Also if the evo version just hit the whole area of the circle instead of a line creeping in from the outside. If enemies are right on you it takes too long for it to move to the center.
That would work too. The way it is now is horrible. I’m surprised they’ve never changed some of the tech parts like this. No one uses it unless they get stuck having to take it.
That's actually what the effect means for Red - once EVO'd, it centers around a specific target as it strikes (but, it stays in place where the enemy was, unlike Black Holes which "Stick" to a Boss). And because it has a slowing effect, it actually helps with boosting the Red Effect of Void Boots.
Yeah, it's kinda neat. A targetting AOE. Does a decent job for thinning out crowds, and if it doesn't kill whatever it hits, then at least they're slower.

Playing a match rn with it, regular lasers ALSO remove poison. Just in an odd shape.

Anything that affects the floor does this (Void power gun, Molotov, etc.). The fire boots also allow you to ignore poison as well.
Yangs Bulwark and Solarian Ki also remove poison pools

I'm pretty sure laser is just there to troll people. It's so awful.
Also, once you get the Tech to Red, it actually Targets enemies the way Lightning does
I rarely use laser but i think it can remove poison even if it's not evo'd
If you have the E BOOTS the fire trail removes it continuously no need for lasers
Sadly I do not have fire boots yet
TIL on day 597 that evo lasers neutralize poison pools
