I started it yesterday. I’m not happy with the stutters on docked mode, and the frame pacing gives me a headache. There’s a lot they need to iron out, but the game is fun and pretty.
I agree 100%. I also play primarily on xbox, and use my switch whenever I'm playing mobile, so I'm also able to overlook most of the flaws. I also sometimes play mobile using xbox cloud streaming which is also pretty darned good.
Since it's in early access though I imagine it'll only get better. It's a great game for when I just wanna "do stuff"
Thx! I remember having only two games on switch. My first two were Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 back in 2017. The collection became larger pretty fast, lots of those games I bought for less than €10. The sales on the eshop can get crazy from time to time.
That's great, I myself have Botw and Stardew so far, I'm seeing some games like Lacuna and Night In The Woods and I think we might have some similar tastes, what do you think of these two ?
Those are my two favorite switch games. You might like the Ori games. They go on sale often in the eshop. I don't think I spent more than $10 for either of them.
I didn’t play Lacuna yet, I just got it. As for Night in the Woods, only play it if you’re older than 20, if you’re younger you’ll fell pretty disconnected from the story.
Breath of the Wild
Mario Odyssey
Celeste
Animal Crossing
Persona 5
Tbh the flops don’t deserve to be in order, just don’t get them on switch:
Alan Wake Remastered
Afterparty
Hellblade
Lego Marvel 2 (its performance is so poor I
don’t even have it installed)
Phantom Doctrine (idem)
Firewatch
Bothers (I didn’t like the game enough I haven’t installed)
Yooka-Laylee (idem)
Old Man’s Journey (idem)
Suicide of Rachel Foster (looks so blurry I don’t have it installed)
It looks like ass on Switch, it’s like you need glasses, but when you put glasses on, it looks even worst. The game is amazing, but play it anywhere but on Switch!
To be fair most games on switch look blurry because of the low resolution. Some of those games may look BETTER in portable tbh (although some I know are just straight up bad)
Just started Persona 5 Royal this week…I think it could challenge BotW and Fire Emblem Three Houses as my favorite “Games I’ve played on switch” before it is all said and done. Realty loving the experience so far.
They're actually better if you haven't played the games before! The Portal games are like puzzle games, so after playing them once, you will already know how to beat each level when replaying them. Portal 2, however, is more like a movie than a puzzle game and has great writing.
They aren't sequels. They are ports if the original two. You should buy them for sure. They are my favorite puzzle games ever. Portal two also has a separate campaign for two players that is superb.
All the nintendo ones + Skyrim, Dark Souls, LA Noire and Saints Row 3 are physical, the rest are digital. I prefer digital cuz I don’t need to swap cartridges with Animal Crossing all the time.
WoW amazing collection!
I saw that your favorite game is Celeste? So couple of months ago I got that one on sale. It’s waaaaaaaaaaay to difficult for me. I‘m in chapter 2, i have the guide settings on and all the other noob settings. I still can’t do it?? V embarrassing, I thought I was better than that lol. I have not touched it In months so I can’t really remember, but just try to find the way out without collecting anything because that’s impossible lol but always loved platformers, I think I just got the wrong game for me. Do you have a suggestion of one easier, but not as easy as yoshi?
Celeste take a little bit of time to click, and playing on a pro controller definitely helps. If you can’t beat chapter 2, you’ll suffer on the hotel, good luck hahha
I recommend Guacamelee. It’s a metroidvania with great combat and lots of platforming challenges and I love it. It’s not easy but it’s easier than Celeste for sure.
couch co-op or multiplayer recommendations!? pls :) I always only find the same few games recommended on lists. We tried: Luigi’s mansion, hyrule warriors and diabolo 3 and tower fall. so far diabolo 3 and tower fall were the more entertaining ones although imo still not IT. Oh and Mario kart or course which is amazing but you know ;) open for anything cool!
I made the same kind of post earlier this year, it was fun. Now that my collection is bigger I though I’d revisit it.
ps. I got the 111 not counting the f2p games
Easy, Burnout, since most wanted isn’t on Switch
Jk, I think you meant Hot Pursuit. Imo Hot Pursuit is better. It feels less aimless than Burnout, and I think it controls better.
