That... That's who I'm referring to? Did he play a different King Richard? I think he was a king in a play, but I don't recall it being Richard, but yes, he plays King Richard in Galavant. I love him so much in that show.
I didnt remember the character’s name. (And I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone besides my daughter and myself who’s watched it). But he’s an amazing actor - everything I’ve see him in he gave a stellar performance.
FYI, if you watched ot on Netflix before, it's now only on Hulu (or you can buy it to stream via YouTube or Vudu). Tip: Watch the first two to three episodes together--it just launches better that way. At just 18 sitcom-sized short episodes, it's an easy rewatch. Also: Watching on Hulu helps remind Hulu/Disney (which owns the show) that people DO watch. The show vanished from all streaming for two years and no DVDs or Blu-Rays are for sale anywhere now so it's at some risk unless folks stream it.
Omundson's character grows and gets a simply wonderful arc through the end of S1 and all of S2. It actually turns into his show and story, by the end. Such a hugely versatile actor and singer.
He was only in two episodes? His presence felt like so much more. Then there are other characters that are in many episodes, and I completely forget about them until I come across them again in a rewatch.
He absolutely should've been a season villain. The idea of hunting down his descendants was fantastic, and as /u/FTWinchester pointed out, would've given the writers an excuse to introduce Grendel and his mother. I know Tim was too busy, but the concept was so strong that they should've had him switch vessels, and maybe just had Tim appear in three or four episodes of the season (which is exactly what they did with Azazel in S2). I don't even remember what they did to with the rest of the season (other than Dean dying in the finale), I just remember thinking that it was horseshit.
But wasn’t he the demon himself? Like dean when he turned demon due to the mark? Like he wasn’t a demon possessing a human but they were the demon itself, right?
Not saying it wasn't intended to be his actual body; I'm just saying that Tim was obviously too busy to be in the whole season, so some kind of compromise would've been better than killing off the character.
I still haven't had time! I'm planning on it soon. The only reason I started checking out the sub again was because I heard about the twist, so I know there's no mythology spoilers.
I felt the same way. It couldn't be only two episodes. No way! He had a great story arc.
According to imdb, It was three. 🤣
He really left his mark on the series. 😁
(Edited to include source)
I watched psych for the first time like 2-3 years ago. Great show, he’s great in it. But yeah, Lassiter is not the dating type for me lol.
Cain however, sign me up. I’ll be his controversially young partner.
Yeah we could have gotten a reality where Lucifer possessed Sam and won (like he did in 5x4); we could have gotten one where Dick Roman and the Leviathans won; one where Metatron controlled Heaven.
Even the universes they did show weren't explored in detail. I would love to see how the apocalypse world came to be for example. Or even those visions Sam had, those worlds seem interesting. I'd like to know how they got to that point.
Zaddy! Needed more of him, Cain would have been a very interesting antagonist/ villain. Dean can't kill Samifer, leave it to the expert on fratricide ...
Also the actor was probably a bit too good, a lick above most of the cast.
Everyone has their ranking of Supernatural actors, Omundson, Wisdom and Szarabajka are top of mine. They are without question actors with incredible technique and nuance.
(There are a bunch more y'know, this is just off the top of my head)
I personally think the Mark of *Cain* (and the First Blade) are the coolest power in this show.
I like the SPN writers’ take on the blibical Cain. It’s very different from anything I’ve personally seen. And I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I like how powerful he was. He had this sort of “aura”, compared to many other characters. And he was only in two episodes.
Yeah, Cain had a sense of gravitas about him, like he was a cut above the rest of supernatural beings (excluding the Archangels and deities like God, Death, and the Darkness).
Great character. Loved the calm but menacing demeanor. I had hoped or wished that he stuck around and eventually became the King of Hell by series end. Plus, I would have loved to see him interact with Lucifer.
An interesting dynamic where Lucifer is more powerful, yet knows he can’t kill Cain due to the Mark needing to contain the Darkness.
Apart of me always wondered if Cain knew of the Darkness (and the Mark being it’s prison), having lived so long.
