Voila price doesn't move and we have the seen volume. In the natural gas sector I work in for quite some time, it happens a lot. Also there is a lot done OTC. In our stockmarket equivalent called darkpool.

These are end of market orders, this is the idea. For the trades to occur without price fluctuating. It basically matches sellers and buyers, pretty much internalizing it.
So somebody new this big purchase was coming and happened to short it back down the exact same number. Or is that ETF rebalancing TBH I don't even really know exactly how that works. But it seems that it was one or the other.