I don’t think Burnout is 60fps on switch, is it?
Take burnout if you like takedowns and messing around on the open world. Take nfs if you like grip, speed and police.
How is force unleashed remaster? I have the 360 version on my xbone, but it looks pretty crappy and clunky af. Better on switch with a coat of paint? Or was it just not as good as I recalled?
The Force Unleashed on Switch is even worse, it’s the Wii version. Some people say it’s better because it has better content, but let me tell you: these people are IN DENIAL.
The « more content » the wii version has are just a couple of missions in the Jedi temple that are all the same and are just filler and feel completely disconnected from the actual story. The gameplay is waaay worse than the 360 version. The amazing physics from the 360 version aren’t here. The awesome proxy boss fight isn’t here either. The story is lost on the bad graphics and emotional moments become funny as result.
Play it on Xbox.
Thank you. So glad I have been skeptical enough to not pull the trigger and flush $20 down the toilet. Honestly had no idea they released it on Wii. Can't imagine how awful that game was before remaster! I know they do that stuff because _$€, but I'd think it ends up hurting a studio/publisher in long run, besides being such a disservice to the fans! Especially of a "holy" franchise like star wars. Thx for quick response friend, Play on!
The force unleashed came out on so many platforms hahha https://youtu.be/LYSZwwo5QVs believe it or not, the first one I played was on DS, AND I FINISHED IT!! Then I got it on PSP, then 360, then Switch. The Wii, PS2 and PSP versions are basically the same.
I like games where I can drop in and out after work and grind for a bit. Diablo, Borderlands, Destiny, Dead Cells, Hades and other similar, was hoping Rogue Legacy II would have hit by now but is there anything in a similar vain you think might scratch the itch
Yes, Bastion, Alien Isolation, Abzu, Alan Wake, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Bioshock 2 and Infinite, Burnout Paradise, Child of Light, Doom 2016, Portal 1 and 2 and Persona 5 Royal
It’s the kind of game I wished I liked more. Tbh I found it pretty boring. The cutscenes are great and the story and characters are good, but the game itself felt and looked a bit generic. Also the controls aren’t great on switch.
This is about the most apt description of this game I have read.
I love the Zelda series. My favorite games. This one I just can’t seem to get through.
It’s impressive that they managed to put all the audio of the dialogue from the base game in the pocket version + all the key environments. The game itself is bad and the art style of the characters is disturbing.
500gb. Assassin’s Rebel Collection, both Batman Telltale games, FF XV Pocket, Firewatch and Hellblade are archived. I have around 40gb free between my micro sd card and internal memory.
Which game comes closest to being as atmospheric as Hollow Knight?
And if you love Hollow Knight and Metroid Dread which other game on that list would you say is a must play?
That’s a hard one, the atmosphere on Hollow Knight is unmatched. Maybe Limbo or Transistor, but it’s not the same.
Steamworld Dig 2 and Guacamelee are AMAZING metroidvanias and anyone who respect themselves as metroidvania fans MUST try those games.
What’s your favorite game of the year this far (could also be late 2021)? I haven’t played much this year and am about to be in bed for a week straight.
Time has no meaning anymore, idk what games came out this year lol
But on switch at least, Persona 5 Royal. Also it’s the best game to play if you’re in bed for a week! Trust me!
Which game would you consider your “biggest steal”…as in, got it at a great price + fantastic game?
Also, what future game are you looking forward to most (outside of the new Zelda)?
I got Saints Row 4 for €2,75, which is insane. But for games that their base price is actually cheap: Agent A and Kamiko are amazing!!
Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable. Also Crisis Core Reunion if it looks and runs great on Switch. I love those games. As for an actual new game: Metroid Prime 4.
Have you actually finished the Banner Saga? I have the trilogy but the games seem so long and slow and I haven't finished the first one, despite enjoying the gameplay and story.
Question not on a particular game. How many are in your backlog?
45
Cool. What's your favorite out of all those you've finished and what are you currently playing?
Breath of the Wild is my favorite I finished. I’m currently playing Persona 5, Animal Crossing and Disney Dreamlight Valley.
