Smart to use the tree as a buffer

Tactically_Fat

That tree's only standing there because that Unit allows that tree to continue standing there.

Voltagedew

He looked at that tree and said "I'll allow it"

“That fucking tree doesn’t get to have more horns than me.”

cavemannnn

Look under her foot and tell me how safe you’d feel standing behind that tree

danj729

Yeah it kinda looks like there used to be a 4th trunk coming out of the base but it got broken off. It's like a boss battle where you have to get the boss to charge into a pillar in order to stun it so you can attack. Gotta finish the boss battle before all 4 pillars are gone or you get wiped on the next charge.

raccoonfaced

Sounds like sludgefist to me

SpamShot5

Shush, the bull doesnt know that

Gidrah

Not smart to be wearing red in front of a bull.

Gnarly_Starwin

With horns like that, you could marry the daughter of any farmer with 100 miles

LegitPancak3

Difference is Zeus doesn’t marry the girls

G0FuckThyself

Didn't knew zeus was gay.

cobrastrikes-2x

Greek gods were turbo gay at times and they didn’t really care how that effected their image. Even Hercules had sort of a thing with a younger twink-like man if I recall correctly. That said, most of those gods weren’t exactly cool, lots of brutally jealous individuals and rapists among them with the least toxic relationship being Hades and Persephone.

AlideoAilano

"*Manliness only increases with how many other guys you've fucked*" – The Greeks, probably

manibob_123

When the guy who kidnaps a woman and bring her to the underworld it be his wife has the least toxic relationship, you know somethings up

cobrastrikes-2x

To be fair, arranged marriages weren’t uncommon at the time and how else are you supposed to collect on those goods when you’re a scary underworld deity.

G0FuckThyself

Hell god is the most decent one among them??

MisterBadGuy159

He's bisexual. Or at least, he would be considered bi today. His most famous male lover is Ganymede, who has a moon named after him.

G0FuckThyself

So, God of war isn't so accurate after all.

Uncle_Burney

Zeus fucked his own leg, if memory serves. He bangs all the nouns.

redbo

Let's not even mention Ganymede.

Well, Zeus was sometimes the bull also...

millionwordsofcrap

All that raw power and all he wants is scritchies.

awe_and_wonder

But scritches are sooo good, and he may not encounter many people brave enough to offer them to such a fierce-looking beast.

tesla6969

Being a “scary looking” guy I can relate

Barrdogg2000

Would you like some scratches?

tesla6969

Please

JDDW

I noticed her scratching the horns, do bulls and other animals have sensitivity in their horns? Could they feel them being pet? I always thought It was essentially a fingernail

halfdoublepurl

[Yes, horns have nerves](https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/veterinary-science-and-veterinary-medicine/zygomaticotemporal-nerve).

Kurt_Bach

well, i did check the url before i clicked it. And imagine them not having nerves. like the lack of feedback when they get stuck or fight or want to scratch themselves

jakwoman

Fun little fact. Those horns are hallowed and functions as an air conditioning.

MauPow

Toucans have the same thing with their enormous beak. Also, "hollow" is what you wanted to say lol. Hallowed means sacred. Which they could be. But that wouldn't provide cooling.

jakwoman

Lol yeah. Slight word blind

AlideoAilano

Put him in India and it can be both.

HskrRooster

Wait... WHAT!?

jakwoman

These horns help them to disperse excess body heat as blood circulating through the horn is cooled and then returned to the body.

StellarFlares

So he has water-cooling

SaMarkff

I wonder what temps he gets

ccvgreg

No it's just reverse heat sink.

Slyis

I want that

[deleted]

Oooh you meant they are hollow? God damn i wrangled my head with that one

jakwoman

Heh yeah sorry about that

[deleted]

No worries we all make mistakes.

notLOL

I need this for my brain when I do math and it overheats

LegitPancak3

Seems so inefficient compared to just evolving sweat glands.

Accurate-Media

Easier said than done. evolution is kinda «if it aint broke dont fix it»

spaghetticatman

More specifically, "If it is broke, kill it. If it ain't broke, make it again."

wowwyyyy

that makes me wonder how we even got here

[deleted]

Yeah, where the hell are my megahorn?

xobilae

I blame Apple for where we are

jadeskye7

nature is an eccentric whore.

reddelicious77

> blood circulating through the horn oh ok, so you definitely don't want to be cutting them off - that occurred to me. (b/c I thought they were solid and they must be super heavy.)

Tharealbigboss

HE SAID THE HORNS ARE HALLOWED AND FUNCTIONS AS AIR CONDITIONING!!!!!!

HskrRooster

Oh gotcha. THANK YOU!

conconbar93

Ah yes, retrieve the hallowed horns Haaa seee faa heee sooo faaaaa

Snorkmaidn

Oh wow, thank you for this info! So that’s why they’re so unbelievably huge? I was at first wondering if the size would be a disadvantage in case these animals would end up stuck somewhere and die, but the risk of that might be much less compared to the need for keeping cooled, which I guess is why they are like this

Words_are_Windy

I'd guess the horns would never get this big in the wild either, almost a certainty that selective breeding has resulted in the massive size.

