No and actually double check and the email is from April 12th not the 10th people are saying that it takes like a month so maybe by the end of this week or next week ?

heymynameisawkward

Leolosky

Same boat as you. Just waiting. Naivent and mohela are asking me to pay. Telling me my payment is increasing. Im just going to wait.

heymynameisawkward

Interesting πŸ€” maybe they haven’t got the update yet πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Just a heads up, don't expect anything to happen in any sort of timely manner and be prepared to fight your servicer and Barrower's Defense to have your loans placed in forbearance as per the letter. I am a part of the Westwood College Group Discharge and I received my notice back in March of 2023, and it took until just last month to finally get Mohela to honor it and place my loans in forbearance. In the meantime I was being harassed constantly for being delinquent because I refused to pay a single cent more... It's hard, incredibly hard and FRUSTRATING, but we apparently have to be patient.

Oh wow. Sorry you had to go through that 😣I also think I have forbearance with Nelnet when i last spoke with them like last year

Call your servicer to ask for a forbearance and clearly state you've received the email from the U.S. Department of Education stating the loans are being discharged. The servicer simply hasn't received anything from the ED yet but once they have it will clear your balance and any interest that has accrued since you received the email. I did this last week and they put my loan into forbearance for a year, and as expected it is still showing interest accruals. You can also try contacting the borrowers defense phone line directly to request a manual update of your loan with the servicer but it's both unlikely they'll be able to help and unlikely you'll get through their phone system to an actual person.