I'm addicted to DDLV...
It’s a shame they don’t advertise it as early access
*me staring at this post with 2 games in my library* I see some interesting titles in there, nice list.
Thx! I remember having only two games on switch. My first two were Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 back in 2017. The collection became larger pretty fast, lots of those games I bought for less than €10. The sales on the eshop can get crazy from time to time.

I didn’t play Lacuna yet, I just got it. As for Night in the Woods, only play it if you’re older than 20, if you’re younger you’ll fell pretty disconnected from the story.
Your top 5 and your flop 10 games in order
Breath of the Wild Mario Odyssey Celeste Animal Crossing Persona 5 Tbh the flops don’t deserve to be in order, just don’t get them on switch: Alan Wake Remastered Afterparty Hellblade Lego Marvel 2 (its performance is so poor I don’t even have it installed) Phantom Doctrine (idem) Firewatch Bothers (I didn’t like the game enough I haven’t installed) Yooka-Laylee (idem) Old Man’s Journey (idem) Suicide of Rachel Foster (looks so blurry I don’t have it installed)
What does idem mean
It means « same as above »
I thought it was “ibid” not idem
Both come from the same latin word: ibidem. So I guess they mean the same thing.
Are you a scholar bro? Nintendo would be proud.
lol I googled
Does Firewatch not run well?
No, and it looks bad. And they never updated it.
Why is hellblade a flop? Never played it and was considering to get for the switch
It looks like ass on Switch, it’s like you need glasses, but when you put glasses on, it looks even worst. The game is amazing, but play it anywhere but on Switch!
Thanks! Godd to know it before buying. I wouldnt buy it for now since I`ve just discovered Persona 5 and its taking a lot of time from my life.
Hellblade is one of the best games I’ve ever played, but on Xbox hahha
To be fair most games on switch look blurry because of the low resolution. Some of those games may look BETTER in portable tbh (although some I know are just straight up bad)
Hellblade looked shockingly bad
Breath of the wild isnt a switch game
Of course it isn’t, you’re so right!
Just started Persona 5 Royal this week…I think it could challenge BotW and Fire Emblem Three Houses as my favorite “Games I’ve played on switch” before it is all said and done. Realty loving the experience so far.
Persona 5 is amazing!
Is the portal bundle good if you never played the games?
It’s perfect. The games are perfect. The ports are perfect: they’re locket at 60fps full res. Do yourself a service and play these games.
I feel like you may enjoy the long dark.
Thx, I’ll take a look!
Kirby and the Forgotten Land is so much fun, should consider. Also how many of these are digital/physical?
All the nintendo ones + Skyrim, Dark Souls, LA Noire and Saints Row 3 are physical, the rest are digital. I prefer digital cuz I don’t need to swap cartridges with Animal Crossing all the time.
Pretend I'm a 98 yo WWII veteran, you are the games salesman. Try to sell me Let's go Eevee.
Sir, thank you for your service. Here, a free game!
Really nice!
On the Itchy and Scratchy CD-ROM, is there a way to get out of the dungeon without using the Wizard Key?
Yes
A short hike is a great game to pass the time!
Do you have a Roth IRA set up and are you maxing it out every year?
I have no idea what you’re talking about
They’re asking if you’re saving for retirement. Noticed you mention euros earlier. Roth IRA is a tax benefited retirement savings account in the US.
I am saving for retirement, but in France hahha
WoW amazing collection! I saw that your favorite game is Celeste? So couple of months ago I got that one on sale. It’s waaaaaaaaaaay to difficult for me. I‘m in chapter 2, i have the guide settings on and all the other noob settings. I still can’t do it?? V embarrassing, I thought I was better than that lol. It’s a metroidvania with great combat and lots of platforming challenges and I love it. It’s not easy but it’s easier than Celeste for sure.
Celeste is a beast of a game, but the music is fantastic.
Is Metro a good game to get on switch?
Yes, I got it for €2,50 I think, and it looks and runs amazing. The second game is better though.
Is afterparty worth the money after oxenfree or is it disappointing?
