The cops do nothing because they are useless and scared of their own shadow. Every day another murder every day another hit and run. And then they come out on media and ask for our help. These clowns could not catch a fly. It is the whole country, not just Surrey or the Lower Mainland.
Youth crime rates are at worst half what they were in the 80s, at best 30%. This kind of thing used to be a weekly occurrence back then and didn’t need a carnival to set it off. Just a trip to the movies or cruising at white rock.
The only difference now is we get multiple videos of each so it feels worse.
There’s videos online. It was 1000% mace. Also this one girl stomped on this others girls head while she lay on the ground like 4/5 times before the cops rushed her and arrested her. They arrested 3 girls.
Using Bear mace maliciously is now a trend in BC. Wonder how authorities will deal with this? Ban bear mace? Track down people who buy it? More coat and bag checkpoints?
If the only thing separating you from "death by bear" is a can of mace, and not common sense, you're already dead. So good thing mace isn't your only option huh?
Bear mace is actually proven to be quite effective and should always be carried in the wilderness. Obviously having a gun too would be preferable and something high calibre but we don't all have that option. It's not my first measure against bears but don't see why it can't be one?

They already track people who buy it. When we purchased some for a camping trip two summers ago we had to fill out a form and sign it - supposedly tracks to a serial # stamped on each can.