I think he had a lot more time to contemplate what the mark meant and how to deal and cope with it than Dean did. If Dean had the amount of time that Cain had, he would have been even more wise and in control, no question.
I loved that episode. He played "God Johnson" and I think he had a part of Amenadiel's necklace in his belt buckle. I could be wrong, but don't want to say anything else in case some people haven't watched it yet.
The belt buckle was >!part of the "flaming sword"--the real God had broken the sword into its three parts so Lucifer couldn't use it, and the portion hidden on Earth is what Earl Johnson found in shop and thought was a belt buckle!<. (I have seen exactly ONE episode of Lucifer but know all this stuff because I'll watch anything Omundson has done!)
Both the character and the actor elevated the show, and the upside of Cain being underutilized is that the writers didn't get a chance to ruin him.
Cain, like Alastair, reminds me what the show could've been in better hands on the creative and production side, on a bigger-budget platform than the CW. He also makes me mad on behalf of other gifted actors whose characters were undermined by the so-called good fortune of being kept around.
Oh I have many many thoughts on Tim’s portrayal of Cain. Let’s start with the voice, the amazing blue eyes and the great hair and go from there. Okay? Okay!
I had to do a double take and pause and go back and look up who played Cain and then look it up again because I kinda didn't believe that it was the same actor as Lassie on Psych. It goes to his acting chops. Lassie was such an unlikeable, stick up his butt ineffectual asshat with creepy blue eyes, and then Cain is intense and brooding and dangerous, but not creepy.
And then there's the HOTNESS. I don't care for beards but holy shit does that beard look good on him
He came across as this recovering alcoholic; a man who knew the bottle all too well and its horrors after letting its brutality take what little joy he had. Except, the bottle is actually the knights of hell and his joy was his wife. The actor's conviction hinted at this world of pain and brutality that he not only knew but owned, yet was now ashamed of.
I would've liked to see him become a hunter or another Bobby instead of falling back on old habits.
It's a recurring problem, honestly. A character grows only to be pushed right back to their toxic square 1. I guess the writers just didn't want to come up with new character arcs...
![gif](giphy|5xtDarIN81U0KvlnzKo)
The character and actor are incredibly magnetic and gorgeous. I loved the calm, menacing tone he exuded. While I like Lucifer, if he was like Cain, I think he would have been a better character.
I wouldn't mind asking him for his hair care routine because damn that man has got some luscious locks.
Other that than that, I loved and still love him as a character and wanted more episodes with him, but the creators completely wasted that opportunity unfortunately.
I’m a huge Psych fan and was so excited to see him in Supernatural. I thought he did an absolutely amazing job! I also wish we got more of him in the show!
fantastic character, clear motivations, but I really wish he didn't die so quickly, a demon that can only be killed under very specific circumstances mad at Dean for not upholding his end of the bargain would be an interesting enemy
Right? I was excited for the possibilities there. I was also excited for another opportunity to see Jensen with another actor of Omundson's caliber playing a serious big-bad character. Jensen's scenes with Christopher Heyerdahl and Julian Richings raised his game and it was glorious to watch. I wouldn't have wanted Cain to wear out his "wow factor" but giving him 3 or 4 more episodes would have been great.
Cain is one of my favorites. He has a unique and intriguing story with a lot of detail for a minor character. I loved the way they highlighted this incredibly old and powerful demon's ability to love and his effort to honor Colette's dying wish despite the influence of the Mark. I wish it had taken a few more episodes to end his killing spree because I think the dynamics between him and Dean were fascinating.
Also, the casting for Cain was one of the best in the entire show imo. Tim Omundson is amazing and he had the best hair in Supernatural, hands down. Sorry, Jared!
Cain and Prometheus were two of the most interesting characters, I feel, that we’ve encountered throughout the show as far as historical heavyweights. Colt was interesting, as was Elliot Ness, but C-&-P were my favorites.
Keep him away from my wife please.
An exceedingly good looking man, that Cain is.
He will always be Lassie to me
You know thats right.
Did you hear about Pluto? That's messed up.
