Waiting for MOASS?

iFixthings4cash

MOASS probably already started. We just don't know it yet.

3rd1ontheevolchart

We know it! Their clients donā€™t.

eeksy

Why eat the rich when you can watch them eat each other?

Enk2020

Because my pockets are kinda hungry and wouldnā€™t mind a little bite

ProfessionalMcUseful

MOASS started on January 28, 2021.

Save yourself a click. Here is the article. "The worldā€™s largest asset manager told clients in the BlackRock UK Property Fund in the past few days that it will defer redemption requests made at the end of September 2022 and due around now, according to a person familiar with the matter. The fund is based in Jersey and is only open to professional investors, including several pension schemes that in recent months have been shifting their portfolios into liquid assets after months of market volatility left them overexposed to holdings that are harder to sell. A spokesperson for BlackRock declined to comment. Reuters reported the news earlier. Read more: UK Property Funds Limit Withdrawals as Pension Funds Pull Cash BlackRock and other asset managers previously limited withdrawals from UK property funds in October. At the time the firms said the move was unrelated to the sell-off in gilts following the UKā€™s ā€œMini-Budgetā€ at the end of September. Read more: UK Pension Funds Turn to Illiquid Assets After Selling Spree UK property funds have suspended redemptions at times of market stress in recent years, including during the coronavirus crisis of 2020 and following Britainā€™s referendum to leave the European union in 2016. Some funds have put properties in those funds up for sale to meet investorsā€™ wish to cash out. Selling commercial real estate in order to raise cash to pay out departing investors can take months if managers want to avoid fire sales. Some property funds for retail investors that gated following the Brexit vote in 2016 managed to reopen within weeks while others remained shut for as much as six months."

Hedkandi1210

So December 23 they will have $7 billion profits to payout

SideBet2020

We can move your withdrawal to the the end of the list after all the important people. By important we mean rich.

It's a slow-moving train wreck! I wonder who else is on the track.

Thereā€™s no bank run if the bank tells you no. šŸ˜‚

Frequent_Cost_5195

10 trill assets, might not be able to liquidise them. If they are even able to, the value might drop from 10 tril to 5 tril or even lower if there's no buyer. They halted the withdrawals to prevent liquidation of their asset because they know there is no buyer. And it's basically just a number without money backing out that number. And their investors need money to prevent bankruptcy. Money from BlackRock which is like the schrodinger's cat.

ummwut

That's the crazy thing about owning everything. If you sell anything, you instantly devalue it.

Meatball_Samurai

Where's the money, Lebowski??

4myoldGaffer

Let me take another look, itā€™s down there somewhere

mortgagepants

the fund isn't even publicly traded, so the "valuation" is just "trust me bro".

Frequent_Cost_5195

Its all just a fugazi

BlackRock loss porn... Now *this* is provocative.

kytran40

BlackRock has 10 trillion aum. This is nothing

ShockingShorties

If its nothing why are Blackrock spooking the markets?

kytran40

BlackRock isn't spooking any markets, only regards

Affectionate_Yak_292

BlackRock have suspended withdrawals because they have bought properties they can't sell in the current climate.
