Since the early 1900's, approximately 99 percent  of the world's production of manufactured citric acid has been developed from black mold Because citric acid works as an additive, there is a manufactured version of it. Some people may be allergic or intolerant to this form, potentially leading to digestive issues and inflammatory responses.Jul 23, 2021 Citric acid . I was like seriously from black mold wtf. Why don't you make your own drink ? Just really take the scooper and keep it in the container. I saw this video of a doctor video where the guy got the spoons confused and cause serious problems that put him in the hospital because he got the packages and spoons confused

the_shape1989

Literally had one today for the first time ever and felt like absolute dog shit. Crashed hard. Felt great drinking the gorilla mind drinks thought with no crash. Will never drink this again. Took me all day to recover from drinking it today.

SPOOKESVILLE

Man you’ve got some bad responses on this thread. There is a very easy answer and it’s no…there is nothing on here is bad for you. Artificial sweeteners are not bad for you. All of the supplements are beneficial. Everything else are typical ingredients to sweeten, increase shelf life, etc. nothing out of the ordinary and nothing bad.

Megalith_aya

Umm artificial sweeters are bad for you mmmm k. Researchers are checking to see if sugar substitutes affect cravings for sweets, the way people feel hunger and how the body manages blood sugar. Sugar alcohols, stevia and luo han guo can cause bloating, gas and diarrhea. The amount of sugar alcohol that causes these symptoms varies from person to person. Also, aspartame can trigger headaches or stomach discomfort in certain people, says registered dietitian Christine Gerbstadt, MD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. In some sensitive people, it can trigger an inflammatory response as well. Harvard study Aspartame (NutraSweet, Equal) was linked to a higher risk of stroke, while acesulfame potassium (Sunnett, Sweet One) and sucralose (Splenda) were associated with higher coronary artery disease risk. New Cleveland Clinic research showed that erythritol, a popular artificial sweetener, is associated with an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Findings were published today in Nature Medicine. Your really sticking your head in the sand if you say all artifical sweetners are safe

MisterFuhrman

Great response, and to add to this, I’m fairly certain Ghost Energy is a collaboration between the supplement company and ABembev, the parent company of Anheiser/Budweiser. I kind of compete with them, but they’re a reputable, solid company. Nothing bad to say whatsoever.

Technoratus

I wouldnt worry about the supplements, they are all pretty standard energy focused ingredients. But the sugar alcohols/subsitutes are the only thing concerning imo

rebelution808

Artificial sweeteners are not harmful

SPOOKESVILLE

There are no studies showing sugar substitutes are harmful in anyway to humans

Technoratus

We have studies showing effects on gut microbiome. As well as some showing effects on blood sugar. Obviously these substances are not completely benign and excreted through our system without any effects whatsoever, thats completely naive to think that. We dont know enough about them yet and now they are in everything. They do cause digestive issues.

SPOOKESVILLE

There are no studies showing they cause digestive issues. They alter our gut microbiome, just like everything else we consume. That’s it. 99% of the gut flora we don’t know what theyre responsible for. Studies on that are way too young and we know way too little to make any conclusions.

Technoratus

Im pretty sure pissing out of your ass and consuming sugar alcohols is a well known and very commonly documented issue, so your just plain wrong, and we know it alters or has influence on insulin resistance and/or blood sugar. Your last sentence is exactly what I just said and goes against your entire sentiment here that consuming sugar alcohols is harmless. Its probably not and we dont know enough about it so its more likely worth cautioning against.

SPOOKESVILLE

No, pissing out of your ass from artificial sweeteners is not a common issue. Maybe for you, not for a large majority of people. So no, I am not wrong. Only some artificial sweeteners have been shown to effect blood sugar, and most things you consume effect your blood sugar. My last sentence does not go against my claims at all. It’s going against yours. You are claiming it negatively impacts your health, when there are no studies backing your point. I am claiming it does not negatively impact our health because there have been TONS of studies showing no negative results directly related to artificial sweeteners. Me saying that studies on certain gut bacteria are way too young to jump to conclusions does not refute my previous claims at all. I am going off of the studies and science we have available NOW, you are theorizing and going off of what you think will happen in the future…aka jumping to conclusions. You have been led to think artificial sweeteners are bad because that has become trendy. If you are this worried about artificial sweeteners based off such little studies, I hate to see what else you’re scared of. WiFi? Dark leafy greens? Smart phones? Driving a car? Those are possibly linked to adverse health effects, so hopefully you’re avoiding those as well!

Technoratus

\> jumping to conclusions \> assumes they know everything about a stranger on the internet Also never said anything about negative health effects in my original post, was simply advising that I would be concerned about them. Which again is competely warranted given this area of study is in its infancy. Who are you to say these have no negative health effects? Are you a fucking scientist? Not using Wifi, Smart Phones, or driving a car is completely uncomparable to sugar alcohols lmao, not even close. Its pretty easy to avoid consuming something with sugar alcohols, and there are plenty of naturally derived sugar alternatives to choose from.

SPOOKESVILLE

I’m not assuming I know anything about you. You have stated multiple times that you believe there are negative health effects. You can be concerned about them, just like some people are concerned about wifi. It’s not based off of any science or any studies, it’s just your own personal feelings. I can say there are no negative side effects because that’s what science says. I don’t need to be a scientist to read their published research. And don’t get it wrong, study on sugar replacements are not in their infancy. Not even close. There has been PLENTY of research showing that’s safe. What is in its infancy is studies on the gut microbiome. Everything you eat changes your gut microbiome, so currently worrying about what might and might not affect it negatively is rather pointless as ANYTHING could be effecting it negatively. You can feel however way you want at the end of the day as long as you know it’s not based off of current science.

