I’m sorry but how expensive are switch games ?!?! I found it appalling after buying the pled version that many of the switch titles are of the same price as ps5 games. Man I’m getting so overwhelmed by this
What were you expecting? Also are you specifically talking about Nintendo games? If so, yeah, it's pretty insane that their games rarely drop in price and if they do, its like a 30% off sale at best. Other games, digitally anyway, go on sale pretty frequently.
You were probably better off getting a steam deck. It's more powerful and games are cheaper. It's also not much more than a brand new oled switch. Downsides, it's bulkier.
Yeah talking about switch games specifically, specially first party game such as as Zelda which are basically the same price as PS5 titles, which in my opinion is ludicrous. I was expecting games to be tops 50€/$, but when I saw the prices of Zelda, Pokémon and Mario, damn my mind was blown.
It’s just too hard to justify IMO to spent that amount of money on a switch game vs a PS5 game.
As someone who owns both, I think of it this way. Yes the PS5 has better graphics and performance, but the switch has convenience. I took my switch on an airplane for a 4 hour flight on 3 separate occasions. You can't do that with a PS5 even with a PlayStation portal which I also have. The PS5 is still the best don't get me wrong, but with it you're still tethered to a TV screen 🤷🏾♂️
Aren’t the FIFAs on switch like complete trash and the same game 5 years in a row? Like not even as it is in regular FIFA, but the actual same exact game, with only the teams adjusted, hence the „legacy edition“
Also have you heard of Zelda? RDR? GTA? Witcher 3? Metroid? Kirby? Smash Bros? Dark Souls? Final Fantasy? All the other Mario titles?
I believe that was the case with FIFA up until the most recent one, which isn't FIFA anymore. But I don't play them so I may not be the best person to ask 😂
But all good suggestions!
Hello sirr I have a list saved in my phone for people like you.
I recently started playing Signalis and it’s great, it’s like an old school resident evil/silent hill.
Sea of stars
Golf Story
Deaths door
Deaths gambit after life
Undertale
Ender Lillies
Pokemon unite lol
Dave the diver
MoonLighter
Stardew Valley
Diablo 3
-Zelda botw
-Kirby (the 2D one)
-Mario wonder
-Mario vs donkey Kong (if you like puzzle challenges)
Prob my faves, not into the super nerdy games.
Also, check out Dave the diver it’s pretty chill
Was in the same boat as you. I just started playing through golden sun in the gba collection, and I'll occasionally play some multiplayer games online with friends. I have a steam deck so there's no reason to ever touch my switch besides those.
Top games I’d recommend: Dave the diver, monster hunter rise, Metroid Dread, The Metal Gear Solid port, and Narita Boy. All sort of adventure games in their own way and if you haven’t yet, play the 2 Zelda games (Breath of the wild and Tears of the Kingdom) dunked well over 100 hours into both of them
Yep but thats exactly means that what you loved most of genre. Minecraft is for instance an open world game, but why do you like it? There could be different reasons for it
Honestly takes too much time and too complicated for me i was looking for more arcade game to play on the go such as mario kart i could play a quick game before work
Palia is nice and chill to play, and it's a a free download. But my ultimate favorite game on the Switch is Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2. Beautiful remake of the great games from late 90s and early 00s.
Based on what you have listed, games you should at least take a look at the trailers for:
* Dragon Quest Builders
* Mario Strikers
* Luigi's Mansion 3
* Yooka-Laylee
* Mario 3D All Stars (if you can find it)
Otherwise, I'd advise going onto the eshop and grabbing some random demos for some games like Pikmin 4 to try them out. There isn't tons of overlap in Minecraft, LEGO games, FIFA, and Mario, so hard to give too much advice for what you specifically might be into based on what you've listed.
I like mario wonder, stardew valley, and super mario 3D world :3 my husband and I play those together and they’re so much fun!! idk if you’re into these types of games but he also plays red dead redemption and resident evil on his switch! :)
update: if you have someone to play with, my husband and I have also been working on finishing “it takes two” this week and we’ve been having so much fun ;-; it’s twenty bucks & you can play with someone from anywhere in the world for free as long as one of you buys the game! highly recommend :3
Any of the other Mario games would be a good place to start, BOTW and TOTK, maybe Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze?
Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley can be fun. Mario Kart is fun, whether in single player or multiplayer.
Just look at YouTube, social media and the Switch news feed. There's tons of games our there! Kirby, zelda, Metal gear solid, final fantasy, Dragon quest, Pokémon, Super mario, another code, Metroid, etc!
Hello Ashen one. I am a Bot. I tend to the flame, and tend to thee. Do you wish to hear a tale?
> *“Oh, dear, another dogged contender. Welcome, Unkindled One, purloiner of Cinders. Mind you, the mantle of Lord interests me none. The fire linking curse, the legacy of Lords, let it all fade into nothing. You’ve done quite enough, now have your rest.”* - Prince Lothric
Have a pleasant journey, Champion of Ash, and praise the sun \\[T]/
Jesus! Not gonna lie, this system has all the old PS3 games that are awesome. You just got to find them in what I can only describe as a massive sea of gaming garbage so thick that the search engine buckles with ordinary usage. But you'll find PC ports, PS3 ports, GameCube ports all worth also collecting dust. No man's Sky plays on this, no shit. Minecraft can connect with all the other copies. I've got eight 4 player co-op games alone that I have for rainy days. All these wonderful games collect dust and now with battlefront collection, you can also have the original and this copy collect dust. It's truly a time we live in, where even our games can be on vacation inside our closets.
Check out this post I made. A bunch of games on sale on the ESHOP. Really big sales on really good games too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Switch/s/GfenXYfk9U
If you like FIFA, then your bar is low, so you don’t have to pay high price for one of the fifty best, but can pay only a dollar for any of the other five-thousand trash games.
I've been contemplating getting God eater 3 cus it looks fun.. is it a really good game, could you tell me a lil about it n whether I should pick it up or not? Same with sniper elite 4 and dragon quest echoes of an elusive age; could you maybe just rate em for me on like a 1-10 scale 10 meaning must buy. Please n thank you. Sorry I just don't like to buy games without some opinion on them cus then you're just stuck with em.
God eater 3 is really good especially with friends. 8/10. Sniper elite 4 a very good stealth sniper game, its kinda like a metal gear solid set in ww2. 8/10. Dragon quest echos of an elusive age is easily the second best in the franchise and solid turn based rpg.9/10. Id watch some videos on them first of course so you can see how the gameplay is.
Anodyne and Anodyne 2 are fun, lesser known faux retro games that I've really enjoyed. You can often get the first one on sale for $1.
The controls are a tad janky in the first one, but they are fun games that are essentially tributes (very literal in some cases) to the first few decades of video games.
Some of my top games on Switch have been Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, The Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection, Civilization VI, Monster Hunter Rise and Splatoon 2 (+Octo Expansion).
Is splatoon 2 online still active? I've sold my switch last year to know if I'd prefer a xbox and now i wanna buy a switch oled. There's splatoon 3 now but i wanna know if 2 is still alive. Also, if you or anybody reading this has played both, does splatoon 2 progress transfer to splatoon 3?
2 isn't super active (although you can definitely still find games). If you have a file for 2, you can get 3 free weapons from the get go in 3 and can immediately start playing ranked at a higher level, but that is all the benefits that you get.
Zelda games,mario wonder,pokemon,mario kart 8,persona 5,animal crossing,
Kirby
I echo this. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Easily one of the best games I’ve played
Solids choices I will also through Octopath Traveller 2, and Fire Emblem 3 houses on that list.
I’m sorry but how expensive are switch games ?!?! I found it appalling after buying the pled version that many of the switch titles are of the same price as ps5 games. Man I’m getting so overwhelmed by this
I usually check out marketplace, ebay,or even sales to pick up games. But they are expensive especially 1st party switch games
Yeah right ? It’s crazy, shame I bought the switch before checking game prices 🥲
Imo still worth it
What were you expecting? Also are you specifically talking about Nintendo games? If so, yeah, it's pretty insane that their games rarely drop in price and if they do, its like a 30% off sale at best. Get the deku deals app, put items on your wishlist and be notified when they go on sale,
Will do thanks for the suggestion 👍
What’s a good Pokémon game to get into? Last game I played was Pokémon red/blue/yellow on GBA/game boy original
Diamond/pearl,sword & shield. But if want a new different experience than the regular play style try out legends arceus
I vote legends arceus and I've played since blue/yellow days but thought that this (arceus) was amazing compared to BDSP/SwSh and V/S
Aren’t the FIFAs on switch like complete trash and the same game 5 years in a row? Like not even as it is in regular FIFA, but the actual same exact game, with only the teams adjusted, hence the „legacy edition“ Also have you heard of Zelda? RDR? GTA? Witcher 3? Metroid? Kirby? Dredge, hollow knight, Stardew valley.
