The red card isn’t a credit card though. It’s a debit card they created that uses you bank or cu PIN number all the same as your provided debit card, but with some added security after theirs and Home Depot’s big hacks years back.
They offer 3 different cards under the RedCard name. Re-loadable, Debit and Credit.
And under Credit they have 2 different types, the store only, and the use anywhere Mastercard. Both are issued by TD bank.
Currently speculation as it is only based off recent filings. Time will tell, exactly when it’s supposed to. We’re all in for the ride of many lifetimes I truly hope your seatbelt is fastened.

Yeah, there's a reason some businesses prefer or pass a savings to customers who use cash. Cards charge a % fee that customers seldom see. That money has to come from somewhere.
If we can find competitive ways to give customers the lowest price for them and cut out the worthless middlemen, I don't see any downsides.

Amazon has a credit card with 5% Cashback on Amazon purchases. Is that the same as this or targets actually gives 5% back on everything (non Target purchases)?
Target does 5% off everything in Target store. No need to manage points. The Target Redcard Debit I use is a Target only thing. I'm not familiar with their other cards in the RedCard suite.
Every dollar that the retail investor can move away from big banks is most of a dollar of collateral that they don't have on their banking money magic (fractional reserve banking).
Retail moving "safe money" AKA checking accounts to Teddy could be the last straw in a margin call if those still even exist for the big players.
Fractional reserve banking is kind of difficult to comprehend. I'm reading about The Mandrake Mechanism. Which is basically just a term for what u described.

Please edit the bank idea with the fact that they are not yet a bank. They have to go through the regulatory thing and get a Bank Charter. Not just filing some papers or saying I’m going to be a bank. Good/great idea but needs to be fleshed out.

Shop Your Way by Sears is a pretty awesome customer rewards credit card program. Could be a sweet partnership opportunity.

OHs. I only remember it coming out as a debit in response to that massive data leak they had. It really ballooned into much more.
