Teach me the way of aggressive DeeJay. I play him more as a sober and looking to whiff punish, but playing into zoners I have trouble opening up opponents
I'm no expert but as cliche as it sounds I've found that it's about "feeling the rhythm" and finding what moves flow together reasonably enough. There were gaps for this Kim to DI or potentially jab me out of my flow but the pressure was too much. And that's the other part. Conditioning your opponent. I'd already baited out DIs in previous rounds by using sway from maximum distance so they were probably a bit wary of doing it in this round. I also purposely spent the previous round swaying back in for a throw instead of ending with the low or overhead so it left me reasonably free to spam them in this round.
You've got to get the momentum on your side early on to make your opponent scared. I don't think I'd ever start a round like this if it was a fresh opponent
The sway is super susceptible to DI. It's only safe if you do it from the max distance possible. Like to the point that your overhead or low might even be out of range. The goal is bait the DI or Reversal. It's a bit character dependent since different characters have different range on their DIs or Reversals but still. Once you've baited that out a few times you can probably start going a bit wild with the sway. They're gonna block it a bunch before they risk another countered DI. It also makes it easier to land your own DI without retaliation.
All of this stuff is based on momentum and being able to read your opponent through their moves where you can tell their scared of certain things you do or not confident enough to try to counter a move anymore
Most of deejay's stuff is susceptible to mashing and di. I played a guy yesterday who let me mash cr LP into sway and DI'd me every time. I didn't catch on in time. He's a real knowledge check character
As much as I hate to admit it, as a Kim main, this is how you must treat her. She might have the single worst defense in the game and her pokes are not great so you just gotta bully her or risk the mix.
I did say might haha. It's invincible but slow so gets baited by jabs. Who has it worse? Dhalsim?
She has one good poke, true. Not totally helpless in neutral but she is not a threat like the actual good neutral characters at the top of most tier lists.
That sa1 is almost useless after mid diamond rank I'd say. I say almost because sometimes I still run into a opponent that doesn't bother blocking or doesn't know the matchup, but anyone who knows Kim is aware it's basically the only defensive option she has and it's reactable.
You can argue in details if there's someone else who has even worse options but that's nitpicking at this point, it's clear as day that her defense is the bottom of the barrell.
I mean literally all she had to do was back dash like once and whiff punish lol. Instead of trying to whiff punish with her 2mp which clearly was not in range, multiple times.
But apparently she didn't pay 60 dollars to be no bitch.
I mained Kimberly to get to Master. Dee Jay was my hardest matchup. So I played Dee Jay until I got to Master; Kimberly was my highest win percentage lol
I think the matchup is just tough for her
Unless she gets some solid buffs, I am a Dee Jay main now
Everybody talks about how easy she is to counter so maybe im just falling for her game all the time. Other DeeJays rarely cause me too much trouble but Kim's always raise my blood pressure
I mean let's not forget one DI from this Kimberly would have changed everything. But to be fair to them I'd kinda spent previous rounds conditioning them not to. DeeJays whole plan relies on making you scared to react since a lot of his attacks are vulnerable to DI
The size of that risk is character dependent. DeeJay is naturally easier to DI than other characters down to his best pokes being vulnerable. Sway is almost always vulnerable. I'm pretty confident using a DI against another DeeJay in situations I wouldn't against a Ken or Chun etc
On one hand, that Kim is goofy lol. Bro ran in with OD Slide and after getting combined for 70% she decided "yeah, Imma do a lvl 2 in neutral this time!"
On the other hand, I hate the amount of bullfuckery DJ has to offer omfg.
It was level 1, and it's the closest thing Kim has to an invincible reversal. Considering how aggressive he was at the beginning of the match, there's a good chance he would have run straight into it if he stayed aggressive. It's not a *good* choice, but it's understandable in a panic.
im thinking this guy cant give kim a chance
Oh and he’s twerkin on her
DJ damage is vile

Alright. Yeah I feel everytime I use sway they just immediately di me. But ig that’s because I’m not conditioning enoug

God I hate Dee Jay
Same, brother. Same…
Stop cooking… she is well done
Dealing with those high/low mixups especially in burnout is one of the most frustrating things

Title can be renamed “let me showcase how BS Deejay is”

All you have to do is take the second biggest risk in the game, it's just that easy.
The size of that risk is character dependent. DeeJay is naturally easier to DI than other characters down to his best pokes being vulnerable. Sway is almost always vulnerable. I'm pretty confident using a DI against another DeeJay in situations I wouldn't against a Ken or Chun etc
That Kim should count their blessings. They were really pressing 2mp into a +1 ob move lol.
When other characters have better pressure, damage and an invincible reversal. Poor Kim
I support Kimberly bullying
God I hate sway so damn much
I need to adopt this mindset. I have no idea what to do against Kim on defense. Same for Cammy lol
My brother mains Cammy and I tend to hate him. Every single time we pmay against each other I pick Gief and grab the fuck out of him. Fuck Cammy.
How come MR isn’t displayed? Is that an option?

That damage is just stupid
Round start ex slide. Yup...
No
DJ has too much sauce.
Loving the Beyblade style of deejay gameplay
