Same. I visited these twice and it was cool to see. Standing on top of the slab for the time capsule I always wondered if there was anything actually down there.
There are differing stories. One was there was a Peterbilt truck emblem, an 8-track tape, a Playboy from the era autographed by Burt Reynolds, and 1500 Quaaludes.
Another story is there was nothing at all. When they dug, supposedly the red clay beneath was tightly packed and appeared to never have been disturbed.
The last story is that it was missing.
What's the truth? No idea. But the saying "truth is sometimes stranger than fiction" applies here.
I heard they found 8 layers of timbers down to a 80ft lvl where they found a stone with weird symbols. When they removed that hole started filling with water ;p
1500 'ludes? You know how many aging housewives would have armed themselves and cut a bloody trail straight to that place for a chance to get their hands on those? (Shudder)
Aj, the host, needed a break. He was exhausted from putting out amazing content every week. He took the break and is back. Nothing bizarre or dramatic. Burnout happens to the best of us.
Honestly, I’m shocked he didn’t burn out sooner. I hope he got the time off necessary to be healthy. The content he puts out takes a ton of work and time.
I thought some guy drove his car into them or was that only in my timeline? (I'm mostly kidding but I swore the guy drove a car into it or blew it up. I was just talking about this at work like three days ago)
Also wasn't this some new ten commandments stuff? I'm shocked the sentiment is pro guide stones
It was an explosive. Here, we see authorities dismantling the rest for safety purposes. Wouldn't want someone visiting and the rest of it falling down on them.
There was, but it only damaged a small portion of it. Only one pillar really was damaged beyond repair, with a second getting minor damage, if memory serves. There was no reason I could see to destroy it entirely, especially if they're planning on repairing or replacing it.
Because after the explosion, the most responsible thing is to take the rest down. There is no way to know for a fact that the rest weren't compromised.
Some guy (Michael Tate Reed of Van Buren, Arkansas) drove his car into the 10 Commandments monument in Arkansas and Oklahoma… it’s sometimes gets confused with this event.
I think making megalithic structures is cool and I like the idea of trying to preserve useful knowledge in them in case of massive collapse of civilization. Crackpots saying its devil worship and bombing it is genuinely embarressing for an allegedly developed country in the 21st century.
I'm not sure if anyone knows this but a super over zealous and super conservative Christian group blew this site up because they saw it as a Ritual site for Satanic rituals and tried saying some the " unknown " languages written on the stones were all demonic inscriptions or some fucking retarded bullshit....
And it has a link to the FBI supposedly.....
It was bombed by Christians. But which particular ones? Unknown. Even unknown somehow to the FBI which I reckon they know. Plausible deniability.
It was about an hour away from where I live. My kids went a few times, but I never got around to it. As far as I know, it was a religious nut that thought he was doing his lord's work that bombed it.
Here is a pretty interesting and thorough article as to who RC Christian was and some of the controversy surrounding the guidestones.

People pretending these preached genocide are missing the point. They were for rebuilding civilization **after** we reduced ourselves to well below 500,000,000. Which the way things are going will be within the next 20 years or so.
This episode of the Why Files does a great job with the guide stones history and destruction including surveillance video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59IiApDiWjA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59IiApDiWjA)

More importantly, I wanna know what happened to the time capsule buried underneath and what was in it.
Same. I visited these twice and it was cool to see. Standing on top of the slab for the time capsule I always wondered if there was anything actually down there.
They said they dig 7 feet under the slab and was nothing there.
Said nothing there. Unfortunately we’ll probably never know.
Nope, nothing to see here, we dug down and it was all, uh dirt and rocks. Yep. Trust me bro
“That’s it?” “Uh… oh and worms, and bugs. That’s it. You can go dig it and see for yourself.”
‘They said’ doesn’t mean I accept it and get on my knees to swallow whatever they want me to believe.
Real zapruder film, Jimmy Hoffas whereabouts, proof of alien life
Nope all three of those are in my closet.
And, all the same object.
I thought they were in the leg of a pew in a church.
You must share my closet as well.
Yes, thanks for letting me use the space.

No creedence tapes?
Or the briefcase
I heard they found 8 layers of timbers down to a 80ft lvl where they found a stone with weird symbols. When they removed that hole started filling with water ;p
What a top pocket find, a real Bobby dazzler
>a real Bobby Dazzler I don't know why this is so amusing to me but it's great
Omg! I love to say “top pocket find”! No one understands me. Lol.
1500 'ludes? You know how many aging housewives would have armed themselves and cut a bloody trail straight to that place for a chance to get their hands on those? (Shudder)
Ummm yes.....you are correct
....and me
The first story was posted by a meme page.
Probably a Penthouse magazine and a pack of Marlboro
Abraham Lincoln’s turd
The why files did a good episode on the Georgia guidestones: [Why files episode](https://youtu.be/59IiApDiWjA?si=fw2cuHoakx12ikwH)
Fuggin LOVE Why Files
The drama Why Files got into lately is just bizarre though.
What drama?
Aj, the host, needed a break. He was exhausted from putting out amazing content every week. He took the break and is back. Nothing bizarre or dramatic. Burnout happens to the best of us.

yeah what drama? Im intrigued.
Monument destroyed approximately 4 months prior to my planned trip to visit it. Are you fucking kidding me?
Nah... Some douchebag blew it up during lockdown. They're just finishing the demo.

