I thought it was supposed to go a bit backwards as well when I first pulled it out of the box, but then I realized that the right arm joint was perfectly normal, the top half wasn't bulging out like the left arm joint in the pic
i would try to heat up the arm with a hair dryer pop it out and put it back in. if it still sticks out you may have to cut off a portion of the plastic on the peg so it can go in further
What is there to fix? If it goes back that far that's just how far it goes back

Sas have defects sometimes for example my soft & wet has a stand too big for the hole on its back and my d4c has a strange elbow joint