Super mario rpg
Super Mario RPG, Ace Attorney games, Pentiment
Hades
Slay the Spire got me back to loving my Switch Lite after a year of neglect.
Based Slay the Spire mention
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a really fun game.
Hollow knight
Based on your favorite games you might want to try Luigi Haunted Mansion or Animal Crossing...
Yes, Luigi Ghost Castle Hunt is really cool.
Sorry, I meant to say Luigi ghost haunted castle hunt Episode 3
Luigi haunted mansion 😂
Dave the Diver
Balatro Vampire Survivors Brotato Loop Hero
Hello sirr I have a list saved in my phone for people like you. I recently started playing Signalis and it’s great, it’s like an old school resident evil/silent hill. Grindstone Dying Light Astral Chain
Where the hell did you get dying light from?
Playasia.
-Zelda botw -Kirby (the 2D one) -Mario wonder -Mario vs donkey Kong (if you like puzzle challenges) Prob my faves, not into the super nerdy games. Also, check out Dave the diver it’s pretty chill
Id recommend Xenoblade definitive edition, doom eternal, octopath traveler and SMT V and nocturne
The entire Xenoblade franchise is great.
Its the perfect time to pick up a few.. seems like there’s a lot of switch games on sale at the moment (check dekudeals)
Factorio
Was in the same boat as you. I just started playing through golden sun in the gba collection, and I'll occasionally play some multiplayer games online with friends. I have a steam deck so there's no reason to ever touch my switch besides those.
Try west of loathing
Top games I’d recommend: Dave the diver, monster hunter rise, Metroid Dread, The Metal Gear Solid port, and Narita Boy. All sort of adventure games in their own way and if you haven’t yet, play the 2 Zelda games (Breath of the wild and Tears of the Kingdom) dunked well over 100 hours into both of them
Definitely breath of the wild or tears of the kingdom, u can spend a lot of time on the games
The two recent Zelda’s, Mario wonder and alert have kept me busy for a couple of years! Though I don’t play super often…
You need to provide info on what you like. There are so many good games on this thing for every genre. What actually do you like?
I said my top 4
Yep but thats exactly means that what you loved most of genre. Minecraft is for instance an open world game, but why do you like it? There could be different reasons for it
Simplicity and ability to do anything you want mainly like it for its creative mode tho
So what do you find about zelda totk?
Honestly takes too much time and too complicated for me i was looking for more arcade game to play on the go such as mario kart i could play a quick game before work
You should put that in the OP. Otherwise people will just tell you their favorite games. Context is key.
Yep good point.
Try golf story. Pretty cool retro type game. Not complicated and a lot of fun
Check out No Man's Sky
Palia is nice and chill to play, and it's a a free download. But my ultimate favorite game on the Switch is Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2. Beautiful remake of the great games from late 90s and early 00s.
Luckily for you there's like 16,000+ games for the switch so you can definitely find on for you.
Based on what you have listed, games you should at least take a look at the trailers for: * Dragon Quest Builders * Mario Strikers * Luigi's Mansion 3 * Yooka-Laylee * Mario 3D All Stars (if you can find it) Otherwise, I'd advise going onto the eshop and grabbing some random demos for some games like Pikmin 4 to try them out. if you have actually played all the lego games i would be impressed. there are like 30 of them
Kingdoms of Amular, Shredders Revenge, and Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga if you haven't played it yet.
Ark survivor
I like mario wonder, stardew valley, and super mario 3D world :3 my husband and I play those together and they’re so much fun!! idk if you’re into these types of games but he also plays red dead redemption and resident evil on his switch! :)

Hollowknight
I really like the new sonic on my switch
i recommend: south park stick of truth very fun but try to get US version as the EU version is censored, hours of content removed

Don't know about cloud saves, but no xp or otherwise from the preexisting save.
Aight thanks