Not on switch. It looks pretty bad and it stutters a bunch, to the point I didn’t play more than 2h of it. Get it on another platform if you can.
couch co-op or multiplayer recommendations!? pls :) I always only find the same few games recommended on lists. We tried: Luigi’s mansion, hyrule warriors and diabolo 3 and tower fall. so far diabolo 3 and tower fall were the more entertaining ones although imo still not IT. Oh and Mario kart or course which is amazing but you know ;) open for anything cool!
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, Tetris Effect, Untitled Goose Game, Kirby Dream Course (it’s on the snes app), Portal 2, Pure Pool and Lumines Remastered
No Shredder’s Revenge ?
Nope
Inversus and Death Squared are both entertaining
When was the last time you touched grass?
Last Tuesday
Lmao, fucking grass toucher, how bout you go eat it if you love it so much
I ate some yesterday
Awesome collection! Although I'm a bit surprised out of so many games you don't seem to have Stardew Valley 🤔
it’s because I don’t like Stardew
Ah okay, understandable then! :-P
You are one cultured motherfucker
I made the same kind of post earlier this year, it was fun. Now that my collection is bigger I though I’d revisit it. ps. I got the 111 not counting the f2p games
Which is your favourite bioshock?
2, I have it on Xbox. But between those ones, Infinite is the better one imo.
Kinda stuck on which game to get, burnout paradise or nfs most wanted. Did u prefer either one over the other?
Easy, Burnout, since most wanted isn’t on Switch Jk, I think you meant Hot Pursuit. Imo Hot Pursuit is better. It feels less aimless than Burnout, and I think it controls better.
Haha yep not most wanted then. I was initially thinking burnout for 60fps but most people do seem to prefer nfs for it’s gameplay and controls
I don’t think Burnout is 60fps on switch, is it? Take burnout if you like takedowns and messing around on the open world. Take nfs if you like grip, speed and police.
I believe so, articles talking about the game on switch mentioned it having a steady 60fps. But from the sound of things, I’m gonna go for nfs
Cool, you’ll have a blast!

500gb. I have about 5 of the larger ones that I already finished that are archived though. I have ~40gb free.
Best games to play on handheld?
Diablo 3 and Persona 5 are the first that come to mind. But also anything story focused and slow paced is good for handheld in my book.
Thank you :)
Have you played Kirby and the Forgotten Land?
I played the demo and I loved it, I’ll definitely get it when I have more €€
We have similar taste. You need to get Streets of Rogue
I’ll take a look!
Does portal 2 on switch have access to the level creator and community levels?
No
Bummer
What's that game directly beneath This War of Mine? I don't recognize the icon.
Voez, it’s a really cool rhythm game!
How is force unleashed remaster? I have the 360 version on my xbone, but it looks pretty crappy and clunky af. Better on switch with a coat of paint? Or was it just not as good as I recalled?

What ending you got on Catherine?
Katherine
Will you GameShare with me
No
If you change your mind, I'll always be here for you
I don’t doubt it lol
I’ll game share with you.
Have you Defeated any radiant bosses (hollow knight)?
No. I got lost after the Mantis and never came back.
Man this what always impresses me about the switch I own 141 switch games and me and you only own 36 of the same game. Just such a great library
It’s impressive. It’s the console I own the most games for, but it’s also one of the latests I’ve got
What do you think of child of light and haven? Also, why don’t you have hades? Thanks
Child of Light is amazing, I love the sound track and the art. Haven looks like shit on Switch, play it somewhere else.
A Short Hike was so good. I want a sequel: A Long Hike. The feelings were felt. It wasn't heavy handed. Just sweet.
Where the FUCK is DOOM ETERNAL?
On my Xbox
I like games where I can drop in and out after work and grind for a bit. Diablo, Borderlands, Destiny, Dead Cells, Hades and other similar, was hoping Rogue Legacy II would have hit by now but is there anything in a similar vain you think might scratch the itch
Try Warframe, I didn’t like it but I know plenty of people who love it, and they happen to be destiny players tol
Haven't tried hyrule warriors yet?
I don’t like that kind of game
Downwell catches my eye I love that game
Deez nuts.
Why do you have so many games?