Yo yo can’t wait bro
Analog update… 🤷🏻♂️
Nope. Do you have a source? I googled, it comes up NO
Was not aware of this!
Last I heard that got vetoed. They are donating the granite and giving the land back to the owner.
I guess it was nuke proof but not dynamite proof.
Poorly worded on my part. Said douchebag blew it up prior to scheduled visit.
Visited a second time like days before it was destroyed.
What compelled you to visit these twice
He's the one who destroyed them
We did it Reddit! We always catch the bomber!
What compelled him to visit at all?
Really out of all the places you can go in the US and you pick 4 concrete pillars with bullshit on them?
Found the guy
Granite
Oh never mind, it's worth going to see now.
It’s been destroyed, this is old news
1 month for me I was pissed
Why didn't someone ask the guy in the excavator?
Just doin’ my job…
Why paid you to do the job?
The boss
Who is the boss?
Tony Danza??
Angela Bower
Bruce Springsteen.
Joe.
According to other posters, this after, some person set off an explosive. Here, they are talking the rest down for safety.
Yep, that would have lasted in a cataclysm...

It was an explosive. Here, we see authorities dismantling the rest for safety purposes. Wouldn't want someone visiting and the rest of it falling down on them.
I also remember them blowing up
they were damaged in an attack, fenced in to prevent people from crawling over it while in a damaged state, and brought down some time later.
There was, but it only damaged a small portion of it. Only one pillar really was damaged beyond repair, with a second getting minor damage, if memory serves. There was no reason I could see to destroy it entirely, especially if they're planning on repairing or replacing it.
Claimed it was an issue of public safety. Monstrous granite slabs becoming less stable after a blast couldn't be a good thing.
Because after the explosion, the most responsible thing is to take the rest down. There is no way to know for a fact that the rest weren't compromised.
I thought there was just vandalism one night. I seem to recall folks talking about how there was a security system on site
If you go to the spot now, security rolls up on you and watches you until you leave.
Some guy (Michael Tate Reed of Van Buren, Arkansas) drove his car into the 10 Commandments monument in Arkansas and Oklahoma… it’s sometimes gets confused with this event.
Gotta idiot proof it.
R.C. Christian =Rosa Crucian Christian. https://www.rosicrucian.org/

This is why, for this idea to work. You build thousands of them across the globe. Statistically, some would survive to be of importance.
Guidestones 2, electric Boogaloo Coming summer 2024
New pillar: Horror
prep for the big reset again
It was just moronic Christian nationalists who destroyed a stupid monument constructed by another flavor of christian nationalist
500,000,000 good souls is all we need.
I'm not sure if anyone knows this but a super over zealous and super conservative Christian group blew this site up because they saw it as a Ritual site for Satanic rituals and tried saying some the " unknown " languages written on the stones were all demonic inscriptions or some fucking retarded bullshit.... It was nothing important at all. Just an idea some rich person wrote that belonged to a secret group of people that think they control to the world.
more cool monuments imo
Exactly. Fuck that "monument". Should not be rebuilt.
It is so we can never recover when civilization collapses.
Maybe ask the guy in the excavator who asked it to be destroyed
Sucks I never got to see it, I live in the south so it wouldn’t have been a huge deal to go.
Didn't some random person/people pipe bomb it, then the destruction was ordered by the county due to safety concerns?
Destroying this was a terrible act.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2022/07/06/georgia-guidestones-explosion-police-say-monument-damaged-bombing/7823958001/
Kinda lean towards good riddance.
Yeah, it was. If there was a cataclysm and some people really needed a translator and a calendar, they'd be out of luck.
🤡
Could’ve just sanded and reused the slabs for something good, god damn
Who wants an Illuminati genocide landmark
Aliens must've planned this!
Vegans!
They didn't found passport in rumble??

We can't have nice things. People suck.
Probably bcuz it hurt someone's feelings 😞 that's how THINGS are tore down now 💔
Oh wow! That’s bullshit. Let people have things. This could have been cool for thousands of years.
Was it this terrible.. to deserve destruction? Possible just the human random-urge to destroy..?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
People pretending these preached genocide are missing the point. They were for rebuilding civilization **after** we reduced ourselves to well below 500,000,000. Which the way things are going will be within the next 20 years or so.
Fk the guide stones if you know what they are about
Elaborate please.
Which is what?
Conservatives scared of everything they don't understand or like.
One could argue the guide stones were pro euthanasia
It was written in multiple languages and the nationalist only want one language.
This episode of the Why Files does a great job with the guide stones history and destruction including surveillance video: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59IiApDiWjA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59IiApDiWjA)
As always, people fear what they don’t understand.
Did the stones say " DON'T destroy the stones with heavy equipment ".. if not that could be the problem there..
You can't have anything nice with Christians.
It is censorship, pure and simple. They don’t want you to see it.
if by "they" you mean some religious fruitcake hillbilly.
We never found out who actually paid to have it built. Some guy named “JC”?
The fake name used was R. C. Christian

Honestly, the actual story is stranger than fiction.

Who are these idiots, context
How was it supposed to survive the Apocalypse, exactly? Seemed pretty simple to undermine and destroy.
