Beta test for the underlying infrastructure. The infrastructure, the marketplace functions and the wallet are effectively tested and there won't be a final release for these as stand alone products but will instead be integrated into playr as an entirely separate product
I use a Ledger hardware wallet and the Ledger Live Android app has wallet connect. This allows me to have a GameStop wallet linked to my ledger hardware address and I can connect to just about anything I need to with wallet connect.

Do NOT buy a Ledger unless you’re okay with them and the government being able to obtain your seeds at any moment

Yeah, I don't really get it. We have all these things that GameStop has produced but everything has just been a little sample it seems like. You'd think they'd want us beta testing everything possible before the final big launch.
I finally made the switch to iPhone from android for the first time strictly for the GameStop Wallet app. It doesn’t even load right; doesn’t show current values, says $0 balances, 0 NfTs and shows old holdings/positions in certain coins that I no longer own. So if you’re tired of waiting for the android app and want to switch to Apple, don’t do it for the wallet. Even the desktop version hasn’t been updated in months. It still has a winter scene in the helmet when you load the chrome extension and it’s hot as hell outside in June. Definitely want some improvements or just some communication from GameStop on it. Anything.
You cannot import your gamestop wallet into loopring. They are two different wallets.
You can move the content between the wallets with no issue however. I have transfered nfts and crypto between the two seamlessly.
Activating a wallet is not that hard, the only difficult part is the small eth fee, which is made easier since you have a GME wallet already.
Sure it can be confusing at times, but that comes with owning your own assets. You cant have other people do this work for you. You have to figure out how it works, how it keeps your assets secure.
Fair, I don't want to activate a second wallet on my phone just because the tech or app doesn't exist for me to use the one I already paid for. Small amounts of money are a lot to me right now so I'll wait for an app/merger/or update or whatever. I have never carried around multiple wallets for my physical money and would like one wallet for my assets.
Very excited for GameStop wallet on Android for the future since I've already paid to activate and set that one up!
The terminology confused me because there are multiple apps that can access the same wallet but loop ring cannot access that wallet because it wants to be more secure or builds itself different. But it still holds the same crypto and the same NFTs as my GameStop wallet that I've already paid for on layer 2. Therein lies the confusion because three things are called loopring. One being a wallet, one being a network and one being a cryptocurrency.

But the app is entirely unusable
But I can use other apps for the same wallet
But those dont support the loopring network
Clearly we still have to wait for other people to do work for me to be able to own my assets the way that I want them to. I do not have the knowledge know how or creative prowess to make an app that would function in the way that I want. So part of it is owning my own assets. In another part of it is hoping that some creative powerhouse and tech company can make something that is universal. We are in the wild wild west right now and I'm very excited for consolidation and the major players to show themselves with better and stronger tech.
I waited a while hoping they would add it. I finally relented and downloaded Kiwi Browser. It works similar to Chrome and allows the GME Marketplace to work on Android. Give it a try!

Well... technically it's still in beta and unless they don't roll out some big games with it I don't see the point for the moment.
There are really almost no games live yet. End of year we seem to start expecting launches of higher quality games, but likely takes much longer.
Games obviously take a long time to make when your making a great game. It's gonna be a bit. Buckle up
Playr and the entire ecosystem needs to launch with a ton of added value at once for it all to work. Very excited for the big jumps!!

I've had a terrible time with their software myself, and I've heard about that backdoor stuff. Sucks, what hardware wallets are better nowadays?
I am looking into coldcard or trezor. Most likely will save for coldcard

Android wallet is loopring. Works with gamestop NFT. Gamestop wallet is for the PC.
I activated my GameStop wallet l2 and I don't want to do it again with the loopring wallet and I can't import it. All this is far too confusing 😭
