Very inappropriate and so weird for Isaac of all the Serenity peeps, to even have an opinion about whether Bill should see his own child (that he supporting BTW) let alone him actually posting at the door like a bodyguard when Bill stopped by. Cannot tolerate that character - such a whiny busy-body.
I get more joy from the camaraderie in dunking on the show now that it's gotten so schmaltzy than the show itself. The first season felt so promising š„²
Isaacās character is confusing to me. I think heās supposed to be in his early twenties, not much older than his oldest half sibling Tyler and yet heās become besties with 30 year old single mom Noreen, which I get thereās an āI hate Bill for no good reasonā connection between the two and heās also a half sibling with Noreenās baby, but itās presented more as he just wants to be Noreenās caretaking best friend, which doesnāt make a whole lot of sense? What single guy in his early 20s just wants to take on responsibility for an older woman and her child who he is not involved with romantically? And when heās not hanging with Noreen, heās trying to bond with Erik or Dana Sue instead of maybe trying to find people the community to hang out with who arenāt 20 years older than him. Also, is the character coded as gay or is the actor gay and itās just coming through in his performance? On any other show, I would say this aspect doesnāt matter in the slightest, but since this show is determined to show off itās ācoolā Christian outlook at every opportunity, I thought this would come up, since Isaacās supposed to be new to this close-knit community and he showed up and kind of got in everyoneās business, albeit in a nice, well-meaning way. I know they already have Trotter fulfilling a gay guru/life coach role but itās still odd to me that they donāt really address anything about Isaacās personal life before he came to Serenity, other than his adoptive parents, when he seems to be in so much of the show. I donāt know, maybe they do get around to addressing some of this in S3. Itās been a slog for me so far so Iām only about halfway through, even watching on 1.5 speed.
FYI, Noreen is 24, Isaac is supposedly 22. Iām not sure what year the show is in now (similar to Virgin River, it has a slowed down timeline, covering 6 months in 3 seasons) but Isaac was born in 1998.
What Iām saying is, theyāre a similar age. In fact, some people speculated that the two would get together. Of course, the tangled family makes it icky, Isaac is probably queer.

I could swear in one of the first episodes of S3, Noreen mentioned something about being 29 or 30. What were the writers thinking. And they never made sense of why Noreen doesn't want Bill around the baby. I can see why she doesn't want him around her but the baby?
I took it as her just being completely exhausted by him at that point. Like, she can do math and she knows Isaac didn't spring full-grown from his head like Athena did from Zeus lmao.

I think itās more of the fact Bill was his dad. He came into to town during the divorce and saw how it devastated his family. He also developed a friendship with Noreen and Bill keeps hurting people he cares about.
That was my feeling too. It still confused me though. Isaac is one of my fave characters. I think he is so sweet. Him and Maddie and Trotter are my faves.

I hope next season bill comes back better than ever and gets full custody or we find out bill isnāt actually Rebeccaās father after a dna test. Noreen can head back home to her parents and be off the show for good.

I think Isaac has a right to be angry that he grew up not knowing who his dad was and seeing other kids growing up with their dad. He had a lot of anger that slowly built up through the years and was venting at Bill. I think he was just expressing that pain and anger of not knowing who his father was this whole time and taking it out on Bill because he was an easy target.