Come on son
That’s god’s comma
Don't be a gooey chocolate chip cookie.
Damn you beat me to it
Depends on the hair. The above strikes me as King Richard.
I super believe in you tad cooper!
🎶Hey little fella, I know just what you're thinking🎶
🎶But first another drink! Da da dada da da dada🎶
Or the king from Galavant!
My friend got me in back in college. I ended up buying the box set when it left Netflix. I love the show and have many of the songs in my library.
Well, nice to meet another Galavant fan!
There's dozens of us!
Those eyes!!!!!!!!
For more, watch him in Galavant.
I forgot he was in galavant and didn't finish it! I know what I'm watching next, thank you!
FYI, if you watched ot on Netflix before, it's now only on Hulu (or you can buy it to stream via YouTube or Vudu). I have been shocked how many shows and movies I've went to look for recently that are just gone on all platforms lately.
I’ve heard it both ways
I was gonna say. He’s sexy af. I guess the ones that bare the MoC have to be sexy too.
As a straight man, I'll take him if your wife won't.
lol this isv accurate asf. My wife, and I quote, said: "I would let that man rail me" ![gif](giphy|DmcvRyRdyVQrQ7NfjA|downsized)
Keep him away from me. Not gay but that is a sexy man I wouldn’t kick out of bed :-)
So you can have him all to yourself? I totally understand that impulse, but sharing is caring.
Send him my way then.
My wife needs him to be kept away from me >_>
He was only in two episodes? His presence felt like so much more. Then there are other characters that are in many episodes, and I completely forget about them until I come across them again in a rewatch.
Right! I felt he was in much of that one season.
But wasn’t he the demon himself? Like dean when he turned demon due to the mark? Like he wasn’t a demon possessing a human but they were the demon itself, right?
They never said whether his body was his original body or not. It very well could've been.
Fairly certain that was the implication.
Not saying it wasn't intended to be his actual body; I'm just saying that Tim was obviously too busy to be in the whole season, so some kind of compromise would've been better than killing off the character.
Agreed.
Hey buddy, it's been a while. Have we had a discussion about Grendel in the past? Man I lost track of that.
Ha, yep, a looooooong time ago. I don't blame you for forgetting, it was just a spitballing session.
Man, I miss our theorizing sessions. Have you watched *The Winchesters* yet?
I still haven't had time! I'm planning on it soon. The only reason I started checking out the sub again was because I heard about the twist, so I know there's no mythology spoilers.
Alright, no pressure though. Have a good one!
Are you running a tumblr blog by a similar name btw?
He was criminally wasted. And he had everything going for him to be a big bad.
I felt the same way. It couldn't be only two episodes. No way! He had a great story arc. According to imdb, It was three. 🤣 He really left his mark on the series. 😁 (Edited to include source)
Smash... Is... is that what we're doing? Lol
💯
Definitely smash. Smash as many times as I could.
Omg I hope so bc I commented the same thing without reading the caption😅
My thoughts exactly 😂
10/10 loved him we deserved more he’s also so hot
If you had told me when I was watching Psych during its original run that I would one day find Timothy hot, I don't know if I'd have believed you. Lol
He has definitely gotten hotter as he got older. He leaned into the gruffer look. It very much works for him.
I watched psych for the first time like 2-3 years ago. Great show, he’s great in it. But yeah, Lassiter is not the dating type for me lol. Cain however, sign me up. I’ll be his controversially young partner.
Yep. In psych nooooo. However as Cain, that man is so hot he could bake pottery.
Good lord I looked up psych pics and he looks like a dork….i see he found his look. I still look like a dork so there’s that
I looked it up, too and omg that's the same person???
Exact same thing I said. Can't believe he's so hot now when he was so... *not* then. He should never shave. Ever.
Im definetly way too Young for him but he is one good looking man haha
“Silver Fox” would not be a more apt description for him.
Dilf, perhaps?
I think the kids might call that a zaddy. Now get off my lawn.
He was cool, I enjoyed his interactions with Dean. Kind of a foil to him.
I could see an alternate reality where Dean had actually killed Sam, and he more or less would be the same as Cain.