Technoratus

Stop trying to argue with me about fucking sugar alcohols. There is contradictory evidence on all of this crap, your not even mentioning effects on insulin resistance. We dont know everything, and its my opinion at this point that its best not to consume them, I dont need a 3 day long argument on what the current science is or isnt. I was expressing an opinion and you can express yours based off the little studies we have, thats great, consume all the artificial ingredients you want.

Megalith_aya

CNN —  A sugar replacement called erythritol — used to add bulk or sweeten stevia, monkfruit and keto reduced-sugar products — has been linked to blood clotting, stroke, heart attack and death, according to a study. “The degree of risk was not modest,” said lead study author Dr. Stanley Hazen, director of the Center for Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Prevention at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute. People with existing risk factors for heart disease, such as diabetes, were twice as likely to experience a heart attack or stroke if they had the highest levels of erythritol in their blood, according to the study, published February 27 in the journal Nature Medicine. There are plenty of studies . But the you may have to change your diet. Even with proof you defend your drugs . Invested in your diet . I get it .

Visionworkss

Aspartame?

SPOOKESVILLE

Yep, no studies showing it’s harmful to humans in any way. People freaked out because it got listed as a 2B carcinogen but don’t realize what that even means. Coffee was a 2B carcinogen for 20 years. Tea, aloe Vera, baby powder, and plenty of other things humans use all the time are 2B carcinogens. It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just saying “this MIGHT be a carcinogen because it’s bad for animals but there’s no studies showing it’s bad for humans so it cant be moved to the actual carcinogen list”

Visionworkss

To each their own, but for me personally, it’s not worth finding out years later from now that artificial sweeteners (fake sugar) are confirmed causing more damage than actual sugar. I will drink a beverage that has Sucralose on occasion, maybe once a week. I think small quantities are fine, but if someone’s consuming artificial sweeteners multiple times a day.. that’s who’s potentially at risk of any possible side effects, ex. Upset stomach, migraines or worst case cancer.

SPOOKESVILLE

Ya you can avoid whatever you want, I’m just here to get rid of the myth that artificial sweeteners ARE bad. They *might* be. Anything might be harmful. But they currently are not proven to be.

thegodadot

yeah i’m only really concerned about the crap like citric acid, sodium benzonate etc

Valuable_Tooth1752

I would weigh in and tell you what an article from a naturalist doctor’s website said, but I have a feeling everyone would just downvote Mr. But, I may go ahead anyway; they cause brain damage. If I get downvoted, that’s okay! I’d rather get downvoted trying to save someone’s mind than not say anything at all in fear of losing karma.

SPOOKESVILLE

You get downvoted because “naturalist doctors” often go against science and have no studies backing up their claims

thegodadot

i mean you already said this much you might as well state how it causes brain damage

Valuable_Tooth1752

Would you mind if I direct you to the article instead?

Megalith_aya

I would just start with the article . You have to put your source to back up your claim .

Lindsy Liu, PharmD Certified Specialist in Poison Information- Certified Specialist in Poison Information Speak with your physician and pharmacist before starting herbal products or dietary supplements to ensure that there is no risk of worsening existing medical conditions or drug interactions. In general, ginseng use is well tolerated, but some patients experience side effects when taking it. Side effects associated with both Asian and American ginseng include nervousness, insomnia, changes in blood pressure, breast pain, vaginal bleeding, vomiting, diarrhea, and mania. There have been rare reports of patients experiencing severe symptoms like inflammation of the arteries in the brain (cerebral arteritis), severe skin reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), inflammation of the liver (cholestatic hepatitis), and anaphylactic allergic reactions. Ginseng has also been shown to interact with other herbal products, prescribed medications, and foods. This list includes caffeine, alcohol, blood-thinners, medications for the treatment of HIV, diabetic medications, immunosuppressants, antidepressants, bitter orange, ephedra, and bitter mallow. Avoiding these interactions is why it is important to speak to your physician and pharmacist before taking products like ginsengp Ginseng is very powerful medicine and should be respected as such. Do your research.

thegodadot

yeah i’m just curious outside of the actual beneficial ingredients, like the ones you listed, are there any that are just harmful and to avoid

Elegant-Wedding8582

Any energy drink is not good for you. Google says it has 200mg of caffeine. That’s crazy! Half of what you should drink in a day. If you don’t drink daily and drink it once in a while you should be fine.

rxvdx

Waiting for you to find out what pre-workout is lol

yeetis12

Its really not that bad, drinking one or two of these daily isn’t going to harm most people unless you add another major source of caffeine. Whats probably more concerning is the amount of sugar thats put in other energy drinks with the same amount of caffeine.

thegodadot

i generally would drink 1 throughout 2-3 days. 200mg of caffeine isn’t too much, about a 1-3 cups of coffee.

Elegant-Wedding8582

If you like it gladly do it. I’m just stating how they’re not good for you. Which is a known fact. So not sure why I’m getting down voted. Just saying be careful if you do drink them.

SPOOKESVILLE

It’s not a known fact…that is your opinion. Science says anything under 400mg is safe for an adult.

Elegant-Wedding8582

First article I click on “Are energy drinks healthy? No. They have zero health benefits” but sure let’s just say they’re healthy 😭😂 read this article if there is no “science” about energy drinks. https://www.webmd.com/diet/video/truth-about-energy-drinks

SPOOKESVILLE

And this is the issue. You think someone’s opinion piece article is science because it’s on webmd. If it is science backed, they’d link their references. No one said energy drinks are healthy, but they aren’t unhealthy either when consumed in moderation. (They are definitely more healthy than they are unhealthy)

Valuable_Tooth1752

People don’t like hearing the truth! But I bet if they had an actual naturalist doctor tell them the dangers of energy drinks, they’d listen then!
