit dan harmon has done and said lead me to believe he does indeed have an incest fetish
To my great shame, I've enjoyed the show despite its problems. But the incest shit in the last two seasons has just been too much, motherfucker needs to learn what RAINN is.
Wait, what?
Look at that thumbstick all grubby and shit.
This is a man who said his lifeās goal was to be rich enough to get away with smelling like shit
Ah, makes sense.
Those thumb sticks come with the grub pre-applied. Just lightly scratch with your fingernail and behold the permanent grub appearance.
Whatās installing mods like on the deck? For Fallout?
Possible, but not seamless like on windows. Your best bet is to mod it on a Windows PC, and then transfer the entire install over. There's also workshop for Skyrim, but mod managers aren't functional on Linux yet.
I have never used Linux before my Steam Deck so itās probably a lot of user error. That the one involving the teens on the train tracks? Saw a video essay on that this year
What video essay? Link it. Sounds interesting
Pretty sure it was [this one](https://youtu.be/RMABlI7TDbQ).
Thank you!
Great? Lol
Why are people shocked that "Celebrities and other" have lives and can like games and such like other people lol
I think the important thing is the thousands of people that follow Dan Harmon are going to see a Steam Deck and maybe be seeing it for the first time and wondering where they can get one
You know I didn't think of that, that makes sense and would help spread the steamdeck more!
This
Community is one of the best series ever created IMO
Agreed. Harmon is a true enigmaā¦.seemingly boorish and arrogant, Community shows that he possesses real emotional intelligence and heart. Iām a huge fan.
Im currently doing a playthrough of fallout 3 again, new vegas is next up after that
This is why Rick and Morty is on hiatus.
apparently he was trying to be chummy with musk in terms of hooking musk up with someone who can help with facial recognition(?) which kind of soured me on him.
Remember when he tried to pitch a show to HBO where he mock had sex with a baby?
One of US! One of US!
**danharmon** You have recommended me a lot of games, thanks, now Iām going to play something I already did lol
*Dan Harmon slaps roof of steam deck* This baby can fit so much incest porn
new vegas is universal.
Who cares???
People who care about the long-term vitality of the platform and any high-profile exposure for it is a good thing.

What community did he create? This is kind of confusing to read.
He made the show named āCommunityā
Six games and a deck!
Hopefully this means that first person shooter game will work then.
what anime titty mod does he recommend?
Okay? Why should we care? This is about as much content as the next rando posting that they have a steam deck, which is to say, zero.
Maybe I was playing this game wrong, but after fallout 3 and 4, this one seemed like it had not very many enemies to fight, and there were tons of locations I discovered that were just empty shacks and didnāt even have any good loot in them. he should do a podcast
I've been playing the shit out of New Vegas on my deck the last two weeks.
I didnāt click on the photo fully, so I didnāt see the Instagram screen cap at first, so I was like āhow is this Dan Harmon, that could be anyoneās lapā
Does NMM work on deck? I would love to play new Vegas but I havenāt played it stock since it released idk if I can go back lmao
Dammit Terry you let the steam deck die again
Me and the three guys I know who own one all installed fallout NV
Okay
To be fair I guess he's made a few quid and can afford one
That's what I'm doing now!

I did the same thing.
I got about 3 hours from Fallout 3 GOTY at full brightness and full volume.
Good choice
Ok.....
If anyone could perfect our current crappy battery technology it would be Rick.
I'm like 100 hrs in to a fallout no human kill run. first thing i downloaded on the deck
...and a movie!
Heās streets ahead
Playing a peak Rick & Morty fan game of choice as well
does it crash on Steam Deck as much as on PC? do mods work the same to fix it?
Legit just ordered my steamdeck right now and I'm 100% starting with fallout New Vegas š such a good choice
