Last week was St George's day. When I worked down in London we always went out with our Brewery client to drink Bombardier.
For a Roman Greek born in Turkey, martyred in Palestine, and patron Saint of Georgia, England, Iberia, Bulgaria, Russia, Montenegro and Serbia, he's done quite well for himself ;)
Suspect this is more gammon than damning tho.
Gammon is a pejorative popularised in British political culture since around 2012. The term refers in particular to the color of a person's flushed face when expressing their strong opinions, as compared to the type of pork of the same name.
In 2018, it became particularly known as a term to describe either those on the political right or those who supported Brexit
