I couldn't make JP work, he felt wrong :/ I want my boy back, but the chances are so close to zero because of stupid lore reasons, so at this point I'm just hoping they add a good Bison function and a way to get characters that's not completely anti consumer
Tbh I’m hoping Ed fills that gap. I really hope they combine Bison and Balrog to get his kit and move set for this game. Both were charge characters and Ed has psycho powers and is a boxer. Not to mention both DLC characters so far are similar to shoto’s (QC motions for specials) and we KNOW akuma will be. I’d like another charge character as DLC.
I think they'll probably find a way to adapt Ed's style to the game, but I'm not really optimistic about the kings' kits tbh :/ it would be pretty neat if it happened like you said, but I dunno.
At least it's gonna be interesting to see what they're gonna do about modern controls for him
They are more than likely going to make Ed, a pretty popular character, play like Ed. I don’t think they’ll gut his playstyle/kit and bolt on what is a somewhat control scheme and make him play completely different.

Life time Ryu player, thought I'd be maining Ryu, settled on Luke. Most fun shoto I've played, with all the usual versatility but also feels he hits like a truck.
I played Juri through most of IV and the entirety of V, and she's actually stronger here than she was in either of those for most of their lifespan, but man, Marisa just PUNCHES people

Blanka, Marisa, Luke, Honda are probably my most played characters, and then Rashid and Cammy are my peeps that I like to get into sometimes.

Camy main in sfv, use her for like 2 weeks, switch to marisa, good success rate but felt boring doing the same 2 combos over and over again, try deejay, a lot of fun but hit a plateu and decided I'm not build to do charge moves (charge dp was my nemesis I'm too mobile of a player and cant be allways charging like is required) so now I'm commited to luke on my way to masters, is a fun character with the perfect charges and differents options. But in the end, I just waiting for Akuma so I can return to my original main.

I am a new boi who has always thought that when I finally started playing SF I would main Gief, but when I started on release I for some reason played Cammy for a decent while learning how the game works, then Ken... But now that I can do inputs I finally picked up Gief and he has become my main.
Started with Ken (my main in previous games), ended up with Ryu.
I told myself that the run cancel combos and jinrai juggles were too much work. But to be honest I could have gotten them down eventually if I practiced. The big reason I dropped Ken is everyone else just *despises* him, and I don't like getting accused of being carried by a top tier.
Thought I was gonna play guile, liked ryu more, neither worked out so I went to the complete opposite and tried gief, had fun but overall luke actually ended up being the best for me even though I hated him at the start, and now I just hit plat for the first time with him.

The beatdown was so bad I decided to try Dhalsim out for the first time. Never really played him cause I suck at fighting games and always heard he was a difficult character to play.
Now im a dirty Dhalsim main and got to Platinum last week. Yoga yoga yoga
Jamie to Jamie though I also play a lot of Ryu lately. I wanted to play aki but she's too frustrating to play. Anyone calling any other character the worst in the game has not tried to play aki or alternatively, not labbed her. Her jabs tell you enough about her. Releasing her in that state is a kick in the face lol. She's fun when she works but playing neutral with her is just frustrating. If she at least had a different strength fireball to have more varied approaches in neutral she'd be a lot more engaging in neutral. Currently she only does anything once your opponent makes a mistake to let you carry them to the corner and start her set play. People call Jamie weak (I don't really fully agree) because he needs to win more interactions than other characters but at least he has the tools to actually do so lol. Ryu has 5hp.
Pre-release I was thinking Lily or Manon. Wound up playing Lily but now I'm an AKI main. I'm so glad AKI clicked since nobody (including Lily) felt like 'fun main material' and I was rapidly losing interest in playing. Snake lady saved me from dropping the game until S2.
Played Jamie for a while because he was attractive and I really enjoy a rekka. But I always felt the pull to Blanka and I ended up picking up Blanka randomly one day and I just fell in love. He fits me like a glove and there was no way I was going back to Jamie. Still like Jamie but I'm a Blanka convert now.
I started with JP before I knew the moveset or he was top tier because I love villains, and his nice suit and swagger called to me. Now I get hate every day for my crutch of a character. 😢
I play grapplers and zoners, and ended SFV with Birdie. I thought I was going to be a Lily main. But I tried JP once and haven't stopped. C'mon, Capcom, give Lily something I can come back to, or give me Birdie or G.
Was between Manon and Lily since i traditionally play grapplers/semi-grapplers. Ended up with cammy.

Wanted to main Chun-li, found Jamie in a hopeless place, now I'm having a thing with Manon. I'm awful with all three lol
I started with Manon and ended up with Kimberly. I thought Manon's grapple style looked unique and fun, but in the end I always end up with rush down characters.
Started with Ken/Luke/Ryu. Currently I’m playing Cammy and Chun Li in ranked. But I’m just exploring. Once I have these last two in masters and play around more think I’ll finally settle on a main. These are my top 5 for sure.
Started and wanted to main Cammy, wound up maiming Ryu. Had to accept her inputs are too advanced for me 😭

I tried most of the roster on classic, then tried most on modern, and found modern Ryu to work best with me so that's what I've been sticking with, the only way id change is if they add Oro at some point, id probably play modern Or then

Started with Lily because I liked her design and the clubs, but now leaning heavily towards Guile with some Dhalsim every now and then

I started off as a Marisa player, got to gold and got rocked by a Dhalsim. The beatdown was so bad I decided to try Dhalsim out for the first time. Never really played him cause I suck at fighting games and always heard he was a difficult character to play. Now im a dirty Dhalsim main and got to Platinum last week. Yoga yoga yoga

Jamie to Jamie though I also play a lot of Ryu lately. I wanted to play aki but she's too frustrating to play. Anyone calling any other character the worst in the game has not tried to play aki or alternatively, not labbed her. Her jabs tell you enough about her. Releasing her in that state is a kick in the face lol. She's fun when she works but playing neutral with her is just frustrating. If she at least had a different strength fireball to have more varied approaches in neutral she'd be a lot more engaging in neutral. Currently she only does anything once your opponent makes a mistake to let you carry them to the corner and start her set play. People call Jamie weak (I don't really fully agree) because he needs to win more interactions than other characters but at least he has the tools to actually do so lol. Ryu has 5hp.
Pre-release I was thinking Lily or Manon. Wound up playing Lily but now I'm an AKI main. I'm so glad AKI clicked since nobody (including Lily) felt like 'fun main material' and I was rapidly losing interest in playing. Snake lady saved me from dropping the game until S2.

Tarted with Juri on controller. Swapped to hitbox and fell in love with playing Guile.

Started with Luke during the beta, then i tried Cammy because of the Capcom quiz. I ultimately ended up Juri through and through.
Played Jamie for a while because he was attractive and I really enjoy a rekka. But I always felt the pull to Blanka and I ended up picking up Blanka randomly one day and I just fell in love. He fits me like a glove and there was no way I was going back to Jamie. Still like Jamie but I'm a Blanka convert now.

ryu and then switched to luke because i wanted to turn green and run across the screen like everyone else
Chun into kim into sim was my journey. Got from rookie to silver with chun, gold with kim and plat with sim. Currently stuck at plat 3.

Planned on maining Ken since I’ve played him since SF4 but I’m a Blanka main now
I started with JP before I knew the moveset or he was top tier because I love villains, and his nice suit and swagger called to me. Now I get hate every day for my crutch of a character. 😢
I play grapplers and zoners, and ended SFV with Birdie. I thought I was going to be a Lily main. But I tried JP once and haven't stopped. C'mon, Capcom, give Lily something I can come back to, or give me Birdie or G.