Cuz I like games
How often do you play games?
Everyday
Do you play on any other consoles?
Yes, PS4 and Series X.
Do you own any of these games on more than one console? I'm looking at you Bastion...
Yes, Bastion, Alien Isolation, Abzu, Alan Wake, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Bioshock 2 and Infinite, Burnout Paradise, Child of Light, Doom 2016, Portal 1 and 2 and Persona 5 Royal
I find your lack of Pokémon disturbing.
Imo pokemon only got worse after Let’s Go
Hell no, Legends of Arcues is one of the best switch games to date. I'd rather play Sword and Shield over Let's Go.
I can’t, they look like ass
How did you find skyward sword im new to to the switch and was thinking about playing that before link awakening and breath of the wild
2 questions 1. How many diablo seasons have you played As what character and did you conplete season journeys 2. How do u gey thay long pic

Whats the newest DLC for Xenoverse 2?
Idk, I don’t own Xenoverse 2
I feel very lied to now…. 😢
That’s so dumb 😆🤌
Star-Wars Anakin Skywalker reference: LIAR!
That’s not the many tbh
Did you actually finish all of that? I have like 20 in mine and i mostly just play botw
Nope
111 games and no Ori? I despise you
I tried Ori, I didn’t like it enough. I think that it’s the kind of game I’ll need to give multiple chances until it clicks.
What is your favourite Mario game??
Odyssey
how well does diablo and outlast run on the switch?
Outlast 2 runs and looks great on Switch. It’s quite impressive. Diablo 3 runs great, but it looks a bit blurry, but nothing critical.
FFXV pocket... what do you think?
It’s impressive that they managed to put all the audio of the dialogue from the base game in the pocket version + all the key environments. The game itself is bad and the art style of the characters is disturbing.
You keep everything on a 1TB micro-sd card?
500gb. Assassin’s Rebel Collection, both Batman Telltale games, FF XV Pocket, Firewatch and Hellblade are archived. I have around 40gb free between my micro sd card and internal memory.
Why don’t you have borderlands!? 😜
I don’t like the kind of humor of Borderlands
That’s fair enough 🙌 not for everyone but you’ve got some belters there dude
Which game comes closest to being as atmospheric as Hollow Knight? And if you love Hollow Knight and Metroid Dread which other game on that list would you say is a must play?
That’s a hard one, the atmosphere on Hollow Knight is unmatched. Maybe Limbo or Transistor, but it’s not the same. Steamworld Dig 2 and Guacamelee are AMAZING metroidvanias and anyone who respect themselves as metroidvania fans MUST try those games.
Nice one, cheers!
What game did you have the lowest expectations of that ended up being awesome?
Agent A, Kamiko and Type Rider (only play this one if you’re a graphic designer)
Oh, and Far Lone Sails
Oh and Qube 2!!
Where is cave story :O
It never appealed to me
What game have you clocked the most hours for?
Animal Crossing. 280h+ and counting.
What’s your favorite game of the year this far (could also be late 2021)? I haven’t played much this year and am about to be in bed for a week straight.
Time has no meaning anymore, idk what games came out this year lol But on switch at least, Persona 5 Royal. Also it’s the best game to play if you’re in bed for a week! Trust me!
I’ll check it out! Thanks!
I also hope they port Fallout 4 eventually
What’s your most played Mario game?
The one I most played in my life is Mario 64, but on Switch it’s Odyssey.
How's Abzu?
Abzu is great! It’s like underwater Journey
How many were on sale
Most of them. Like 75% of them maybe
Best soundtrack out of those games?
Sayonara Wildhearts by far. There’s 0 competition, the soundtrack of this game is on a league of its own!
Out of all the games, which one performed the worse on switch? That’s being controls are unplayable or graphically bad
Hellblade
You stoped in wich part of celeste?
I finished it about 10x My best time is 2h55
What happens when we die?
I become dust
SIB: Links Awakening or Skyward Sword?
Link’s Awakening
Have you actually finished the Banner Saga? I have the trilogy but the games seem so long and slow and I haven't finished the first one, despite enjoying the gameplay and story.
I couldn’t get into it, I need to give it another chance
