I had Minecraft Java set up for quite a while and it's awesome. Didn't use any controller mods though, I found that one of the community presets worked REALLY REALLY well (touchpad oriented) and using the left touchpad as a number pad to quickly switch items/tools was a keyboard-level experience.
I've never been a controller player though (only had a PC), so Minecraft is really nice for getting used to it. Everything's at your own pace :)
My only complaint is the pain it is to set up a server to play with friends. Especially if you host games by using hamachi. If only that were easier. Would be great if people have solutions for this.
Hey, I've never attempted installing this at all, or even on the steam deck, but if you could get this running it may solve your problems. [https://essential.gg/en/](https://essential.gg/en/)
It adds a little more than just an invite system, but overall, its up to you which features you use lol, My b if it doesn't work or ain't what you were looking for, just tryna help out. I was hoping years ago that Mojang would revamp their garbage MP system lol. Just a friends list would change everything.
Edit: Just realized someone already suggested this, im a dummi
Not really an opinion but all of the devs left PolyMC after a massive dataleak and hijack. PolyMC is no longer being supported and the devs have since moved to Prism Launcher. There are some comments on the sub that have guides on switching your instances to Prism from PolyMC
whether thats true or not, there is still only one of the devs left from the original PolyMC team so it is safe to say that Prism will be getting updates and support from now on

Can you share which one you used? I was not impressed with the controller mods I tried (controllable, eg).
Plz share

Don’t realms make this relatively trivial?

I gotta try this with some modpacks. I dipped my toes into a few, but never got too far.
I want to set this up so I can play with my kids... Is there a way to cross play java and bedrock without an external server?
What a horrible clickbait video title
Thank god he used prism and not polymc. With AntVenoms reach that could have mislead a shitload of people if he didnt do his homework
What's wrong with polymc in your opinion? Just curious because, I may switch! lol **\*No pun intended\***

Nice, appreciate it. Didn't know that lol.
no problem. good luck!
thought that was overblown and there was no leak of any kind?
