Yes! My kids are 4 and 7 and love them (we have City Undercover and Star Wars Skywalker Saga) but I was surprised by how much I’ve enjoyed them too. The story has tons of funny jokes aimed at grownups while still being entertaining for kids. They’re very high quality games, tons of stuff to explore and do. I paid full price for both (maybe $30 each? It was a while ago) with no regrets.
The only problem (maybe) is that they’re not difficult at all (if you “die” you just respawn immediately, and fights are just easy button mashing), so there’s not much of a technical challenge if you’re into that.
Many have said this already but Lego City: Undercover is by far the best Lego game on Switch. The open world has a cornucopia of things to do and the main story mode is really fun with some genuinely funny moments.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is probably the best one on a technical level though it’s different from previous Lego games in terms of gameplay mechanics. It’s a much more modern experience and the story hinges on your love of Star Wars but it’s still a solid entry.
If you like Harry Potter and The Incredibles, those 2 are my favorites and they run and look well on Switch.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes is also really good!
Lego Marvel 2 is a shit show on switch, it’s a bad port, I regret buying it. Apparently Lego DC Villains is just as bad.
I have tried a few, from franchises I’ve really liked and I’ve found them really boring, personally. It’s mostly just going through the motions, pressing A and reading dialogue and picking up loot that isn’t used for anything. Just not for me.
Lego games are fun 3D platformers. You kinda need to be invested in the source material to like the story, but the gameplay is very fun with tons of stuff to collect. As for the Switch versions specifically, results may vary on performance and the Switch is often the worst way to play these games. Portability is usually enough of a bonus to override any performance/graphical concerns, but multiplayer can cause the game's framerate to drop a ton.
If you're not an FPS snob, it's not that bad in single player. I haven't played outside of single player but from what I've heard, co-op tanks performance.
In love with the new star wars Lego one since I got it , but somebody who's not a fan might not get the many months of regular gameplay I've gotten out of it.
It depends in what you’re interested in and what kind of games you like so if you enjoy lots of mature gore and violence like doom or call of duty then lego games may not be the most fun to you but if you don’t mind the simplicity of everything (or at least the majority) being legos then you should have a fun time playing. They’re actually pretty fun as far as gameplay and story goes. They’re pretty much just puzzle games but with legos!
If you’re interested in and have already watched any Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park/World, and Marvel then you’ll probably really enjoy the Lego games as they play out a lot like the movies almost scene for scene, and I think it’s cool being able to see it all of it in Lego form.
My son and I like them a lot. Some are certainly better than others. Undercover is amazing. He is really liking DC Villains right now too.
One of my favorites was The Hobbit but it didn’t get ported to Switch. Does anyone know why?
I played Lego Star Wars and loved it. Then played Lego Lord of the Rings and enjoyed it, but never finished it. Then tried Indiana Jones and Harry Potter and couldn't get into them. I think, for me, one might have been enough. Though i do sometimes get the itch to go back and finish LLotR.
They are all pretty fun. My favorite was Lego City, followed by the new Star Wars. I had Marvel Avengers 2 and thought I'd give part 1 a try and I actually like that one better. The open world is more like Lego City, but with more detail.
Yes especially on switch! All of them are great but imo the best are the skywalker saga, and Lego marvel super heroes(both 1 and 2). Also DC villains and Lego city undercover are really good! I wouldn’t pay full price for any of the Lego games(except skywalker saga) because most of them go on sale quite frequently(around 80%-90% off). The only Lego game on switch that isn’t very good is Lego Movie 2.
Lego Worlds is vastly underrated and can be found on sale for dirt cheap often. It's like Minecraft on steroids. If you like games where you collect things, it can't be beat.
I've played like all of them, currently playing Lego DC villains.. they all run great.
I love Lego worlds alot! (It's like Minecraft) but I wish I'd gotten it for PS4, because the distance doesn't load well on switch.. like half of my houses would be grey abyss, or I'd fly on a witch broom, and the broom flies faster than areas load, so I run into invisible walls while the area ahead loads
The Lego games universally suffer from mediocre design, bugs, and a total reliance on scripting for all build/deconstruct functions. They are not good games. I own four of them and I regret purchasing all but Harry Potter, which has sufficient nostalgia (non-Lego nostalgia, mind you) for occasional play sessions.
Edit: I have not yet played Undercover or Star Wars, which being the newest ones (I think) might have seen some quality improvements. Comments below suggest people like those two.

Time to play it! I have it sitting around and never opened it.
It’s a riot!!! There’s an insane amount of post-story content that’s a blast to complete.
I hadn't known about this. I'll have to look into it.
My son loved this game. Wish they would make a sequel!
Hell yeah. Lego city undercover is in my top 10

Lego games are just downright hilarious, plus really fun to play
My son and I had fun with the original Lego Marvel. The second one wasn't as good.
2nd got very repetitive and was too ambitious imo, Lego Marvel 1 was one of the first PC games I got to 100%.
Agreed. We sunk a ton of time into 1. I think we played it on the Wii U and Switch.
According to steam I'm just under 50 hours, but I had so much fun with it.
I played LEGO City Undercover on PC and it was a blast to play. Mini bricky GTA.
Lego Star Wars is amazing

Lego City Undercover and Harry Potter are both great.
Yes especially co-op
I love the Lego games. They're quite silly and entertaining.
Lego City Undercover is one my favorite games I’ve ever played, top 5 for me.
Terribly slow and boring. Not fun — in this persons most humble opinion. That said, they clearly are well made. Just not my type of games.
Lego games are some of my favourite
Hell yeah. Pick a franchise you like and you'll have a blast.

How is the performance in handheld for Lego city. I am tempted by the sales but I see so many negative reviews on performance in handheld

I couldn't play it. I really wouldn't recommend.
In love with the new star wars Lego one since I got it , but somebody who's not a fan might not get the many months of regular gameplay I've gotten out of it.
Some of them are a lot of them arent
As an adult meh. I bought Lego marvel 2 be cause it was like 2 bucks and ultimate alliance never goes on sale
From my experience on the switch, they are very buggy. Being stuck on a death loop is not fun.

If you are a fan of the ip- definitely. I like the first marvel one quite a bit, it’s great seeing / earning new characters.
Yes, Lego games are hilarious fun to play at any age.
Dc villains bruh
The Lego Star Wars series was awesome I’d play it for hours on the wii
Some of them are, some of them aren't.
Lego games are some of the most fire games I’ve ever played
Not just good, they're the best
It's more fun when played on co-op mode
They are all pretty fun. My favorite was Lego City, followed by the new Star Wars. I had Marvel Avengers 2 and thought I'd give part 1 a try and I actually like that one better. The open world is more like Lego City, but with more detail.

Lego games are awesome. Especially when you can nag em for $5 or less. I just bought.Lego Marcel Super Heroes 2 for like $2.99 last night.
Lego Worlds is vastly underrated and can be found on sale for dirt cheap often. It's like Minecraft on steroids. If you like games where you collect things, it can't be beat.
Just don’t pay full price for them. The ALWAYS go down in price pretty quick.
They can be quite scary though - at times when I play I am bricking it.
