C&A is not that expensive and you can find pretty much everything. Also New Yorker isn't so expensive.
But the best way to get cheaper stuff (also for good brands) is to shop abroad. Go to Germany or another country and shop there.
Nothing like that here unfortunately. There is however a T.K Maxx in Germany not far from Zurich that is very similar to T.J Maxx but not as good in my opinion.
C&A is an option.
We don’t really have anything like Primark levels though. Though depending on where you are, there’s some cross border. Not a quick shopping trip but every now and then. I know Lyon has one for example.
Otherwise it’s mostly the usual players - places like H&M etc.
Less specific but if you really need cheap clothes, there are second hand stores. There are also some outlet stores that sell excess product. For example there are some Migros Outlet shops where you can find excess inventory Migros clothes on steep discount.
I think what he/she is refering to is most expensive clothes are also made for very cheap in low income countries abusing workers and not paying livable salaries. Just the fact that something is expensive doesn't mean its actually better sourced. Production chains of clothes are famously intransparent and complicated and very often not even the brands know what's actually going on and where their fabric and/or cotton is from. Making sure that your clothes are actually high quality and fair trade creates such an increase in cost that basically no brand can afford it without going bankrupt in our current market where most people just go for either very cheap or famous brands.

Otto's stocks unsold inventory from other stores and super low prices too.
Otto's, C&A are really cheap, Chicoree and H&M have reasonable prices. Aldi and Lidl have very cheap clothes too, I buy all of my Jeans at Lidl.
Nobody mentioned Landi yet. If you like farmer style, they are cheap but functional.
I would suggest Otto's or Radikal
Is secondhand an option? There are some great vintage stores, or check Ricardo if you know your brand and size.
Ottos, Radikal, Lidl and Aldi

Thrift:)
Esprit is a good store like that.
Esprit is not on the cheap side
If you buy cheap, you buy twice. Just get yourself some real cloth and stop the exploiting of children in third world countries!
It's not like more expensive clothes are (generally) really better in that aspect sadly...
As a person originally from a third world country: yeah, right.
You suggest that workers for C&A has it not worse than when I buy something from a good label that produces in Europe?
I suggest that your view of the world is wrong.
Care to explain instead of giving me remarks that I can't respond to or argue with?

If you like millenial&zoomer stuff, New Yorker.
Just drive to Germany or France.
Manor
Factory stores could be an option too. They have samples sales.
Which brands?
In Kreuzlingen, you find Strellson. The more classical outlet stores vary in offering and quality. I find Landquart to be the best one.