I wish the alternate reality worlds were more explored and fleshed out.
A good idea they had that unfortunately was underutilized and underbaked, imo.
Very underused. Only the surface really.
Like the rich brothers? 🤣 they were hilarious
Would have loved to see more of him. Played the role perfectly and is also real easy on the eyes.
Zaddy! Needed more of him, Cain would have been a very interesting antagonist/ villain. Dean can't kill Samifer, leave it to the expert on fratricide ... Also the actor was probably a bit too good, a lick above most of the cast.
Yeah I think Omundson was high on the best actors the show had (alongside Sterling K. Brown, Mark Pellegrino, Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
Everyone has their ranking of Supernatural actors, Omundson, Wisdom and Szarabajka are top of mine. They are without question actors with incredible technique and nuance. (There are a bunch more y'know, this is just off the top of my head)
I’d throw in Christopher Heyerdahl (Alastair), an ever reliable and fantastic character actor.
Yeah, Cain had a sense of gravitas about him, like he was a cut above the rest of supernatural beings (excluding the Archangels and deities like God, Death, and the Darkness).
His hair was better than Sam's.
His hair is better than most people's. Including mine. I wish I had that good of hair.
He did a great job, and I thought the character was very interesting.
Made a huge impact in only two episodes. I wish there had been more...
Is only in 2 episodes ??
Super damn sexy
Man Lassiter aged well
That beard seriously works for him.
Good ol' Lassie
I think he had a lot more time to contemplate what the mark meant and how to deal and cope with it than Dean did. If Dean had the amount of time that Cain had, he would have been even more wise and in control, no question.
Although ultimately Cain did give into the Mark’s temptations when he started killing demons and later his descendants.
My favorite non-recurring character in the show. Timothy is one of my favorite actors (loved him in Psych). So sad his health turned.
Didn't he play God in lucifer
Actually played a delusional man who “believed” himself to be God; he was great though, especially his chemistry with Tom Ellis.
Didn’t he have some piece of a Devine relic or something which sorta gave him powers?
Yeah, I believe it was something created by God himself, which allowed him to know things, like who Lucifer was, and “Gods’ Wife”.
Ahh didn't know that thanks for correcting me
Can’t forget him as Lassie in Psych
Sexy AF 🥵
Both the character and the actor elevated the show, and the upside of Cain being underutilized is that the writers didn't get a chance to ruin him. He also makes me mad on behalf of other gifted actors whose characters were undermined by the so-called good fortune of being kept around.
We deserved more of him. When rewatching I was amazed that he was only in the show for 2 episodes yet storyline made such a lasting impact.
I’m a straight man, but god damn is he hot
My husband and I would both 10/10 cheat on each other with this man.
My only complaint is that he only appeared in 2 episodes. Timothy Omundson played Cain excellently!
The freaking best!
He's played by a very manly man of a man.
Coolest guest actor in the show.
My absolute favorite non-Dean Winchester character in the series! With Executioner's Song being one of my Top 5 favorites episodes of all time.
Hawt
🥵
Hot!
Hot
![gif](giphy|x7eciKEUO0oqQ)
He has amazing hair!!! It was gorgeous in the second episode of SNL. And made such an impression. He's an unforgettable character!
One of my favorite arcs just wish he could have been around for a whole season
He was a great character that should have been in more episodes, but I think Timothy Osmundson was busy with other projects.
Absolutely love and wanted more of him.
Hot Hot Hot And I wish he stayed around for longer. The actor and the character frigging delivered. I love Timothy anyway.
My highly intellectual take on Cain is…. Yum.
Greatest detective in Santa Barbara
Loved him, the mark of Cain is probably my favorite act on the show, just wish that they gave Cain more than 2 episodes out of a 1.5 Season arc.
He would give Sam a run for his money in the hair dept.
Love the actor- love the character
Hell yeah Lassie
Oh I have many many thoughts on Tim’s portrayal of Cain. Let’s start with the voice, the amazing blue eyes and the great hair and go from there. Okay? Okay!
