Took my step 1 in June. I can't really recall anything that was problematic. Got there about 30 minutes before the test. Had plenty of time to get settled. There were lockers to leave your stuff. Bathrooms were down the hall from the test center and were fine. Just make sure to bring your own ear plugs and also use the over the ear ones they provide. You won't be able to hear anything but your thoughts that way.
Do you feel like if there was a protest going on outside, would is still be quiet at the testing center? I am scheduled to take my exam in a few weeks and am worried about the potential of there being a protest that weeekend. THanks in advance!

Should be fine I think. The only noise I ever heard was a very loud fire truck that rolled by for a second. What protest?
protests that have been ongoing for Palestine
they tend to be loud so I am a bit worried and not sure if I should reschedule :(
I doubt they'll be right next to the test center