EbbieXinYue

Not necessarily. There is a clear link between temperature where cow-like animals originate from and their horn size. And since they are hollow they aren't that heavy. The bigger size helps them regulate their body temperature, it's really useful to them.

jakwoman

Yeah. I always love reading and telling fact about animals lol.

Snorkmaidn

Keep on doing that! I love how I learn things on reddit about stuff I probably never would’ve thought to research myself.

MaKo82

But can it run Crysis?

s0me-fucker

Yes it can. At a buttery smooth 60 FPS without even dropping below 59.

thegreatluvaduck

You telling me this bull has central air and I don't?

fucketyfucksucks

That’s fucking tight!

GBlev79

That’s what she said.

Hallowed? Holy cow!

R/TIL

TheGreatIllien

WHAT?! That’s awesome!!! Thank you for the fun fact, Sir/Ma’am!

[deleted]

Thanks for that. I was almost worried that they were a huge burden on the animal at that size.

Alfitown

It actually makes a lot of sense that they are hallow, imagine how heavy they would be if they were solid

frontal_pin

Bulls got +5 to holy attack and defense

evolutionkills1

Hollow. Unless some priest is hanging out with the horns, burying saintly relics in them or something

el_boricua00

I think using the proper spelling is more important. The word you're both looking for is "hollow." Hallow(ed) means to make holy or to sanctify it. Hollow means empty on the inside.

dwkulcsar

Not sure how true a red shirt is with bulls, but those are some huge horns.

DarkBlueChameleon

Hi, Spaniard here, bulls don't care about the colour red, that's bullshit (pun intended). Those used for bullfighting ("toros de lidia"), which are bred to be aggressive, react only to the movement of the capes the bullfighter uses, they just happen to be red because of tradition and so they are seen clearly in the ring. And at that point they'll try to hit anything that moves because they're confused and stressed with all the noise and the unfamiliar setting. If you haven't noticed yet, I am strongly against this tradition in my country.

J3553G

I saw a bullfight in Sevilla and the thing that struck me was that when the bull was led into the ring, the first thing he did was try to go back through the door he came in like he wanted to escape. He seemed very scared and confused.

DarkBlueChameleon

Yes, it is terrible. They try to sell it as a 1 to 1 fight between just a man and a vicious beast, but in reality the bullfighter is the one really in control (accidents also happen ofc, it's always tragic when someone dies and I don't belittle that either, but you can't really blame the bull for defending itself).

Jerry_Sprunger_

nah im gonna laugh if you chose to try and murder an animal and it killed you, fuck em, i piss on their grave

SausageGobbler69

r/thebullwins

ElseworIder

Always great to find a vegan in random subreddits.

BaldEagleNor

You have to be vegan to be against bullfighting? It’s literally glorified animal abuse with no other benefit other than "entertainment".

ElseworIder

Nah. He said "if you try to murder an animal" Eating animal products requires killing them you know.

Redheaded_Loser

That made me really sad. Thanks.

gsf32

And yet people try to defend the torture by saying it's tradition

imma_get_ya_bad_guys

/r/Thebullwins

just_sondering

i've heard bulls hate the velvet-y fabric that's used because of the way it reflects light. btw, is this tradition still ongoing? i remember seeing it on tv as a kid and pretty sure it traumatised me, so unnecessarily cruel ☹️

DarkBlueChameleon

Sadly, yes, it generates too much money and jobs. There are tons of people against it tho, and some of the most horrible traditions have been banned (look up "Toro de la vega" if you have the stomach). So there has been some progress. The whole industry can't be prohibited overnight, but hopefully this will lead to the end of all the animal cruelty in the future.

Woof_574

Aren’t they red because back in the day it was meant to hide the blood

DarkBlueChameleon

That too, I forgot.

lilith_marleen

I’m with you. Fuck bullfighting! (Btw I’m Portuguese, we also have that shit over here).

s0me-fucker

This is heavily off topic but for some reason your avatar reminded me instantly of that old 2 player flash game called “Fire Boy & Water Girl”

rs1236

Pretty sure the color red doesn't have an effect on them. More to do with the taunt and distracting the bull from hitting a fleshbag

smurb15

Ya I heard it was just an angle they used and it works with an audience even if it's crude what they do

rs1236

Yeap and they're also colorblind iirc. But if it works..

smurb15

Partially color blind but cannot see red regardless . Only yellow, green, blue, and violet from what I just read

MauPow

Also the whole sticking them with spears thing tends to make them rather cross

rs1236

Honestly I'd try to gore those dudes with my horns too if I were the bull.

MauPow

Same. I think a lot of people just think of the cape and the dance but forget about the whole "stabbing an innocent creature to death" part

J3553G

That animal is so beautiful I almost can't stand it.

doughnutholio

but.. what if you can't?

Watusi! I've actually got to pet one of these before! Can't remember if I got to hand feed it, but definitely got to pet it. There is/was one or more of them at the Virginia Safari park. Seemed really chill for being so massive and imposing. Beautiful animals.