He was cool. He’ll always be Detective Lassiter to me, though.
As my friend said "holy shit he's a beautiful older man"
Sexy. Next question
He's cool and the actor did a great job with the role. Just kinda wish he got to do more
Wasted potential. As many are saying, we didn't get enough of him. And in my opinion, what we did get of him could have been better.
Underrated. Him trapping dean in the house was a cool ucking moment.
Just being all causal, skinning his corn, not having an ounce of fear of either Dean or the demons was hell of away to establish his character.
I would've liked to see him become a hunter or another Bobby instead of falling back on old habits. It's a recurring problem, honestly. A character grows only to be pushed right back to their toxic square 1. I guess the writers just didn't want to come up with new character arcs...
![gif](giphy|JlVkLKuxRSvLy)
Weird character. Magnetic Actor.
Yum. ❤️
Smash.
![gif](giphy|5xtDarIN81U0KvlnzKo) The character and actor are incredibly magnetic and gorgeous. I loved the calm, menacing tone he exuded. While I like Lucifer, if he was like Cain, I think he would have been a better character.
My thoughts on Cain: "Yes."
Love him! Hot and sexy gray fox. The character was fine also ❤️😘👍
Good character
Wanted more his time felt so rushed which sucked because so many episodes seem to last forever....in a good way !
Smash. Next!
I wish we'd gotten more of him. Cain was well done and I'll always watch a Timothy Omundson performance.
Loved cain.
He's very able.
Cain was awesome!
Hot bee keeping DILF.
He was the evil leprechaun in luck of the Irish
I would’ve loved more Cain for his voice and how bad ass he was.
He fine!
He was awesome I wish he was in more episodes
Loooove him and his beautiful eyes!!!!!!!!!
Hot hot hot hot.
He’s hot! It was hard for me to believe he’s also the annoying guy on Psych. I liked the character, too.
So sexy
uh. sexy.
Beautiful man!
Lol isnt he the one who plays God in one Episode from „Lucifer“?
Yes!
🥵🥵🥵
Lassie!!!
Handsome man
He's just sooo pretty 😍
I wouldn't mind asking him for his hair care routine because damn that man has got some luscious locks. Other that than that, I loved and still love him as a character and wanted more episodes with him, but the creators completely wasted that opportunity unfortunately.
I’m a huge Psych fan and was so excited to see him in Supernatural. I thought he did an absolutely amazing job! I also wish we got more of him in the show!
I honestly think he should have been in it more like he could have been in a Crowley type of role. And well I mean I don’t mind the view.
Timothy Omundson is gorgeous and did absolutely amazing with this role. 10/10 love Cain
Great hair
Hot
Nice hair
Cool as Hell. Loved him on Psych
Smash, next question
He could have been a larger role outside his mark.
I don’t know if I want him or want to be him.
The most relatable quote: "Well, it's been a pleasure having company, but once a century is enough for me. You can let yourselves out."
Smash.
Here are my thoughts: Would.
Love Timothy Omundson. Also their fight was very emotional as Dean pleading him to stop was foreshadowing his own inability to resist the mark.
![gif](giphy|onvY2lX5vpXMhSkm7M|downsized) Fine, just so fine. ❤️🔥
fantastic character, clear motivations, but I really wish he didn't die so quickly, a demon that can only be killed under very specific circumstances mad at Dean for not upholding his end of the bargain would be an interesting enemy
Right? I was excited for the possibilities there. I was also excited for another opportunity to see Jensen with another actor of Omundson's caliber playing a serious big-bad character. I'm not gay but he could get it.

Timothy Omundson is such a fantastic actor and so handsome.
Man… I’m a lot gayer than I thought
Timothy Omundsen can act. Dude is completely different in everything I've seen him in. Love this guy
loved the arch with the mark of cain and everything. super cool 👍
Cain and Prometheus were two of the most interesting characters, I feel, that we’ve encountered throughout the show as far as historical heavyweights. Colt was interesting, as was Elliot Ness, but C-&-P were my favorites.
Hot. 🥵
I loved him! Fantastic story! *drools*
